I came across Ming & My Intimate Weddings Atlanta online because I was looking for a ceremony venue that could hold 50-60 guest. I saw there was an all inclusive package offered so...
I contacted them and everything went great. I made it clear that we would only be needing their services for a ceremony and champagne toast because we already had or reception dinner taken care of. I let her know what decor and color scheme I wanted & she sent me over a mockup of everything. In this mockup she stated that the shape of the floral arch may be different, but she wanted to give me an overall idea of what my ceremony would look like. The mockup included my floral arch, the seating, a white runner down the aisle, and aisle flowers hanging from the chairs. I asked if we could use aisle floral clouds on the ground along the white runner instead of the florals tied to the chairs, and was told this was no problem & would be done. However, as the ceremony neared, things started to become off. 1st, I was sent a timeline of my ceremony which included cake cutting and a first dance, even though in our initial call I stated I did not need this because this would all take place during our reception dinner. Next, I was sent my final contract with my updated number of guest & the additional fees. This is when I noticed they had our start time 2 hours earlier than what we agreed. These mistakes were quickly corrected so we continued on. As our date neared we were expecting bad weather so we communicated multiple times about moving the ceremony indoors. I asked for photos of the indoor space she previously used and she sent them, letting me know the chairs in these photos would be different. This was fine, because the chairs in my mockup were white wooden chairs, and these were gold chairs in the photo. The day came, and we ended up not getting the predicted weather so we agreed to finally move to the terrace instead of the courtyard because inside would be tight with my number of guest but the grass in the courtyard (my original location) was wet from the rain the night before. Again, this was no problem I was willing to be flexible. My hair and makeup ran late & we were in communication about this the whole time. We also were in communication about my dad dropping off some additional items at the venue (our welcome sign, etc.). Myself and my bridal party ended up arriving at 5pm, while everyone else was already there. The ceremony was scheduled to start at 4:30. When we arrived at 5pm, chairs were still being set up. Then my father calls me frantic asking where my officiant was because Ming is stating this wasn’t in our contract, when it absolutely was and is apart of her all inclusive package. So she quickly found one & we had to wait an additional 40 mins for the officiant to arrive before we could start. When we started my sister and I had to signal for her to turn off the music so the officiant could actually start. We were scheduled to end at 6:30, so we did the ceremony, a quick champagne toast with no microphone even though she stated there would be one provided for my sister to give the toast & we left to dinner. We were provided with basic white metal folding chairs, no aisle flowers of any kind, or no runner. Ming blamed all of this on the weather that we barely got and offered a $150 refund, when we paid almost $7k. Ming only accepts Zelle or cash payments, due to previous clients filing disputes. I guess we know why now….
