Honestly it’s sickening to read so many reviews that are exactly the experience we had with Jen in May 2023. We were excited to hire her based on her previous work, but what we end...
ed up with was far from the quality with expected. Along with her showing up under-dressed, she was awkward to work with, gave us no direction in posing or positioning, had very little suggestions for photos to take, and I felt like I had to take the lead on asking for certain photos to be taken. I ended up not having any solo bridal photos, was lacking a lot of specific shots, and there are photos I know we took that we never received. I also had to specifically grab her from our reception for golden hour photos. But honestly that’s not as bad as the MONTHS of followup it took to try to get our images back. And once we got them they were unedited and incredibly disappointing. My biggest regret is hiring Jen, the photos we have as a result of hiring her, and the anxiety and stress I still have 2+ years later when I think back on our wedding and the choice I made to hire her.
As others have said, working with Jen was a nightmare. She did not communicate a week before the wedding. She was awkward during the day, one time crying during the reception while...
she was taking photos. Like others who wrote, she ghosted us for MONTHS. We got our photos 8 month afterward and they were not edited. Personal crisis or not, this is a business. Do your job. It is so tragic to me that I have to think about this when I think about my wedding.
Do not work with this photographer. We had high hopes for Jennifer upon meeting, and liked the albums of her previous work. She was fine on our actual day, and then completely drop...
ped the ball from that point on. She verbally promised previews and we (unfortunately) trusted her. We didn’t see a single photo from our wedding for almost 3 months. We had a private ceremony so we had not a single photo even on a phone from our day. After panicking that she didn’t actually have our pictures, she did send the unedited album. We are 8 months out from our wedding and still don’t have our completed edits. She has been unwilling to communicate, has told us deadlines and then repeatedly not kept them, and has now stopped answering us. In the beginning process she cited personal reasons and we were very understanding, but now realize we were completely taken advantage of. By far the worst and most stressful part of our wedding process has been working with Jennifer.
I truly wish I could leave a positive review, but my experience with Prism Concepts was frustrating and disappointing.
Cons:
Extremely Poor Communication: Leading up to the we...
dding, she was unreliable, almost canceling our engagement shoot last minute despite knowing we were traveling from out of state. After the wedding, her lack of responsiveness was unacceptable. I followed up multiple times over several days regarding our sneak peek photos and received no response. Eventually, I became concerned when I noticed her old website was down and she had received multiple 1-star reviews since we booked her. Only after I texted, called, and requested all raw photos (out of fear that she had ghosted us) did she finally respond—claiming personal matters. While I completely understand that life happens, a simple message acknowledging the delay would have been appreciated. Instead, I was left in the dark, repeatedly following up.
Unkept Promises & Delays: She assured me we would receive our photos by a certain date, only to miss the deadline again. After yet another follow-up, she mentioned she had undergone a medical procedure—which, again, I would have been understanding of had she communicated it upfront instead of making empty promises. Finally, after more delays and multiple check-ins, she sent our raw photos late at night. It is now March, and my wedding was in October, I have yet to see a single edited photo – still waiting on a response from her (I have reached out over 48 hours ago).
Lack of Professionalism & Direction: Throughout the wedding day, she did not come across as personable or engaged. Several guests and family members commented that she seemed to be not want to be there rather than blending into the joy of the day. Additionally, she did not provide much direction for posing, despite me sending inspiration photos. As a bride, I had a million things on my mind and expected my photographer to take the lead—especially when it came to ensuring I had key moments captured. Unfortunately, I have very few photos with my parents and bridesmaids at the reception, which could have easily been remedied had she taken initiative.
Pros:
The raw photos themselves were fine, though I wish my vision had been followed more closely.
The price was competitive, and we received a good discount.
Overall, while the raw photos may have turned out okay, the stress, poor communication, and lack of professionalism throughout the process made this an incredibly frustrating experience. I would not recommend Prism Concepts to future brides looking for a reliable and engaged photographer. I hope I get to see my edited photos soon.
Look somewhere else for photos. Paid her well in advance before the wedding. After trying to reach her on all social media platforms, we had to reach out to her ex husband to even ...
get her to pick up the phone about details for the day of. (Our first red flag) Now it’s been 3 months since our wedding and we still have yet to even see a preview of our photos. Never got the “sneak peak” that was promised in the contract. Said she would send us our unedited photos 3 separate times and yet still haven’t seen them. Pretty sure we will never see our photos at this point.
