Your Lowcountry Setting
Orange Grove is a luxurious waterfront locale in Saint Helena Island, SC, that makes a wonderful place for your wedding venue. The elegant natural beauty and historic charm of this retreat make it an inviting spot for special celebrations. Only a 20-minute drive from Beaufort, the unmatched scenery is ready for your unforgettable occasion from Spring 2026.
The Orange Grove Estate is a large and historic home with its origins in the colonial days. The original house was built around 1800 by the Fripp family, with Congressman Henry L. Bowles building the current house in 1928. The Trask family purchased the property in 1963 to add to their farming operation. 1972 saw Mr. and Mrs. John M. Trask Jr. rebuilding the Bowles house, with plenty of interior changes to accommodate their four children. Their family legacy entered a bold new chapter in 2025 with their decision to preserve their home while opening it to the public. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this beautiful property has a rich history covering centuries. Those arriving at the house enter through an iron gate into a grand avenue lined by moss-draped oak. At the other end is a pair of ponds full of fresh water and teeming life. An expansive meadow awaits beyond the ponds with a scattering of oak trees amid meticulously landscaped lawns.
