Ray Photography Co.

n engagement shoot with her in Charlottesville and fell in love with her photo style and vision. She knows her stuff and knows how to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera! Leading up to the wedding she was someone I could reach out to about minor details or major issues and she helped me through each and every one. Day of, she was efficient and brought the most amazing and warm energy to our day. She captured so much joy in her photos and our album feels like us!!! I love that she prioritizes real, candid moments that let our personalities shine. She got absolute rave reviews from EVERYONE. The most perfect day made even better by the most talented and genuine photographer!!

d and made sure that we could enjoy all the moments of our day. We just got some sneak peaks and they are STUNNING. We can't wait to get the rest of them. Go book Ray for your wedding!!!!

ve, warm spirit. We love our engagement & wedding photos so much and our wedding guests often comment about how great of a job she did! Thank you Ray! <3

bably the hardest vendor for me to choose, there are so many great options out there, but Ray’s style caught our eye, and after speaking with her on the phone I knew we had to work with her! She provided multiple location options for our engagement photos and my oh my! she did not disappoint. We chose a short hike to Black Rock Summit, which has a breathtaking view that will always be a special place to us. We even took our friends and family there the Thursday before our wedding! Our engagement photos looked like they were out of a magazine. I received multiple comments that we looked so natural and like we were in an ad, which was a relief considering this was our first time doing a formal photoshoot, and felt very awkward. Ray coached us through it, hyped us up, and put us at ease quickly! On our wedding day, Ray was the pure bliss you need to feel special and loved on such an important day. Her second photographer, Ryan was on the same level. They captured all the special moments, got creative with bridal party shots, and went with the flow of the day. Even though I know we were behind on schedule, they made sure we felt stress-free and had fun while getting the pictures we wanted. They hung out with our bridal party, provided great conversation, and felt like they’d always been part of the group. They were on the dance floor getting the best shots and were overall amazing. Don’t second guess using her as your wedding photographer! She is simply AMAZING!

communication was seamless and she was always quick to respond to our needs. She was extremely flexible and accommodating and turned what could have been stressful into a day of easygoing fun. She brought genuine excitement to our special day. From chauffeuring me to different parts of our venue to helping me get ready, she was the ultimate support system. Her infectious enthusiasm made posing for pictures feel effortless. And the pictures, holy crap!! Within 24 hours, we received sneak peeks that left us speechless. Her pictures are truly masterpieces, just breathtakingly beautiful!! Ray's talent is beyond words – every shot was not just a photograph, but a work of art. Ray, our elopement was everything we could’ve hoped for, and we are forever grateful for your presence and your incredible work. We can’t wait to see the whole album! If anyone is looking for a photographer who not only captures moments but transforms them into gorgeous artwork, Ray is the one. Thank you for making our day unforgettable!!

inutes ahead of schedule because of how organized and top of timeline she was. Not only did we love working with her, but so did our bridal party and family! They have said nothing but wonderful things about their experience with her on wedding day and believe her “photos belong in a magazine” - WE AGREE!! I would recommend her to anyone!!! Cheers to the best engagement and wedding photos!

lebrations. Her ability to engage with us and our guests, getting genuine smiles from all, truly made our photos radiate joy and love. Her professional manner blends perfectly with her warmth, making the process feel less like a photoshoot and more like a fun experience shared with a friend. Ray's artistic approach helped to capture our special day just as we had imagined - sublime and filled with love. We even had our sneak peek photos back from Ray the very next day! It's clear that Ray is passionate about her work. She has an uncanny ability to be at the right place at the right time, capturing raw emotions in the most enchanting way. We are genuinely grateful for Ray’s commitment, creativity, and the joyful energy she brought to our wedding.

en you see her. Ray makes you feel special and is genuinely happy to capture whatever makes you happy (which is obviously your boo, duh). I will always remember Ray cheering us on to hit another pose or just hyping us up, because she is the best hype woman there is. Not only is Ray one of the most incredible humans you will ever meet, but she is also an incredible artist behind the camera. Every shot she takes is so purposeful and breathtaking. We know she spends countless hours editing photos and it shows with each photo she shares. We just got our sneak peaks from our wedding and it was above and beyond what we could have ever dreamed of. Ray's photos will always be the best, so just make her your photographer already, you won't regret it.