UPDATE: I did receive the photos a couple hours after posting this review. So I have updated my rating from a 1 to a 2 star.
My biggest regret of planning my wedding was hiring Prism Concepts Photography. Getting any information about our photos was like pulling teeth. It took over a month to get our pre...
view pictures, and that was after having to reach out several times with no answer. Our final album took over 5 months to receive, and again, that was after reaching out several times with either no response or with continual delays. When we did finally receive our album, the pictures appear to have all been edited using the same filter. Everyone's skin is overly smoothed, and birthmarks on my face and my husbands face have been removed entirely, something I did not ask for and would never have asked for. Despite my otherwise joyous wedding, I do not enjoy looking at my wedding pictures.
We were scammed. We hired Prism Concepts for our wedding for October 7, 2023. We only received a preview of our photos nearly a year and have reached out multiple times asking for ...
completion. We paid in full and have been ghosted by this business, we have contacted the BBB and they couldn’t even get an answer from her. We have reached out multiple times and haven't had any resolution or any response from the owner. The photos we did receive are barely edited and not in the style we had requested. Not to mention she arrived nearly two hours late on the actual day of the wedding. Needless to say, we have learned our lesson the hardest of ways on our most special day.
We were checking out our venue when we ran into Jen, she was working the wedding that was going on that day. We introduced ourselves and immediately got good vibes from her, and af...
ter checking out her portfolio we decided we wanted her to to be our wedding photographer. We were pretty overwhelmed with wedding stuff so when it came to what kind of photos we wanted we just said "we trust you" and she took the reigns and did her thing. Well after receiving the photos back we couldnt have been more thrilled with how our even was captured. Between all of the portraits and event photos, which are incredible, she also took lots of great detail shots showing all of the decor and venue, which really is great because our family worked very hard to make it all, and that is something we were really happy to see captured. Every photo in the collection (of which there were many) was beautifully captured and thoughtfully framed without being cheesy or over styled. They are timeless heirlooms we will cherish for the rest of our lives!
After endlessly researching and meeting with multiple photographers, I knew Jen was perfect for the job from the second I met her. She knew everything there is to know about weddin...
g photography, and well, her incredible photos speak for themselves! From the engagement photos to the wedding day itself, she made the hours of photo taking feel so natural and stress free. She is so incredibly patient and kind, always answering my panicked questions and assuring me the day would be perfect. She captured our day perfectly. I could not have imagined my wedding without her!
This wonderful woman was by far the best vendor that I had dealt with for our wedding on July 25, 2020. I chose Prism Concepts because it was obvious that her photos were unique an...
d beautiful but I could tell from the first conversation that she knew what she was doing and that what she does means a lot to her. I knew I would not have to worry when it came to our wedding photos. This was such a stressful time to get married and she definitely helped turn this into the wonderful experience that it should have been. AMAZING photographer and hand down best decision I made!!! Can not wait to have babies eventually to be able to work with her again lol 😂💗
Jen was great to work with and really provided us with wonderful pictures from our wedding. She took into consideration the moments and people that we wanted photographed, but also...
put her own creativity into the mix. We have some really unique pictures from our special day that we would not have had if our photographer just took the standard photos on our list. We would highly recommend Prism Concepts Photography!
When my husband and I booked Jen for our wedding we had no actually spoken to her, just looked at her work on her website. My wedding planner handled the rest. The first time I tal...
ked/saw her was on my wedding day. We lived out of state and so getting together before the wedding was near impossible.
When we met she immediately put me at ease for everything to do with the pictures. She constantly told me what she was doing, where she was in the picture timeline. During the whole process she was professional and very personable. We clicked right away and it felt like I was working with a close friend. Her sense of humor was perfect and she knew how to make my husband and I laugh. She was there through the reception and got all the pictures I could ask for. She let me know all the photos she got before she left and asked if there was anything else she needed to get before she headed out. She was perfect.
She got us our sneak peak pictures quickly and they were outstanding. I fell in love with them immediately and cried looking at them. And that wasn't even all of them. If you are looking for an outstanding photographer who loves what they do, and who will give you quality work. This is the photographer that you want to book. She is PHENOMENAL.

