Prevailing Winds Lodge Blue Mounds/Madison

teve and his team were helpful every single step of the way. Communication was speedy and top notch. The team was friendly and helpful. And c'mon--the location is perfect!

sure our day went smoothly. We had so much fun and we will never forget our day. They helped us with everything we needed with a smile on their face, and that is something we will never forget. We 100% recommend this venue. We couldn’t have picked a better place for our wedding!

to have family and her maid of honor stay with us prior to the wedding and then come back to relax on Sunday to watch the bride and groom open their gifts. The lodge if full of everything you need and we had prompt support when we had questions. My family all said we need to come back for a family gathering.

to check in and answer any questions we had. He is extremely responsive and texted us back always within minutes. We felt fully supported throughout the entire planning process and he truly made our wedding dreams come true. When the big weekend came around, everything was perfect. The grounds at Prevailing Winds were breathtaking and groomed to perfection. Steve was already working with our booked vendors to make sure everything was setup and coordinated. We were battling with on and off rain the entire weekend. Part of the way through the reception, literal TORNADOS hit and the whether got really intense really fast. Steve and his team took AMAZING care of us and were out in the rain sopping wet head to toe holding down the tent, putting up sidewalls, moving things that needed to be moved, etc. There are not enough words to express our gratitude for their dedication to ensure everything ran smoothly and stayed under control. Us as well as our wedding party loved staying in the beautiful lodge all together, you cannot put a price on that special time. We highly recommend booking Prevailing Winds Lodge for your wedding, you absolutely will not regret it.

ental deliveries. The lodge was stocked to accommodate our wedding party of 14 people very comfortably. A few from the wedding party took an amazing bike ride on the morning before the wedding and it was an incredible ride into Blue Mounds. Hosting our wedding here felt like an extension of home and also a serene destination wedding. Our guests are still raving about the beautiful venue weeks later. Prevailing Winds gave us the flexibility to host exactly the vendors we wanted and our best decision of the wedding planning process was booking this venue. I can’t wait to come back again soon, it has a place in my day dreams for ever and ever.

rofessional, they are also a group of some of the nicest people we have ever met. The week leading up to our wedding and the day of our wedding felt so much more relaxed and manageable than we expected thanks to the guidance, support, and enthusiasm of the Prevailing Winds team. For weeks following our wedding we received compliments on how kind and helpful the Prevailing Winds staff were and how gorgeous the property was. We highly recommend this venue and will definitely be back for a weekend stay in the future!

on site. It was absolutely beautiful! So quiet and peaceful, with the opportunity to throw a very personalized wedding weekend. Steve and the staff were happy to help with anything we needed, and they were a fun bunch to hang out with. The lodge came with a fully stocked kitchen so that we could cook for 16 people during the weekend. We also took advantage of the prime biking routes in the area and did a group ride to Mount Horeb and Blue Mounds. Our wedding guests continue to rave about how amazing our wedding was, and I really hope my husband and I will be back soon.

set) all contributed to a beautiful wedding event. We used their lighting, and it made the night magical. In addition, Steve and his staff were so helpful and professional in planning as well as supporting the event. Our group stayed in the lodge and it was wonderful to be in one place together from rehearsal through the day after all events. I would highly recommend this space for any event.

nd had great advice on who to go through. The venue was absolutely breathtaking and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect spot for our more remote wedding to share with our family and friends. We will definitely be returning for future stays with our family and friends.

ter wedding and a better reception area. Steve was super helpful. He was great I connecting with all our vendors on our behalf to coordinate drop off and pick up. He was also very funny and comical. He was also very professional and took care of us to the highest extent. I would highly recommend this Property to anybody who is looking for a weekend away, a wedding, venue event, A family get together together, The building was absolutely spotless. Everything was nice and clean. We had a great time and I think his wife for the best wedding I could ever hope for.

e to stay on their wedding weekend and host their friends and family there. The grounds make a beautiful backdrop for an outdoor ceremony under the trees. The venue also has lots of space for an outdoor reception under a tent. I would definitely recommend booking your wedding ceremony and reception here!