owed in the pictures. It's like reliving the day all over again whenever we look at them! Not only are the photos stunning, but Ray is also a joy to work with. She was super organized, hilarious, and full of creative ideas. Plus, she kept everyone entertained and laughing during the photo sessions. It was such a blast! We received our photos promptly, and the presentation was top-notch. We couldn't be happier with how everything turned out! If you're looking for a wedding photographer who will capture all the love, laughter, and special moments with a fun and relaxed approach, I highly recommend Ray Photography! She's a true pro and will give you picture-perfect memories to cherish forever!

There’s definitely no way that we would have been able to get through it without her positive spirit and energy. Even at my wedding people kept coming up to me and saying “your photographer is so awesome.” If you are debating whether or not to book with Ray, please let this be your sign to do it!! Ray makes you feel like she’s a best friend you’ve known for years, and made my husband and I feel so comfortable in front of the camera (which is normally not the case). And not to mention the pictures are absolutely amazing and something we will treasure forever!

my brother and SIL’s elopement and the minute I got engaged the first thing I said was i want Ray. Her work is incredible. I knew she was perfect when I saw my brother (who never smiles in photos) look like he was laughing so hard his cheeks hurt. She is a gem.

o grateful that she will be taking our wedding photos!

know how they say it takes a village to raise child well it takes a village to make a wedding day go right! That is when Ray comes in. Along with her work being ABSOLUTELY STUNNING, she is such a kind soul to her couples & those around working with her. We were able to produce such a beautiful film because she opened the opportunity for us to get our shots too and used lots of poses with movement. I felt like I knew her for such a long time but it was my first time working with her. It was such a light and easy day. GO AHEAD AND BOOK WITH HER! You won’t regret it!!!!!

ses. So professional and one of my favorite human beings to have met through the wedding process! She’s the best at what she does.

dding day. Her photos are incredible and all of our family and friends are blown away by her work. We are so happy we found her and can’t wait to print some of her beautiful photos to hang in our home.

ur love, but we also wanted to feel comfortable and like ourselves. Ray made us feel 100% comfortable from the moment we met her. She was able to capture our love and our personalities in the pictures. We will cherish these pictures and our memories of photo-taking adventures with Ray for our entire lives. Thank you, Ray!

the most amazing photos that we will cherish forever!!

great she was and we highly recommend her for anyone looking for a wedding photographer!

e (which she captured beautifully), to finally celebrating our marriage this summer, and all the change in plans in between, Ray was a constant support and (literal) ray of sunshine, positivity and love. We began our wedding journey just needing a photographer and we ended up with not only the most talented photographer you could ask for, but also a cherished friend. HIRE HER!!

ng journey. Ray made us feel so comfortable, so confident, and beautiful in front of the camera. Our love was portrayed so perfectly. Ray listened. She took every shot we requested, wrangled up all our guests for the group shots during the reception, all while incorporating her own artistic shot ideas. She was just so easy and down for anything! EVERY single person who has seen our photos is blown away. Those who already got married, wish they would have booked her! Those who have yet to get married....well Ray get ready! Ray is the ultimate HYPE girl and photographer turned friend. You will have timeless photos for years to come.

commend her enough!

live for years to come through her photos! Correspondence pre-wedding was a breeze and she was absolutely fabulous on the wedding day, making us feel like movie stars and being present for exactly the right moments we needed her. I can’t say enough positive things about Ray, she is a gem and you would be crazy to hire anyone else!

