Paul Harrison Photography

wedding day. Photo Quality: Paul is an absolute master photographer. He takes care and time to understand the space and light, and is attentive to every detail that makes a truly beautiful photo. We received hundreds of absolutely gorgeous photos from our day with Paul. Each one was stunning. Every type of shot we wished for was delivered and better than I ever expected. Service Having Paul on site for a wedding (or other special event) is a true bonus. He is calm, personable, professional, and organized in a way that makes everyone around him feel calm and comfortable. He strikes the perfect balance of providing direction for photos, and simply blending into the background to capture candid moments. Again, and I can't stress this enough, Paul is amazing, and we could not imagine a better experience and outcome for our special day!

ere just breathtaking. He was really able to capture everyone’s unique personalities. Thank you!

his endless creativity allowed us to get many incredible shots of our special day. I cannot recommend Paul enough to any bride and groom looking for a photographer. The quality of the photos were better than I could have imagined and he was so communicative and helpful throughout. If I ever need a photographer in the future, I’ll definitely be reaching back out!

rough 3 different venue wedding coordinators, Paul also basically served as our other coordinator, which was hugely helpful! He is incredibly knowledgeable, calm, and professional, and all of our guests loved him. We only had a small 10 person ceremony this year, but we are looking forward to having Paul take pictures at a big party next year!

l was flexible and reliable every step of the way. He worked so hard to capture every moment of the wedding and reception, and he took gorgeous photos along the way. And if you're camera shy, that's no problem. During portraits, he was great at putting people at ease and telling them just where to put their hands. He's a great photographer to work with, a great guy, and I highly recommend him.

rding creating a shot list. Not only was Paul knowledgeable, but he was also very nice and easy to work with! My husband and I are usually very awkward in front of a camera, but Paul was able to give us both guidance for posing. I would highly recommend Paul for all wedding and bridal photography.

ortable and you KNOW you're going to get the most perfect & gorgeous shot possible. He's very thorough and has such an eye for how to capture the moment. I absolutely LOVE our engagement shoot and we've received so many awesome compliments on them. At our wedding this past October weekend, we had several family members tell us how much they enjoyed working with him too and we all are anxiously anticipating the wedding photos. I highly recommend Paul in a heartbeat. He is truly awesome.

ober 7th at Cary Hill plantation in Charles City, Va. We utilized all the space we could and I have no doubt the results will be fantastic as they were for our engagement shoot this past May! He spent a lot of time with us in order to make sure he got every shot he needed and the entire process super easy for us. Most people don't enjoy photo shoots but we had a blast at the engagement shoot, our dinner the night before our wedding, and the day of! He is also very cultured and a great person to talk to about history and life in general! If you can get a shoot at Jamestown Island with I suggest you take advantage! It was incredible! He was very professional, thorough, and accommodating and I would absolutely hire him again! Thanks Paul! Love, Danny and Meg

diligent in his work and his photographs captured our personalities as a married couple. I can't recommend him more as the perfect fit for your wedding day.

lt like a Vogue model. He is great about telling you where you place your hands, how to twist your hips and tilt your head to get the right angles. He was very efficient on wedding day with organizing the family so that the wedding photos went by quickly and smoothly. If you have a chance to work with Paul, do it!

My wife and I got married in January 2014 and had the good fortune to find and work with Paul at Paul Harrison Photography. Paul worked very closely with us through the entire planning and execution process. He visited the site prior to our wedding day on multiple occasions to get a feel for the landscape and ideas for composition. He was very open and receptive to our ideas, while guiding us with his expertise. Our individual groom and bridal portraits are exquisite. The photographs from our first look, portraits together, ceremony and first dance as husband and wife capture the joy and happiness that we feel for one another. Overall working with Paul was an absolute pleasure and we are so thankful to have found him! Thank you Paul! All the Best, Eric & Kay Metcalf

hat I emailed. Paul was by far the most flexible with his pricing package and incredibly familiar with my venue. He responded to all my emails and calls within hours. We met before the wedding to go over the timeline, which he emailed me a final table of (including all the family shots we wanted to take). He also came to the wedding rehearsal and thank God he did because he was the only one there familiar with the venue!! The day of the wedding there was a huge wardrobe malfunction and I missed most of my bridal and bride/groom shots. Paul offered to set up another shoot for us whenever we wanted. The final result was fantastic. Tons of pictures, posed and candid. I recommend Paul based on his professionalism, experience, and absolutely amazing pictures.