re and Steve was incredible throughout the entire process. From day one he was there to answer or facilitate the answer to any question. Wedding coordinator not even necessary with this guy on your side. Even his response time was amazing. Immediately. Always. (I even received a response to a 2AM question within 15 minutes. The man must not sleep.) The venue is stunning. TOUR IT. See for yourself. It’s the great outdoors meets first class eloquence at its finest. We’re so grateful to have stumbled on this little (not so little really) slice of heaven and couldn’t have made it the masterpiece it was without the PWL team. ❤️

ed it was like we also hired a wedding planner that knew our venue so well. Their personalized wedding guide was our best resource for vendors, layouts, timelines and all the little tricks you never think of since most of us have never planned a wedding before. The only thing that outshined the staff was the venue itself. The lodge was the perfect place to relax throughout a high stress weekend. Being able to have all our people with us for a couple of days allowed us to build memories that will far outlast any wedding video. We loved that we had multiple options for a ceremony location and the views from the prairie are as good as the views from Blue Mound State Park. We also loved the breeze blowing through the prairie and the fact that we could use the natural backdrop of wildflowers to save money on crazy decorations. We wish we could give 10 stars and a live testimonial for all that this venue helped us create on our special weekend.

the lodge is INCREDIBLE. It was so much fun being able to have our wedding party stay there at the lodge with us for the entire weekend. Our guests could not stop complimenting the location. The owners, Steve and Jen, are great people. Let's be honest, planning a wedding is stressful, but working with Steve and Jen made it way easier. They were not only professional and attentive, but also genuinely caring and invested in making our day unforgettable. From the initial planning stages to the final farewell, their dedication to ensuring every detail was executed flawlessly was evident.

lear, and informative. We knew within the first 5 minutes of meeting with Steve (in the dead of winter) that this was where we wanted to get married the following summer, Steve himself literally sold the venue knowing that he was coming along with it. The lodge is incredible and the prairie is jaw dropping at sunset. If we had to plan our wedding over again we would choose prevailing winds lodge 100 times over.

well forget about decorations because everyone will be enamored with the view. Steve and crew were so helpful with every aspect of our weekend. They were a positive force to be reckoned with that handled issues we’ll never know about because they never reached us. We can’t recommend this venue and group enough (and a special shout out to Karol for all her hard work, make sure you pull her onto the dance floor so she can show you what real dancing looks like)! Our friends and family had so many wonderful things to say about the venue and Steve and crew. They truly made our wedding a special day and we will always remember our day (up until a certain point when our memories weirdly got a little hazy).

oth. Steve and his team did an amazing job helping out at our wedding! They were readily available to transport people to and from their cars or the shuttle. They went and got us extra alcohol when we ran out, and assisted with clean up! We had the most perfect and magical day and we couldn’t have done it without the help of Steve and his team! Our families and friends raved at the venue and the amazing views. They also raved about the lodge that is so spacious and the beds are so comfortable!

d and was accommodating of requests unique to our weekend. The PWL team was ready throughout our wedding day to step in to help at a moment’s notice. The lodge and surrounding grounds are absolutely stunning! We are so happy this is where we said our “I Do”s!

e and I toured it back in October 2019 and immediately fell in love. It was even clear to us back then just how amazing the owners, Jen and Steve, were/are. They pour so much sweat, hard work, and love into the property and it truly shows! We booked both the property and the lodge for the entire weekend (Thursday until Monday) since we wanted the ability to spend more time with our wedding parties. They ended up loving it just as much as we do! Our friends and family are still raving about how beautiful it was and how they appreciated being able to have that time together all weekend since it goes so fast. We've made so many memories we won't soon forget. We also hosted the rehearsal dinner at the lodge and it was seriously perfect! Before the big day there is no way to appreciate just how much Steve & their staff do day-of, but now that we witnessed it firsthand, I can tell you wholeheartedly that they're there for EVERYTHING. Whether it's coordinating vendors' set up and arrivals the day before, talking you down and giving you a confidence boost before you walk down the aisle, passing out waters at 1am, or taking your stuff back to the cabin at 2am from the tent, Steve truly does it all! I don't know what we would've done without him. It's like having 10 built-in day-of coordinators to help you with anything and everything. Like I said before, booking PWL as our wedding venue was seriously the best decision we made in the entire wedding planning process. If you're reading this review wondering if you should book it or not, PLEASE do yourself a huge favor and book it! You will seriously have the best time and Steve, Jen, and their staff will make sure that your wedding day is your dream come true. We have nothing but love and gratitude for PWL, Steve, Jen, and their staff! We will cherish our memories for the rest of our lives and they all are a HUGE part of that!

