About this vendor
Patken Photographer Inc (www.patkenphotographer.com) established in Lindenhurst, N.Y is a family owned and operated photography studio serving world wide with offices in Long Island and Central Florida On a credit card and a dream Pat and Ken Gordon took a chance that would forever change the course of there lives and many others. Ken had been around weddings and photography his whole life starting as a teenager. He was hooked early on and loved the power of the arts. This led him to study at the famed School of Visual Arts in NY City. Unfortunately Vietnam and starting a family slowed his dream a bit to become a full time wedding and portrait photographer. After several years of letting there dreams sit idle and working for others doing what they had to do rather than what they were meant to do. They decided as a couple it was time for change. The time had come for Pat and Ken to stop dreaming. So in the basement of there Lindenhurst home back in 1985 Patken Wedding Photographer and Video were born. Ken dusted off his old Rolliflex Twin Lens Reflex camera and went for it.
As though he had never stopped the love affair with wedding photography was instantly reignited. Although it wasn't yet full time employment they were having the time of there life. Both Pat and Ken continued working day jobs while trying to manage Patken at night. Although the company was growing, they knew there was only so much they could do as part timers. That's when the light went on for them both which proved to be the turning point in Patken Photographers history. There son Doug Gordon who was a long time assistant for his dad was getting to the later years of High School. It was clear by his effort in school that college was probably not an option. So they made an offer that Doug couldn't refuse. Come help us grow! Work in the studio so that we are open full time, learn to sell, learn to create art rather than just photograph weddings and most importantly share who you are as a person and we will call you partner. At the young age of 16 while still attending High School Doug changed the destiny of Patken forever. For the first time in his life he knew what he was meant to do and loved to do. He was obsessed. To this day he says that it was his first love affair. The ability to create stories, make subjects feel good about themselves and freeze history was beyond exciting to him. " I love the fact that people remember there lives through my eyes, my feelings, my emotions and everything I am" he says. " wanted to be the best and for the first time in my life I was willing to work to get there". That work payed off as Doug Gordon has worked over the last 28 years to become one of the most well known and highly decorated photographers in the world with his crowing moment in 2011 when he was chosen as one of a very select few to ever receive a United Nations Leadership Award for his work as Wedding and Portrait Photographer.

rything from the word go. Their entire process is excellent, because they make sure they get to know you, your style, and what you want the vibe of your wedding photos to be. They understand that every wedding and every couple are different, and want to make sure they capture YOUR style and personality.
Our photographer was Beatrice, and she was the absolute best photographer that anyone would possibly ask for at a wedding. I could not recommend her more highly. She reached out to us multiple times in advance of the big day to make sure that she knew our entire plan for the day, so that she could make sure to capture all of our moments perfectly. For example: we planned to do a lift during our first dance, and Beatrice learned the audio cues in our song so that she could position herself to get the best angle before it happened. All of the little details like that made such a huge difference.
She also took the time to get to know us as a couple, and what kinds of poses and styles work best for us. Speaking with her before the wedding gave us the utmost confidence going in that she would capture our day perfectly, and she absolutely did! During the morning when we were taking photos with our wedding party she kept the atmosphere fun and light while keeping everything moving. Her sense of humor and fun personality helped multiple people in the party who are typically more camera-shy shake off their nerves and have a wonderful time. The photos would not have turned out as well as they did without that human touch. Her sense for styles and backdrops is absolutely impeccable, and every suggestion she gave was better than the last. As we moved on to the ceremony and reception, she made sure that we knew where she would be so all our most important photos would be executed perfectly. I have absolutely no idea how she managed to be absolutely everywhere during the reception without ever getting in anyone’s way. She is a complete pro, and every unusual request we threw at her was greeted with enthusiasm. We could not be more grateful for everything she did! If you hire her for your wedding, you will be absolutely blown away!

sations with him, we never felt like just another couple. He was dedicated to ensuring that our wedding day was special and ultimately paired us with Vinnie (photographer) and Michael (videographer). Â Â
We could not have asked for a better duo to shoot our wedding! Vinnie and Michael were the ultimate professionals that perfectly matched the vibe of the day. Their energy and personalities from start to end made it so much fun and only added to the magic of the day. It honestly felt like they were friends celebrating alongside us and capturing the special moments. We really appreciated that they never made us feel rushed which allowed us the time to just live in the moment and enjoy the day. Truly exceptional people. We cannot thank them enough!

They got such a great variety of shots, and we were blown away by how many beautiful photos we received. One of the most impressive parts was how quickly we got our photos back! We were so excited to relive the day, and they delivered everything much faster than we expected.
If you’re looking for a photography team that is professional, efficient, and delivers amazing results, I highly recommend Patken Photography!

el brought such incredible energy to our day — they made everything feel effortless and exciting.
They were organized, calm, and completely on top of every detail. One of our favorite moments was when they snuck my husband and I into the speakeasy room at our venue so we could share a quiet moment together. It was such a thoughtful touch, and it perfectly reflects how intentional and attentive they are. They truly think of everything, allowing you to be fully present and not worry about a single thing on your wedding day — they handle it all seamlessly.
They captured every moment with elegance and class. Their talent is undeniable — they are true artists — and we are beyond grateful we chose them to document such a special day in our lives.
Hiring them was hands down one of the best decisions we made for our wedding!