d immediately. We told her the vibe we were going for and why we loved her and it was truly love at first sight. What we loved the most about Ray's photos was not only the style of the photography its self, but the pure joy and comfort on the couples faces and in their poses. I think that's what really sets amazing photographers apart. She was really flexible and was able to put together a custom package to fit our needs which made it possible for us to work together. First, the engagement session. We got married at a summer camp and for our engagement photos, we really wanted to embrace the theme. We were nervous to tell her and when we did, she absolutely flipped. She was so excited, and had so many ideas. She even went to some Charlottesville thrift shops to find us some vintage lanterns as props- like... are you joking? Then, the rehearsal dinner and the wedding day. Ray put us so at ease. Our wedding weekend was SO fun because of Ray. First of all, she's the most amazing hype woman you'll ever meet in your life. She makes you feel so beautiful and so confident- exactly how you want to feel on your special day. During the process she would text me around once a month just to tell me how excited she was for the wedding. I honestly think she made me more excited for the weekend than I could have ever made myself. She believed in our vision and brought it to life in a way we couldn't have imagined. She has such a pure joy in what she does. She was literally running around and dancing all night at our wedding- having the best time and capturing the most amazing moments. All of our friends were obsessed with her, and so we were we. I know we'll keep in touch with Ray now, because she's just such a wonderful soul. Any special occasion that we have in our life moving forward, we've got our photographer!

out your wedding. If you are looking for a photographer don’t even think about it, reach out already.

’s gorgeous photos took our breath away. They perfectly captured our love, emotion, and movements. She made my husband and I feel so comfortable in front of the camera for both our engagement session and wedding. From day one, Ray was responsive and always willing to chat and offer wedding planning ideas and tips. She put us at ease when our stress levels were running high. We were completely confident that we were in the best of hands, and so appreciative that Ray was there to make our day run so smoothly. Aside from her unbelievable talent and professionalism, she is such a kind and down to earth soul with an abundance of enthusiasm and positivity. The moment she arrived on our wedding day, the energy in the room was lifted - our entire family adored Ray’s company. We would recommend Ray to anyone in a heartbeat. Cannot wait to work with her for other life milestones. Ray, thank you so much for capturing photos and memories that we will forever cherish 🧡

le, she helped us with getting all the shots we wanted, and we just truly loved spending time with her. The photos are also SO beautiful. She's wonderful, could not recommend her more!!

he first vendor I booked for my wedding and hands down the best decision I made throughout the entire wedding planning process. She did our engagement photos and wedding photos, which I really recommend doing. It will ease all your concerns, because you will have proof that Ray is magic. You can not look bad if Ray is taking your photo, I swear. Her energy hyped you up in a way I can’t even explain. Not only does Ray have an incredible eye and is literally overflowing with talent, she is also a beautiful soul who seamlessly fell into our day. The vendors your hire for your wedding day really set the vibe. You want someone you trust and will help you just enjoy the day. I’m am so awkward in front of cameras but she made it feel so natural and fun. She directed us every step of the way and I am still in shock when I look at the pictures. They are so… US. She somehow got our personalities and love story to shine through her pictures. I have no words for the moments she captured. I truly believe artists make the world go round. They bring joy and light and love with their work. And you can tell that Ray really loves what she does. She has passion for it and it shows. When I booked Ray, I felt like I had a personal hype woman. She talked with me about my dress and the details and anything really. She adds so much joy to the atmosphere and radiates light. She was a professional but felt more like a friend. Everyone at the wedding loved her, still talk about her. She got some of the grumpiest people alive to genuinely smile and captured all the deeply meaningful moments. I could feel the day, the joy, through the photos. She also worked seamlessly with my wedding planner and videographer. It was a dream team that I didn’t have to direct at all. They just did it. Which I needed because I was lost with wedding planning. Ray is an extremely hard worker and worked tirelessly to get our photos to us quick. In the middle of wedding season, she blessed us with 15 sneak peak pictures the morning after the wedding. Those photos WOWED us beyond words, I would have been happy with just those. I framed every single one. Then she delivered the entire gallery and we laughed/cried/awed over them for days. I can’t look at them without getting emotional. If you’re looking for someone talented as well as down to earth and genuine, hire Ray. I cannot recommend her enough, she was absolutely immaculate in everything she did. She has magic and I stand by that. Good luck planning and show my girl some love!