of our needs were addressed. We were very impressed with their setup and planning knowledge as they were able to advise about various details. There were a lot of little aspects that we had not even considered, and they had answers before we even had questions! The fact that you and your wedding party can stay at the lodge make the whole experience that much better. It was really nice to be able to relax before, during, and after the wedding day without the worry of travel. The entire setup is fantastic and their logistics handling is excellent. We had three different rental companies as well as a band and DJ, and all were able to drop off their equipment in coordination with the PWL crew. Overall we are confident we made the right decision to choose this place for our special day. We are forever grateful for the memories we made, and are already planning on a future stay for an anniversary celebration.

wners Jen and Steve are an incredibly thoughtful and caring couple. They went above and beyond meeting and exceeding our expectations. Thank you so very much! Ken and Audra Johnson-New Glarus

like part of the family by the time the wedding rolled around. They constantly checked on all the guests making sure they could get everything done to make the day perfect. It is a whole experience staying at the lodge and having all wedding events right there. From staying at the lodge to walking up the prairie surrounded by wildflowers and rolling hills to the clear top tent on the prairie on the hottest day of the year, it was something we and our guests will never forget. We had the best day & can not thank you enough!

our wedding with our close friends and family. Steve and Jen were awesome and such a big help on our wedding day! They were readily available for anything we needed and helped coordinate all the vendor arrivals, etc. We would HIGHLY recommend this vendor for your special day!

d for your wedding day and are there for you for anything you need. They are so knowledgeable and so helpful with whatever questions you have or if you need help with something. They helped make my wedding run so smoothly and I felt like I was cared for. I highly recommend!!!

inds Lodge. Our big day was perfect and stress free, thanks to their expertise. The location of the lodge is absolutely breathtaking, allowing for amazing pictures. We had guests from out of town stay with us at the lodge before the wedding and the amenities were great. Could not have been happier with our experience.

hill, and the views are breathtaking. The lodge and grounds are beautiful. We had our rehearsal dinner in the lodge for about 30 people. There was plenty of space, and the lodge is equipped with everything you need. The entire weekend, everyone made sure things were running smoothly, from coordinating vendors to parking to getting me, the bride, to the altar! I was touched by how much they cared. All of our guests were very impressed with the venue and grounds, and our wedding party suggested that we have anniversary celebrations at the venue because we would all like to go back to the wonderful lodge! Last, but important point, we had a “budget friendly” wedding and, you get a lot more than you pay for with Prevailing Winds!

had people telling me I was the chillest bride they'd ever seen. That's only because I knew Steve was there taking care of everything. Incredibly knowledgeable. Always responsive. We could not have asked for a better venue and team of people helping on our wedding day.

rs, helping us work through the inevitable last minute exigencies, and generally ensuring everything went smoothly so that both we and guests enjoyed ourselves as much as possible. The grounds and lodge are incredible in and of themselves, but the way they run the show puts them above and beyond. Would do it all again tomorrow with no reservations.

having our wedding at their lodge is that everything was customizable and no two weddings are alike. They were very helpful in the planning stages with great ideas and tips as well as recommending vendors for other items that were needed which really helped get things rolling immediately. Having the ability to dance and enjoy time with family and friends past the “standard everyone else’s venue” nowadays reception ending time was a huge decision factor. Having the ability to cater our reception dinner and drinks through whoever we would like was wonderful. I can’t say enough about this place and everyone their that helped make our day perfect in our own way.

e us a list of wonderful venders to work with and they were there to keep us calm and collected throughout our wedding process! If you are looking for a place that allows you to make your wedding "yours"... with catering, DJ, decorations and anything else you can think of. Choose Prevailing Winds Lodge! We sure got our fairytale wedding! Thank you Prevailing Winds for everything! Weeks later we are still remembering how spectacular our day was and how impressed our guests were at everything. Thank you! Thank you! Ps: Karo was one of the most amazing people to work with! She did so much for me and went out of her way to make sure everything was how it needed to be!