g preparing the timeline and list of important shots for the day, photographing the day of the wedding, and finishing and sending the pictures after the wedding. He was always super quick in replying to any question I had via email or phone, and he set up in-person and phone meetings to make sure we were very prepared for the day of the wedding. This made the whole process smooth and stress-free for me. Paul went above and beyond to make sure to get the types of photographs we wanted as well as offered ideas for fun, creative, and artistic photographs. We had recently moved to the area and did not know different locations too well, but Paul had scoped out the surrounding area and hotel where we were staying and had great suggestions for locations. He also drove all the way to VA Beach for our rehearsal to figure out the best places to get pictures for our ceremony. This helped immensely in not losing any time during the day as well as in getting a wide range of fantastic shots. We received our final pictures ready to go in a very timely manner (less than two weeks) and were very happy with the quality and type of pictures. He did a great job at capturing important moments and relationships in the crowd. Overall, Paul takes great care and pride in his work which is evident through all steps of the process. We strongly recommend Paul to everyone in the area for a great experience.

time in town, and always responded to emails within hours. He clearly has plenty of wedding experience and seemed to know more than any of our other vendors about intricacies of weddings and how to work with it all. He was great at directing us in poses and giving us an idea what he was going for which was nice for two people who had never had pictures taken of us as a couple. But that's not to say he did not take into account what we envisioned. Paul made sure every step of the way that we were in sync with each other with our ideas and what we wanted or liked in pictures. He even set up a half hour call with us a few days before the wedding and went over our schedule in detail to make sure we were all on the same page. This was helpful and comforting the day of the wedding as things got quite hectic. He went above and beyond and not only drove out to our rehearsal without us asking, but took pictures and gave them to us. Logistically, Paul gave us the rights to print our own photos and mailed us a DVD with hundreds of them. It was especially important to us to have the ability to use our photos as we wished. With all of that, his prices are still extremely reasonable. And of course, his photographs are amazing!! They are all incredibly vibrant (like we wanted since we had quite the colorful wedding), the lighting made us look like celebrities, and we've been getting compliments on him and the pictures ever since the engagement photos. We would not hesitate to recommend Paul to anyone from Richmond to Williamsburg. He does other types of photos too, but he is an expert at weddings. You will not be disappointed!

f pictures we were interested in and to really capture our unique relationship through photographs. He allowed us to try out poses we were interested in but also is very experienced in posing us in ways that look phenomenal and natural. His photographs (engagements, pre-wedding, ceremony, reception) are absolutely breathtaking. Prior to the wedding, we worked together to develop a very detailed timeline of the day of photographs. He is organized, focused, and knows how to manage time wisely in order to give the bride and groom the types of pictures they want in the time frame they are working with. During the ceremony and reception, we didn't even notice he was taking photographs but they turned out really great. We received our pictures about 16 days after the wedding- all edited and ready to order! We loved this quick turn around as we were so excited to re-experience our wedding and see all the pictures. Pictures were a very important aspect to my husband and I. We are more than thrilled about the quality of services that Paul gave us on both the engagement shoot and entire day of the wedding. The quality of his pictures are also amazing. We highly recommend his services as he is phenomenal in character and as a photographer. If you need more proof than his website offers, check out his facebook- paulharrisonphotography. Let the pictures speak for themselves.

ctures because I had never taken pictures like that before but he made me feel completely comfortable and by the end I was enjoying modeling ☺ He was completely organized and asked my husband and our families to send him a list of all the pictures we wanted on our wedding day beforehand. Because he was so organized Paul got everything we wanted and had time for more! Best of all the finished products are awesome! I still can’t stop looking at them. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone I know.

t the photos back to me within a week! I know people who wait up to 8 months for their photos. Not only was this extremely quick, but the quality was not at all compromised. His organization kept us on schedule and his creativity really shines in the photos. You will not be disappointed.

t he was prepared to take all of the pictures that we felt strongly about. Not only did he attend the wedding rehearsal (for no additional charge), but he was also willing to be the person who organized the rehearsal (suggested where members of our bridal party should stand, etc.), which we greatly appreciated. The day of the wedding Paul was extremely prompt, arriving a few minutes before we were to begin. He was great about keeping us on schedule, but at the same time always ensuring that we got the shots that were important to us. I cannot recommended Paul Harrison photography enough- even my guests commented on how hardworking he was!

better photographer to capture the best day of our lives. Our venue suggested several photographers for us to use, but once I met Paul, I knew right away he was the man for the job. Paul was always available to speak with me via phone or email. If we ever missed each other, with in 30 min. he was calling me back. I felt like I was the ONLY bride he was working with this entire last year. I flew home to do my bridal session at the College of William and Mary and it was the best experience ever. Paul made me feel like a princess and my pictures turned out amazing! Paul also came to my rehearsal dinner, spent time getting to know my family and very important guests. He went above and beyond the call of duty for sure. The day of the wedding Paul captured all the wonderful memories and he was such a calming force to an always hectic day:) I would highly recommend Paul to anyone! He made my day magical and all my friends and family loved him as well.

ion of photos capturing our wedding day's best moments. Paul is a true professional and I would recommended him to anyone planning their special day!