capture so effortlessly. Our wedding was an elopement style wedding and I was very drawn to the fact that her work stood out to me as more than just a photographer, but a storyteller in the truest sense of the word. On the day of the wedding we started to realize that the weather was not going to corporate. I was stressed and immediately did what I felt was the safest bet. I came to the sad realization that our original plan of outdoor mountaintop wedding would have to be indoors and I would have to be ok with it. Just when I saw that vision start to disappear Ray showed up. She was a force of positivity and a Ray of light. She urged me to "go for it, take the risk...make the memories!" We got soaked on that mountaintop, laughed, cried with happiness and had the time of our lives dancing in the rain under the twinkling lights...and I will forever thank Ray for that. I realized then that when you hire a photographer that person you are hiring is far more than just capturing the moments, they are a powerful energy source shaping your day...make sure it's the right one. I cannot thank Ray enough for being the amazing person and energy she is. The photos came back and I was amazed. I will forever cherish and appreciate you Ray. 💛

on our day. Even our guests were raving about how much they enjoyed her company. My goodness though….her work….it’s STUNNING. I always dreamed of having those amber sunset shots and she was more than happy to make sure we got them. She was even willing and eager to run through a field of cow manure to make sure we got the perfect shots! Ray, thank you so much for capturing our love in photographs that we can cherish for a lifetime.

ot a fan of having my photos taken but she made the process so easy and fun and just took all my worries away. All of our wedding party also loved hanging out with her taking photos, she is so so good with people. If you are considering booking her or reaching out we would really recommend you do so. You won't regret it! She gave us the most amazing photos as well as so many fun memories from both our engagement session and wedding.

itself, our photos are beautiful and we felt comfortable the whole time. What really blew us away is how much FUN we had working with her, so did our guests! She was supportive, helpful, friendly, and FUN. She helped us have the best day of our lives and captured it beautifully. Can’t recommend enough

Ray was flexible, helpful, and communicative throughout the whole process. Not only is she a true professional (punctual, polite, and pleasant), but she is also an artist who takes her craft very seriously. My wedding pictures are absolutely stunning- she really captured the day perfectly. Ray also had a way of making us feel very comfortable in front of the camera. On your wedding day there are, of course, lots of staged shots and sometimes it can feel a little awkward if you aren't used to it. Ray really put us at ease and made everything feel very natural which resulted in great photos. I highly, highly recommend Ray!

visiting the mountains, taking photos with Ray was the absolute best part. Ray is one of the most friendly humans we’ve ever met. From the very first moment we met her, we felt as if she was a friend we knew all of our lives. Her spirit is so pure and genuine! Although we took pictures in the freezing cold weather, we had a blast! Ray made us feel so comfortable we felt as if she wasn’t even there. I would definitely recommend letting Ray capture your life’s most precious moments. I promise you will not only love her but the amazing pictures she will capture!

than we could have imagined. She’s so organized and she has all of these wildly unique spots that she’s discovered for the perfect photoshoot. I can’t recommend Rachel enough, we worked with her for our maternity photoshoot and we will definitely be working with her again!

I felt so special and lucky to have her capture our wedding day (and previously with our engagement photos, and next year for wedding round 2!)! As someone who is very camera shy yet wants all of the moments captured impeccably I felt drawn to Ray's portfolio years before we were engaged - her photos are full of life and light, and so is she! She brings an energy and passion for her work and photos that truly sets her apart. Not only is Ray's work amazing, but her professionalism and level of support for her couples is unparalleled - she worked with us through multiple different wedding day changes and went above and beyond to make our day beautiful and unforgettable. I highly recommend working with Ray, and can't wait to see the other couples she works with in the future!

possibly ask for, Ray is the answer. She had the absolute perfect blend of energy, professionalism, and talent to capture the feeling of love and family throughout every moment of our wedding day. I am not the kind of person that is comfortable in front of the camera, and she made it feel like second nature. She definitely knows how to bring the fun, but also how to keep things moving so that you can get all the shots you want and then get back to partying. We cannot recommend Ray highly enough. If you're reading this, you've found your photographer!