ideas out and made us feel very comfortable and had a very good understanding of what we were picturing. Guests were all shuttled in on golf carts which many enjoyed all handled by Steve and his crew. We had 300+ guests and not one hiccup. Also the cabin is a bonus with plenty of room for you and your wedding party to stay and party. 12/10!

with, and so helpful! We loved this beautiful venue and wouldn’t have changed a thing! Many guests told us that this was the most beautiful wedding they’ve ever been to!

ays says to expect a couple things to go wrong, and just roll with it. But with Steve that didn’t happen, he was making things roll the way they were supposed to and fixing things before we even thought of it, made the entire thing go so smoothly. We truly had the best day. We are so thankful for him and his team!

ing things going behind the scenes the whole weekend. We’re SO grateful we found this place!!

d so responsive to all of my questions over our almost 3 years of planning! Our entire wedding party stayed in the lodge Friday and Saturday night of our wedding weekend and it was amazing having everyone together in one place- talk about relaxing! It is a whole experience staying at the lodge and having all wedding events right there. I truly can’t even put it into words! From staying at the lodge to walking up the prairie surrounded by wildflowers and rolling hills to the clear top tent on the prairie, it was something we and our guests will never forget. THANK YOU!

venue. Steve and Karo were extremely helpful from start to finish from setup to take down. We were really happy we went with Prevailing Winds Lodge and look forward to visiting again soon!

ight before/after the wedding.

eve and his team were everywhere making sure things ran smoothly. You also get to stay in the lodge with all of your closest family and friends, what could be better? It is hard for them to explain everything they will do for you to help you with your wedding. You definitely don't need a wedding planner! The communication in all the time leading up to our weekend was impeccable. And the communication the weekend of was even better! I was so relaxed and I knew I could trust them. My 87 year old grandmother even requested a cup of coffee at the ceremony (which we didn't have) but we told Karo and she made it happen!! Needless to say, this is absolutely the PERFECT venue and worth every cent. Have your wedding here. You will not regret it!

been amazing at email and text communication- giving us advice, helping us plan and that continued the minute we stepped on site for the actual event. Our wedding weekend was incredible and more than we could have dreamt of because of how hard Steve and his team work. We had some interesting family dynamics (I mean is it wedding without this??) and Steve was a so effortless in his problem solving for us. He and his team (Karo!) were just so on top of everything. We are so grateful. We can't wait to come back.

he entire property was beautiful. It was great having the entire weekend and not have to worry about cleaning up the night of. Cannot say enough good things about Prevailing Winds Lodge!

us navigate this switch in such a short time period. You cannot go wrong with PWL - with the stunning views, an inviting lodge and 5 star service you will have the wedding of your dreams!

e lodge we were amazed and felt welcomed. The owners made our day feel stress free. Throughout the whole day we had the owners and the event manger working with us just as much as the bridal party. The owners and the manger felt like family by the time the wedding rolled around. They constantly checked on all the guest making sure they could get everything done to make the day perfect. The event manager was so quick and efficient with every task, we could not believe everything was taken care of moments after being asked. They helped us with last minute decorations, setting up the tent and chairs for the ceremony and reception. The event manager stepped up so much by showing the lodge to the photographers and making sure all the vendors we hired made our day perfect. She managed to make sure there were no issues and caught the possibility of issues so we ended up not having any. They worked so hard and made everything possible even with a pandemic going on to make sure it was cleaned and safe for all of our guests. We are so thrilled we had our wedding at Prevailing Winds Lodge. We can not wait to go back and spend an anniversary or a few back at the lodge!! We hope to come back to the beautiful lodge and see everyone who made our day amazing and a dream come true! Thank you from the bottom our our hearts!!

views of the local landscape. Steve, Jen and Karo were there to help us with every aspect of the wedding and went out of their way to make our dreams unfold into reality. They made suggestions regarding setup, organization, timing, and vendors, that were extremely helpful for us out-of-towners. The lodge was spacious yey warm and everything you would dream of in an upscale log cabin style lodge! When I dreamt of spending time in a lodge with a large fire place, spacious kitchen, a master bedroom retreat, and other amenities, staying at the lodge was a dream come true. The property also had multiple outdoor fire pits to help create the atmosphere we were seeking for our wedding of 20 guests. This place can handle the small wedding like ours or the 150 people wedding we initially planned.