e opportunity to personally drop off our pictures which was a bonus for us! We received our pictures last week and they are simply beautiful. The day was so busy but our pictures captured each moment perfectly from beginning to end- all of stress of planning our day was worth it, every little detail was captured. Our pictures will be in our family for generations and they are timeless! They are in the moment pictures and just show how much fun everyone had! We would highly recommend Prism Concepts!
We used Jenn for our engagement session, and again (with her sister) for our wedding. They have done a stunning job and I cannot thank them enough for everything

r it was like hanging out with a friend. Jen and her sister worked hard to get our vision and really took our theme into consideration. Our pictures are beautiful and we are so happy with the quality and variety of images we have of our special day. Their attention to detail is impeccable, if you like the small details these gals are for you!

es! We bought the rights to our photos so now we can print whenever and I was able to make my own album and print out a few pictures for each member of my bridal party. This is HUGE, some other photographers will charge upwards of $20/print! She had a great deal going (we booked a year in advance through a recommendation from a friend) and she was very willing to work with our budget. She truly enjoys being a photographer and it is evident in her work! I highly recommend Prism Concepts. Book with them and you'll be in good hands. Remember, after the big day all you have left are the memories and pictures, and I'll tell you what, my pictures and memories are truly amazing!
Me and my husband worked with Jen for both our engagement photo's and wedding. I can honestly say that choosing Prism Concepts was one of the best decisions we made for our weddin...
g. Not only was their services affordable for us, but the quality of our photo's were unmatched!
Jen helped make our day special and fun by being so easy to work with. Furthermore, she did not miss a single moment. I truly relive my entire wedding day over and over as I look at all the high quality and perfectly shot photo's, which captured every special moment of our day!
I would recommend them to anyone!

m to shoot our wedding. Very professional people who care about what you want on your special day, they made us feel very comfortable.
I never once felt like I needed to micro-manage, they knew exactly what types of photos to take and surprised us with some very creative ones.
We had a very small window of time to take our pictures(less than an hour) and after going through the photos you would have never guessed, the way Jen took control and knew what she wanted made everything go so smoothly. We have already received lots compliments on our photos and have recommended this company to many of our friends. You don't just want anyone following you around on your wedding you want someone that feels like a friend that you've known you for years and understands what you are looking for, that's Jen and Prism Concepts Photography. Thanks again for all the great memories you captured for us.

ll as provided suggestions to help make the order of events run as smoothly as possible. They began our wedding day by coming to our house to take pictures of the bridal party getting ready as well as first look pictures, which we received many compliments for their incredible ability to have captured that special and unique moment! They not only gave us a questionnaire prior to the wedding, but they also allowed for us to give our own photo ideas and input on our wedding day! Not to mention that we as well as everyone else who sees them are absolutely in love with how our photos turned out, and they gave us our photos in such a timely manner! I highly recommend Prism Concepts to be your photographers for any occasion!
We absolutely could not have asked for better photographers! They did such a wonderful job! We've only seen a sneak-peek of our photos so far, but just from that we can tell they'r...
e going to be gorgeous! Jen and Mike are so creative and easy to work with! Our friend's daughter is studying photography and they actually talked to her about different shots and pointers, which was so nice. They worked really well with our videographers too! My sister is getting married later this year and she's decided to book with them as well. We'd definitely recommend Prism Concepts Photography to anyone in need of a photographer!