most amazing photos. She comes with ideas of her own to help guide you and pays a lot of attention to the kind of experience you want for your day. We wanted a sweet morning vow exchange and brunch in our town, somewhat of a change from the more dramatic backgrounds people have in nature but WOW she made it look just as stunning as any mountaintop. We are so thankful for her. Could not recommend more highly!! ❤️❤️

thetics caught our eye, and from her email response to our initial inquiry alone, my husband and I knew she was the one. She is personable, professional, responsive, and makes you feel completely comfortable in front of the camera. Ray was our engagement and wedding photographer for 2020, and even with all the stress and ambiguity that came with the year, we could feel nothing but happiness and love all around in Ray's presence. There was a lot of rescheduling and adjustments due to COVID, but there was no stress or difficulty in doing so with Ray. She was so flexible and ready for whatever plans we had in mind, and any doubt we had in the changes was washed away with Ray's enthusiasm. We did a sunset photoshoot for our engagement photos and Ray would scramble up and down the mountain peaks to get the best shots. My husband is camera shy and avoids photoshoots at all costs, but Ray got him to loosen up, have him enjoy the session and even got him to look forward to our wedding photoshoots! Our wedding was at a restored estate and Ray captured the people and the vibe so beautifully, the photos look like a staged shoot from a Vogue or Vanity Fair magazine! Even our bridal party couldn't rave enough about her. The best part was Ray hyped us all up on the dance floor and got some incredible action shots! Ray is not only an amazing photographer, she has an amazing soul. She radiates positivity and is a joy to be around. We feel so fortunate to have crossed paths with her and if we have the chance to work with her again, we would do so 100%!

that in the photos she captures. You will see happiness and love shining through in every single shot. As soon as we met Ray, we felt like we knew her as a long lost friend that we were just reuniting with. I can't imagine having anyone else as our photographer, and we can't wait to have her on our wedding day capture even more amazing moments we will cherish for a lifetime!! Thank you so much Ray for everything! You're the best out there!

Valley in October 2020, our plans obviously changed quite a bit. Ray rolled with the punches in an unprecedented year and helped us reimagine our large wedding into an elopement in Shenandoah National Park. Working with her was a joy - she is a radiant, down to earth being who is as fun to hang out with as she is exceptional at photography. She went out of her way to make our day special - down to the six-pack of local IPA and the bouquet of flowers that she hand-delivered to us from Charlottesville as we didn't have time to go pick up the flowers ourselves. Our sunset elopement session with her was an absolute blast and her photos simply took our breath away. She is an incredibly talented artist - not only an amazing portrait photographer but also a skilled nature photographer. Like many of her other clients, we were originally drawn to her by her ability to seamlessly combine these two types of photography, and our elopement gallery was beyond what we could have hoped for in this regard. If you are reading this, it means you're considering hiring Ray, and please take my word for it - you will not regret it. The rest of her five-star reviews don't lie.

us Fall leaves (because you don’t see any seasons in FL lol). We found Ray on instagram and started planning our photoshoot. Since we were coming from Florida, she was so kind to give her recommendations on where we should shoot and even where we should visit while we were in Virgina through many back-and-forth emails. Day of, it felt like we were close friends and made us feel like models. And then when we got our pictures, our jaws dropped! We had the BEST pictures (and tons of pics) that captured everything we were looking for... orange crisp leaves and magical mountains. Now we will have the pictures to forever remember our wonderful vacation! Ray is the best and her quality, communication, and sweetness is beyond what you can ask for!!!

ures, because we were genuinely having fun with her the whole time! We weren't the only ones to notice and got so many compliments from our bridal party and wedding guests.

so comforting. Coupling professionalism with love and fun in any space, place, or size! It is always a great joy to work with Ray. You will find not only that you get wonderful heirloom photos to cherish from her; but amazing memories when you look back on how they were created. She truly is a treasure of a photographer.

eedless to say, we were couldn't have asked for a better Plan B with Ray's radiant and positive energy by our side. We opted for a small intimate ceremony with our immediate family at a local cidery and live streamed our wedding on YouTube for our guests to tune it. On top of that, Ray was so thoughtful by incorporating Spanish influences in our Virginia celebration such as colorful smoke bombs to represent to beautiful Spanish cliffs where our ceremony was to be held. We cannot thank Ray enough for adding that special touch to our special day and capturing every moment. From day one Ray was professional, attentive to our needs/wants, and up for any adventure we threw her way!
