PHOX Weddings and Events

contract was for the partial planning services- 6 meetings/walk thru & 11 hours day of. We chose this option as we are spreadsheet savvy & already had chosen all but 4-5 vendors by the time we decided to involve a planner. -HMU -Shuttle -Dessert -Rentals -Brunch day after -** Catering we ended up having a lot of back & forth that resulted in us hiring a separate bartender and placing our own alcohol order We believed Dominique to really understand our cultural needs and offer a few perks such as helping with event breakdown & receiving small packages in the ~2-3weeks prior (we had just moved away from Austin so this was a relevant convenience). However, our experience can best be summarized by what she was NOT able to do: -reply to texts the 2 days before wedding to confirm rehearsal timing -send a single message to any member of our party on wedding day. -know or inquire as to what liquor stores deliver to our venue -Know or inquire as to any type of guest transportation that isnt limousines -Send requested meeting agendas ahead of time -Send meeting summaries -stop using meeting time to fill in a redundant budget sheet -use her own spreadsheet to fill in vendor estimates (rentals being the most confusing to not track) -recommend nor send inquiries for brunch venues on your behalf -Proof read contracts for anything other than total amount -Call your caterer to make all contracts edits at once instead of emailing asynchronously after 10pm over the course of weeks -Delete out the contact information of her other clients that are on forwarded email chains between vendors. -Provide table numbers. And when asked at the rehearsal to please help with this task that was aesthetically unimportant to us but obviously pretty important to the flow of the party, she will not verbalize a response nor check in again before the party to see if you found a printer or sent a family member to a craft store. (Apparently the expense reimbursement clause of the contract wasnt even an option at this point?) -Put out more than 12 /120 guest programs (even if you provide clips, weights, or a green basket to put them in depending on the wind situation at the ceremony site). This may happen even if shes been told there are audience participation instructions on them -Put out more than half the hand fans youve given her on a 90degree day. However she will return the unopened box to you at the end of the night. -Upon request, wont collect and share the venmo information of vendors that havent yet been tipped out. -(nuanced to our venue) wont ensure your recessional path/transit is ready to go. This may also delay all disabled guests from getting to the reception in a timely manner. And again we have no idea if there was some stress/emergency with catering or the band or something that pulled her away. But we do know she wasnt distracted from starting/stopping music because that is in her contracts and is unchangeable even if you dont have a bridal party at all to coordinate. All that aside, she was never rude or unprofessional to our family/party on wedding day. Luckily we sorted everything else out for a pretty smooth weekend! We wish her all the best; though cannot caution others more strongly about the value of a Phox partial planning package for weddings in the Austin area.
