Evie and her team at Monarch were absolutely fantastic. We had a few initial consultation calls, as well as a tasting to select foods, and they handled basically everything else. E...
verything was absolutely wonderful - the food was delicious, the space looked fantastic, the drinks were great, and the staff were all fantastic. On the day they struck the perfect balance of being attentive but giving us our space, but we both saw how hard everyone was working to keep everything running smoothly. We loved everything about it - the view, the fact it was lounge seating (so no stressful wedding seating arrangements), and how they switched the vibe up during the night as people danced more. It gave us the most magical day that we’ll never forget!
My (now) wife and I hosted our Wedding Ceremony and Reception here and worked closely with Ksenia, Evie, and Michael throughout the planning process. Everyone adored the venue and ...
the staff was what really exceeded our expectations. Evie and Michael were incredible for facilitating the event and making sure that every single request was honored. They were always making sure that my wife and I were taken care of. Every single staff member was friendly and warm and seemed to be part of the family. Even TJ helped us get our decorations into the car the next day. Most of our guests said that it was the best wedding that they had ever attended!
Great venue! We were looking for the NYC experience so what better than a rooftop with Empire State Building views! Our friends and family are still talking about the rooftop exper...
ience, the views, and the food!
Monarch is very convenient for out-of-town and local guests both, with Penn Station and Times Square within walking distance. The Marriot downstairs makes it easy for the bride to change and arrive at the rooftop via private elevator.
We booked the space for the afternoon for both ceremony and reception. At 6pm, the venue opened back up to the public for the evening, though we stayed for an after-party! The Monarch is one big open space but can be sectioned into multiple “rooms” to allow staff to reset one portion from ceremony to reception, with guests relaxing in the other portion with plenty of light, music, and refreshments.
All inevitable hiccups were taken care of in the background, Genese coordinated the catering, cake delivery, furniture rentals, space setup, all those details that accumulate faster than you can blink. We dropped off our few decorations (the venue has great furniture and décor already!), favors, slideshow, etc., in the morning and Genese took care of unpacking, setting up, and repacking at the end of the night again. Everything felt effortless from our end, though her team was busy for sure! Organization skills are hard to come by, Monarch has a gem in Genese.
On top of this, working with the in-house caterer and DJ was a breeze. Can’t stress this enough: there is plenty to deal with, try to find a venue as all-inclusive as possible.
In the end, we were more relaxed during our own wedding then at others we’ve attended as guests! The planning process was smooth as well, thanks to Genese and Monarch's wide range of options and flexibility.
