ry clearly. However, when the day came I felt like the ball was dropped in some obvious areas. The music was never faded, it was a harsh "stop" or pause. This was a bummer, especially for our ceremony where the songs should definitely flow slowly. Some lack of updating his notes as well. A couple weeks before I sent him what we wanted to do for our bridal party entrance with clear instructions and he said he understood and would update his notes, but then right before the moment when we were lined up he had the wrong song. I had to give him the instructions in the moment. I even shouted at him through the window exactly how I wanted the transition between the two songs to go, but he didn't do that and played the entire second song between the bridal party and the bride and groom, leaving a very awkwardly long wait. It's not what I requested, and I shouldn't have had to worry about that on our day. Other things too, like wanting a free-mic for the speeches but he set up a mic stand instead, not dismissing tables for dinner over the mic even though we discussed it on our phone call. Did not give 5 minute warnings before important events like the B/G first dance so some important family and friends missed that moment because they didn't have a warning to get back to their seat. Some things like that I didn't think I had to ask for, but even when I did my expectations weren't fully met. That being said, they were wonderful at actually DJ'ing. Their music choices and transitioning songs were very talented and everyone enjoyed it once the music really started for dancing. If you want the DJ just to be good at dancing music/reception/song choices, it's a solid book. For us, we really wanted our DJ to help emcee the reception, fade songs, give warnings and such and felt like our expectations were unfortunately not met. I genuinely don't usually leave reviews, but weddings are an important day and every detail matters to make it perfect. This could have just been our experience and our specific DJ, not a representation of the whole company.

times!!

While we understood that our contract stated it would be “Matt or Bill,” it was still disappointing since we had been looking forward to working with Matt. There were several aspects of the reception that unfortunately didn’t meet our expectations. We had specifically requested that the DJs wear formal attire to match the atmosphere of our wedding, but they did not. During dinner there were multiple awkward periods of silence, and the music choices didn’t fit the elegant ambiance we had envisioned. Many songs played were unfamiliar to us and didn’t match the style we had discussed. I also spent a lot of time creating our playlist, so it was disappointing that some of the songs on our “must play” list were either played while I wasn’t in the reception space or were heavily mixed into other songs, making it impossible to enjoy them as intended. Even more frustrating, songs that were on our “do not play” list were played during the reception. Communication leading up to the wedding was decent, but on the wedding day it felt like they were simply there to get through the event rather than create a personalized experience. They weren’t rude, but there wasn’t much enthusiasm or attention to the details that were important to us. Overall, the reception was fine, but given the amount of planning that goes into a wedding and the importance of music in setting the tone for the evening, I left feeling disappointed that our requests weren’t followed more closely.

.

ng to have a stress free wedding. Thank you so much for making my daughter’s wedding fantastic.

ine. He did a great job as an MC as well as hyping up all of our guests. Thank you for everything!! Highly Recommend Mitten DJ and very reasonable. Fit perfectly into our budget.

ut together a quote and even followed up to see if he could help further. Because we were in a contract with our original DJ, we had to stick with him when he finally started responding. But I wanted to leave a review anyway because they were ready and willing to help us in a moment of crisis and were supper communicative!!

e. The ceremony was well supported from a sound perspective, and the dance floor was the best space for all of our loved ones to connect and have a good time. There was never a dull moment on the dance floor. Bill took our feedback and was responsive to anything we may have needed. The highlight of the night were the rainbow up-lights that were the perfect backdrop for the evening. Appreciate Bill and his love for music - thanks for being there for us and throwing a damned good party! Thank you, thank you, thank you <3 Our favorite song of the evening chosen by Bill: Where You Are by John Summit, HAYLA -Jake + Derek

and the fog machine! Thanks again, Matt, for a wonderful night!

g crowd during the grand introduction! I couldn't have asked for a better start to our night! I was worried about mic issues, but they ended up working properly. All of the music/announcements were done at the right times. Over all, amazing performance!

dled with creativity and grace! If you are in need of a DJ for any event we highly recommend Matt! Thank you again Matt! -Boaz & Amanda

nce floor and comfortable with the music it got much better. They listened very well to us about what music we wanted played and didn’t want played.

any areas, sound and being able to continue with the ceremony a reception outside included, but Matthew put me at ease and we were able to continue our wedding plans despite the rain. Matthew was professional and a great MC throughout the night. The dance floor was packed all night and everyone had an amazing time. I would recommend New Swivel over and over again.

dancing, whether inside our venue or outside on the patio, they had the party going till the very end! They played every millennials dream song! We had so much fun! I highly highly recommend this DJ group!! You will NOT be disappointed!

to make sure everything went smooth. We didn’t want the traditional songs and they stuck to our playlist. Also, threw in a few great songs that got everyone on the dance floor. Our guests loved the fog machines. Thanks Matt and Bill!

out how good a job they did.

going, took requests, and everyone had an awesome time all night because of NewSwivel. Not on NewSwivel's part -- we weren't able to have a rehearsal at the venue but we should have done one more stand up mic or lapel mic for the ceremony with the various readers and the vow exchange but I didn't know and didn't ask -- you can't be awesome DJs AND Mindreaders too right?!?!

our crazy requests and kept the party going!! Music is so important to us so it was really important we had a great DJ and NewSwivel was just that!!!

even though we were running behind schedule for unlocking the ceremony venue and so they didn’t have much time to set up. They were fun to work with and very patient with us - we had a few last-minute music changes that they made for us without any issue. They also did videography for our ceremony and reception and were really professional about making sure that both the music and videography were simultaneously well done and professionally attended to. Our guests REALLY loved their photo booth as well! It was really cool and a lot of fun!

ou so much!

ey made my wedding night so much fun!

anyone planning a wedding right now, they really go above and beyond.

e the night go smoothly for us.

appreciated. Everything from the music selection to the sound quality and lighting made sure the dance floor was always the place to be.