Patken Photography was AMAZING to work with, and it was clear from the first phone call with Doug that our wedding was as special to them as it was to us. Jessie was our wedding ph...
otographer and she did the most incredible job. She was so easy to work with and attentive; she remembered specific photos that I wanted throughout the wedding without me needing to even think about it. She also created such a comfortable environment, and was incredibly accommodating when it came to sharing about shots or pictures I wanted or didn't want. It was clear she and our videographer, Michael, had a great working relationship and worked together often. They both worked together to get the shots and videos they needed and both our photos and video turned out incredible!! We are so, so happy with the end result. We also opted for a photo booth, which our guests loved! Prior to the wedding, we had a complimentary engagement photo shoot, which was a great way to practice for the big day, and get some early shots that we were able to use as save the dates if we wanted. Definitely go with Patken, they are a family business and will definitely make you feel like your wedding is one of their own!
Choosing wedding vendors is a tough decision. Choosing Doug and Patken Photographer was probably the best choice we made.

our big day the last thing you want to do is spend extended time away from your guests to get in all of the shots you need. Doug and his team made sure we got all the shots my wife wanted while minimizing the amount of time we need to get them all done. Doug and team were fun to work with and had us laughing through most of our engagement with them while ensuring we got the absolute best shots imaginable.
Thanks for taking such great care of us Doug and team!

we should really and need for the wedding. Our engagement shoot with Kevin was perfect and I couldn’t imagine how much better it can get! The day of the wedding we had Michael as the videographer, Beatrice and Vinnie as the photographers and let me tell you they were absolutely amazing and such a pleasure to work with. They knew exactly what to do, how to position us and get the best shots! I couldn’t have asked for a better team to work with you can just tell through the photos how passionate they are about their work and it truly shows! A big thank you to the Patken team for the most perfect day!
Patken made our wedding day absolutely wonderful! David did such a wonderful job of not only taking photos, but anticipating needs and wants. We did not feel pushed or rushed, but ...

When we mentioned a pose or two we wanted to include he provided amazing cues to make those poses look amazing and it showed in the photos we got back. I never got my engagement pictures done, and Soug told me whenever I wanted to get them done that he would do them for me. It’s almost 21 years later. I have recommended so many people to Patken. I highly recommend anyone to use them!!! You will not be disappointed!!!

ve been absolutely beautiful. What I loved most about working with the Patken team is that everything was efficient...my husband and I come from big families / friend groups, and they covered so much ground without dragging out photo sessions so we can get back to what really mattered at our events...celebrating! From our initial booking to getting our photos back, Doug and his team have been incredible to work with and have truly listened to what I like and dislike to be sure the end result was tailored to my taste. I firmly believe you can show them anything as examples and they can mold the output to match it, all while maintaining the utmost quality, style, and professionalism Patken has become known for. I couldn't recommend this team more!

le to get photos since our skin tones are so different and our wedding was going to have a wide array of skin toes so we needed a person who would be able to handle that. Doug went above and beyond our wildest dreams! While I love having my picture taken my husband is a bit more shy but Doug made it so fun! He is patient, absolutely hilarious, for a lack of better word; perfect.
His attention to detail is absolutely amazing! All of my guests came up and told me how amazing he was and so did my wedding coordinator for my venue. He was able to to both photo and video for us, and hen I say you could see him running around everywhere I mean it!
As a event coordinator myself I found having him onsite truly gave us a peace of mind and we where able really able to enjoy our day.

stions we had. We were fortunate enough to work with Sabrina for our engagement shoot and for our big day. Kevin worked on our montage and did an amazing job! He created our video quickly and made any requested adjustments the same day. John was our videographer and was great to work with on the big day. I cannot say enough about how amazing it was to work with Sabrina, she not only did a great job as a photographer, but was there to help with anything we needed, including my dress with an enormous train and what seemed like a thousand buttons. Anytime I needed help she was there in a second. She made us feel super comfortable and was there to support us the entire day. Our experience with the Patken team was great and I would say if you want a stress free wedding day go with them because they will be there to support you 100%. They are also available at any time you reach out. Whenever I reached out, I got a response almost immediately. Thank you to the entire team!!

was raining to ensure that we got the best pictures possible and to make it as easy as it could be with the changes due to the weather. He also tried to make the timing of certain photos appropriate for us so that we can enjoy our wedding and also get the pictures we wanted. If I could give him more than five stars I would! Nick was our videographer and the perfect fly on the wall. He made himself available to us but also captured so many great moments without feeling like he was even there which made us feel more natural and more loose. We are truly grateful for that since my husband and I aren't used to having that sort of attention on us especially constant videoing. He also was super supportive and helpful every step of the way even standing out in the rain to capture me leaving my limo to come to the church for the ceremony. Both Nick and David were excellent and I could not say enough to describe how lucky my husband and I are to have had them capture our wedding! Patken is fantastic! We would recommend them again and again to capture everyone's special moments!!!

rst meeting she took so much time to not only take some practice photos of us, but also to explain her process and little tips and tricks for the big day (all before we were even booked with her officially!) Leading up to the wedding she continued to talk through details with me as often as I wanted and was always so prompt in answering questions. It’s so helpful to have someone who had obviously been through it a bunch to provide us with direction and guidance through the entire planning process. On our actual wedding day Sabrina took away all my stress! From the moment she showed up I stopped worrying about how everything would fall into place. She was organized, attentive and thoughtful. I got several compliments from my family and bridal party about how smooth everything went and how grateful they were to get all photos done fast enough to enjoy cocktail party! Sabrina was the best I could have asked for! She’s the main reason our day went so smoothly, we got every single shot we needed, and had so much fun doing it!
