I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Marian and Mi at Porch and Pearls! When I first started planning our wedding, I met with several planners, but Marian immediately stood out. As a physician marrying an attorney, I knew we needed someone who was exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and capable of taking the stress off our plates. Given Marian’s background as an attorney, her meticulous attention to detail, and her calm, confident demeanor, she was an easy choice. From our very first conversation, I felt completely confident that we were in good hands.
Throughout the entire planning process, Marian was organized, thoughtful, responsive, and incredibly reassuring. We were always on the same page, and I felt like she genuinely understood what we envisioned for our wedding. She has extensive knowledge of Philadelphia and the wedding industry, and her recommendations were invaluable. She knew when to offer suggestions, when to gently nudge me in the right direction, and when to simply listen. She also worked seamlessly with all of our vendors, which made everything come together beautifully.
I also have to give a special shoutout to Mi, who was also with me on the morning of our wedding! She was absolutely wonderful and helped keep everything calm, organized, and running smoothly while we were getting ready. Having her there made such a difference, and I never felt like I had to worry about the schedule or the countless little details that go into a wedding morning.
What I appreciated most about Marian and Mi was their ability to keep me calm and confident, even when things didn’t go according to plan. My mom unexpectedly ended up in the hospital the night before our wedding, which was obviously an incredibly emotional and stressful situation. My dad also had a medical scare in the church during the ceremony. Through it all, Marian was a steady, reassuring presence, and I knew that everything within her control was being taken care of.
No matter how carefully you plan a wedding, unexpected things will inevitably come up. What matters most is having the right people in your corner, and I cannot imagine having anyone better than Marian, Mi, and the Porch and Pearls team. Because of them, I was able to be fully present and enjoy what truly was the best weekend of my life.
I am so grateful we chose Porch and Pearls and would recommend them without hesitation to anyone planning a wedding in Philadelphia. They are truly exceptional!

In fact, she majored in Urban Studies at the University of Pennsylvania before earning her J.D. at Temple Law. Marian‘s passion and enthusiasm for event coordination became too strong to ignore after planning her own dream wedding in 2010. Having practiced law for ten years, Marian brings her negotiation, advocacy, quick thinking, and tactful problem solving skills to every event she handles.

The one thing I dreaded was coordinating the transportation because we had multiple venues and drop offs and she did a great job sorting that all out. We had Mi as our day of coordinator and she was the best keeping everyone in check and making sure everything ran smoothly! There was a small transportation hiccup and I had no idea until the day after all thanks to Mi! All that said, I would hire Marian and her team over and over again. She took charge of the event timeline and vendor communication - which was exactly what I needed when I was slammed with work and all of the other personal chaos that kicks into high gear in those final weeks.
On the day of our wedding, Marian was an absolute rock star. She was a step ahead of everything and kept us on schedule while also making sure my partner and I weren't stressing when we hit roadblocks (like when our family members got lost a block away from the location for formal photos or my shoe sunk into the cobblestones and got stuck). She was always nearby in case we needed anything and was proactive in solving problems before we even knew they existed. Plus, she brings an excellent, positive, and fun energy to the day!
I highly, highly recommend hiring Marian as your planner or day of coordinator. She gave me a true peace of mind that I didn't know was possible with a large event like a wedding and that was worth it a million times over.

Mi was absolutely incredible throughout the actual weekend, ensuring that everyone was in the right place at the right time. She was also extremely thoughtful, constantly checking in to make sure I was enjoying myself and that I had everything I needed. At no point was I stressed during the weekend and I can confidently say that is because of Mi!
What impressed me most was Marian and Mi’s commitment to their clients, which didn’t stop after the weekend was over. When we encountered a small mix-up with one of our vendors, Marian stepped in to manage communications and resolve the issue during the week following the wedding.

Leading up to the wedding she was on top of coordinating all our vendors, building a master timeline for the day, and answering any and all last minute questions we had. She took a large weight off us, not just during the wedding, but leading up to it, as well.
During the wedding, she constantly checked in with us and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. She went above and beyond to ensure everything ran on time and went smoothly.
I stepped in my veil right before the ceremony - huge hole. Marian calmly came to the rescue and sewed my veil back together - good as new! She was always 5 steps ahead of us, having everything taken care of and under control. Wonderful communication and major attention to detail. We cannot recommend Porch & Pearls enough!

Because of this, the wedding week was stress free and relaxed. The wedding day itself was when Marian really stood out. I wasn’t exactly sure at first what a planner did day of. What did she NOT do was the better question? She saw any issue approaching from a mile away and solved it immediately. I really wanted an intimate first look with my dad and groom- she confirmed this with me and then asked my bridesmaids to keep it private. Things like this really allowed me to be more in the moment. She literally has a masters degree in dress arranging. She laid out my skirt and veil so beautifully in pictures. She had a comb readily available as well as a number of other things I didn’t even think of. Additionally, she got so many great pictures herself that allowed me to see some behind the scenes the next day which I adored!!! She made the whole day feel effortless and smooth. She seriously had a tab on everything and every person at all times and could tell you where something was at any given moment. When my bustle went down in the beginning of the night she was right there with safety pins to save the day! Even when rain dampened my dreams for an outdoor ceremony, Marian worked quickly to move everything inside and helped create a cozy, intimate ceremony atmosphere that was just perfect.
I cannot recommend Marian and Porch & Pearls enough. If it was PC to get married all over again just have more time with Marian I would!

getting ready at a hotel, our ceremony at a church, reception at a venue, and after party at a bar, I knew we needed support for the day of our wedding to help make it all happen. With all the logistics involved, we wanted someone we could trust to run the show the entire day. After first talking with Marian, I knew she was professional, took pride in her services, and was a wedding expert! I was so impressed after our first conversation that we booked her immediately. Not only was she our Day of Coordinator, she helped us stay on track with all of our decisions and details 10+ months leading up to our wedding. She was easily accessible and provided advice and recommendations on all things wedding day (even questions with addressing invitations, providing insight on different vendors, ordering details items, etc.) all the months leading up to the wedding day. As it got closer to the wedding, she worked with our big team of vendors to ensure everyone was aligned with the overall timeline she put together and served as the main POC for them, allowing us as a couple to take a step back. She even helped us plan out the logistics of guest shuttle transportation that we booked last minute.
On our wedding day, she was right by our side every step of the way and was a comforting face to see. She kept us on schedule with everything, but was still flexible/adjusted with things that we made game-time decisions on. Having her be by our side and running the show was invaluable - and we know she was behind the scenes working with all the vendors during the day too. There were so many things she did (without us even asking) that made me realize I don’t know who would have done those things if we did not have Marian. Some examples include: keeping us on track and moving with photography/videography, opening the doors of the church before I came down the aisle, bustled my dress in the bridal suite, helped transport and setup flowers from the church to the reception, distributing tips at the end of the night, packing up personal items, texting us photos the next day, etc. She also helped keep our large bridal party (9 on each side) organized and moving throughout the day.
We are so thankful for Marian and are SO happy with our decision to hire her. I would recommend her and her services to anyone who is starting to plan their wedding!!!! Thank you for everything, Marian!