He sent all the pictures in a variety of styles within a week of each shoot! We loved his current photography techniques! I would highly recoommend him for any occasion! Looking forward to working with him in the future! :)

n Roanoke, VA to a three-day weekend celebration at Smith Mountain Lake. Paul was extremely professional, flexible, complimentary, and above all, comforting. During my wedding weekend, the sun shined a total of two hours, but Paul put my mind at ease and didn't allow it to ruin my hopes of "the perfect wedding". Prior to the rehearsal and cermony, Paul made it his mission to photograph family gatherings to give us a lasting memory of our entire experience. I received the disc of photographs just weeks after my ceremony and was blown away with all of the moments he was able to catch. Paul has a true gift and I'm fortunate he shared it with me. My pictures were exquisite and something I will admire for the rest of my life.

nning process photographs were my number one priority, since they are all you will have of the day at the end of it, and Paul's pictures have exceeded my expectations. Great experience, great pictures, would highly recommend.

uickly we received them from you! The whole day you were unflappable and flexible; we really appreciated that you were there to document our wedding and the great joy of all our family and friends.

ith Paul being accessible via email or phone, easy to communicate with, and giving me free reign in whatever I had in mind for the day. Paul has great energy. Calm, personable, and professional – never pushy or bossy with the shots – making the whole experience a breeze, from: wedding rehearsal, pre-wedding photos, ceremony, reception, and portraits – he even put my usually non-photogenic husband at ease! Not only was Paul a joy to work with as a Bride – he carried that same energy in his interactions with the parents of the Bride and Groom, all the guests, and wedding party. Paul was great in providing gentle direction when I had no idea what I was going for (really unique and stunning vogue-type shots in a lobby – that I never thought would turn out as fantastic and beautiful as they did!!), yet managed to always let me guide the experience and way the photos were taken (in locations, areas, and places I wanted to shoot in or near). Paul had the wedding proofs back to me in about a week – and I was not disappointed in the least. If anything, the pictures were even more beautiful than I anticipated them to be with all the excitement during the day. I would recommend Paul unequivocally to any Bride in the greater Williamsburg area. He not only captured my wedding weekend perfectly, but he truly aided in making the day one I will always remember.

ience first-hand what all my clients had been raving about. Paul is very attentive and focused on capturing beautiful moments. His relaxed attitude was just what I needed to keep ME relaxed througohut all the festivities. His price is very fair and his service is exceptional. He was my most valuable vendor - capturing every moment from engagement photos to bridal shoot to rehearsal dinner and wedding. I was astonished to receive my photos within 2 weeks of our wedding...just in time to send out to all our family members. I also have the rights to the photos - and lots of flexibility comes with that. With Paul Harrison Photography, you will get an excellent photographer that won't break the bank....and you'll get a great addition to your wedding team of vendors. He is flexible, timely, and accessible.

e, and he seemed to be much more flexible with pricing than other photographers at a similar level of skill & experience (to our untrained eyes, anyway!). Rather than offering rigid packages with x number of hours and x number of photos and x number of albums, he offered a single price for his services the day of the wedding and a DVD with all our images. (The whole package idea seems kind of silly to me--so if you've taken 200 pictures and something cool happens, you just ignore it? Or you take more than 200 pictures and then delete all the others? It was always a little depressing to read "packages starting at $x" and then find out that that package only includes 2 or 3 hours of photography. I imagine most people want at least their entire ceremony and reception photographed. Anyway...) We have the rights to the photos, so when we have the time and money we can go back and either make our own album or have someone make a nice one for us--and include pics from our friends if we want to. On top of the value and quality of the photos, he was a pleasure to work with. The portrait sessions (I decided closer to the wedding to get bridal portraits, and my husband and I took some alone & with family/bridal party during the cocktail hour) were fun and laid back. His wife came along the day of the wedding to help with setup and organization, and I think took a few shots herself. He did a great job of capturing important moments at the ceremony and got some cool shots of the band and dance floor. I would most definitely recommend him to other couples in the Williamsburg area!