e were so many interesting shots and angels that she suggested and was very open to all of our ideas and using the props that we brought with us. She previewed some of our photos on Facebook with artistic touches that she added and they looked fabulous. I cannot wait to see the CD of all of the photos that she took! Jen was professional, efficient, and easy-going throughout our ceremony and reception. Highly recommended!

the photos I wanted from my "mock photos." I am sincerely happy I chose them for our special day and would refer them to anyone. Very reasonable price for the service and quality. He stayed the majority of the whole event and got great shots. Everyone commented that our photographer was super nice! Beautiful day, Beautiful memories, Beautiful photos. Thanks PrismConceptsPhotography!

ate to say how disappointed we were in this service for our wedding. When a friend offers to edit the printed picture that was sent to us as part of our package from the photographer, you know that's bad. I just figured we had to deal with the poor quality of the print they sent us and my friend told me that he could fix up their mistakes without a problem! That's a shame we had to reach out to someone else. We went with an affordable photographer because it is an expensive service, and we got what we paid for (it still wasn't cheap). We had some beautiful spaces to take pictures and they apparently did not have the skills to utilize what was naturally provided for them. We have not one decent picture of our entire bridal party. Literally several of our attendants heads are blocked by each other because they didn't take the time to reposition people. When I shared my disappointment with them regarding the outcome of our photos they barely offered anything to make the situation better. They edited a few things (which should have been done in the first place without my guidance) and that was it. I suppose it would be difficult to turn heads around in photos, or go back in time to position people the right way. Don't waste your money!! I was impressed by what I saw on their website and so sad at the product we received. I researched many many photographers..I wish I would have researched further!
The pictures are gorgeous! Mike and Jan are very nice! I had a blessed time with them! Strongly recommended prism concepts photography!

to use as my photographer, I came across many companies that put a time frame on how long you can use them and I wasn't happy with the limited amount of hours and how costly it was. That is one of the many reasons I chose Prism Concepts Photogrpahy. The effects she puts on the photos is wonderful! It was so much fun working with her and our entire bridal party. I haven't even seen a quarter of the photos from the big day and I already love every single one I've seen so far! Highly recommend!!!

plentiful and amazing! It is clear when working with them that they have a passion for photography and create a connection with the entire bridal party! th extremely professional and made us feel completely comfortable the entire time. They came up with some wonderful and very creative ideas for pictures. We received an extremely large amount of professional pictures on a disk within a few weeks of our wedding. They truly captured the emotion and joy of the day felt by my husband and I as well as our family and all of our guests. I couldn't be happier with the amazing quality of my pictures or with the entire experience that we had with Mike and Jen! I have already recommended them to multiple people and will continue to recommend them. We couldn't be happier!

for photos while at the same time being open to suggestions of what YOU want on your day.
Received our pictures on a disk in a very timely matter and they came out awesome!
The only thing I was a little bummed about while looking through all of the pictures was that the reception pictures were all of one group of people (anyone on the dance floor). There were a lot of guests that didn't really hit the dance floor, so I don't have any nice pictures of them (mostly my and the grooms family).

Prism concepts photography photographed my wedding on 05/11/2013 and I am incredibly satisfied with their work! I was looking for a photographer who did not require me to purchase ...
an expensive package with items that I did not want. I wanted amazing pictures on discs for me to do as I wished with. While at the wedding and reception I did not even notice her taking pictures and I was able to just enjoy my day. I had asked for the pictures to be sent to my address after my return from the honeymoon and they were there within a few days of my return. I received many discs with many BEAUTIFUL pictures. Everyone I show them to loves the pictures. There was a great open communication with the company and they were very professional, kind, and personable. Very highly recommended!!

everything we could have asked for and more! She was great to work with and was very responsive to any questions. She was a true pleasure to have as our photographer. Prices are very reasonable, you really do get a lot more than what you pay for, and quality is excellent! They did both my engagement and wedding photos, and hopefully maternity pictures in the future :)
