MKL Images

my husband and I and I never had to wait more than a day for a response. On the actual day, Mary made sure that we got the pictures we had requested and went out of her way to pull us aside when the sun was going down so we could get the beautiful romantic pictures by the lake we had at our venue. My family was crazy and made it hard to get everything done but Mary made it possible. Would recommend to anyone looking for a photographer!

y what I wanted, and what I got. Love all of my photos, got them in an online gallery exactly 2 weeks after the wedding. She is quick to respond and helpful. She was on time for the photos, very professional, and made my day so much easier an enjoyable. She’s very reasonably priced, but you get MORE than what you pay for. Book her. You won’t regret it!

us to have vendors that we connected with - especially our photographer as we knew we would spend a lot of our special day with them! The minute we met Mary she put us at ease. She is extremely organized and she knows what she is doing. She structures everything throughout the whole wedding planning process so that it goes smoothly and painlessly on the wedding day. Wedding planning was extremely stressful for me but Mary was such a huge help throughout the process that it gave me one less thing to worry about. On top of all of that, Mary makes getting your picture taken fun! I'm very self conscious and she pumped us both up until we were just enjoying the moment and each other. I could go on and on but the most important thing is this: I would hands down, without a doubt, recommend Mary to anyone who is looking for a photographer!

. Mary went above and beyond with the number of images and all images were great quality. You can tell Mary really cares about her clients and she makes your priorities her priority. Mary is also great at providing expertise when creating a timeline for your big day. We are so so happy with all our photos from our big day! We’d recommend MKL images to all our friends!

imagined, but she actually helped move the day along without a hitch. When we first met her, she said that she helps coordinate the day so it is about you, not the pictures. She does this perfectly. We barely remember being photographed, but there are plenty of gorgeous images that my wife and I agree perfectly reflect our wedding day.

ou're anything like me, you read the reviews, checked out their pictures, and to be honest, there are a lot of great options so how on earth could you pick THE one to capture your day?! From the very first message I sent Mary, I was hooked. She has personality for days and has the ability to make you feel like you've known her forever. She promptly answered every question I had in detail through the planning process and she even brought to light things I wouldn't have even thought of. Mary made me feel 100% confident that not only would she capture our most important memories, but she was always open to my suggestions and opinions. Your big day will finally come, and with everything else going a million miles an hour, the last thing you want to worry about are your vendors. Mary was timely, meticulous with her shots of every aspect of our wedding, and beyond loved by all our other vendors. You might also be like me, and have a groom who has a fantastic smile, but the second you put a camera in front of him... other interesting faces appear :P. My husband met Mary the day of our wedding and had the exact same reaction I did...Haven't we known her for years?! She's lighthearted, fun loving and pretty darn hilarious. You can't help but smile around her! Not to mention, we're not all be model's by profession...but in front of Mary's lens, you sure feel like one! Her compliments are genuine and my husband and I could tell the entire day how much she loves what she does. It's hard not to be excited around people like that! Family members having a little too much "fun" to stay attentive for your family pics? No problem. Weather isn't perfect? No problem. Timeline of the day is running behind? No problem. Have a videographer too? No problem. With Mary, you honestly don't have to worry about a thing...she's THAT amazing. We've seen sneak peak pics from our day and they've honestly taken our breath away. We cannot WAIT to see the rest! We only wish we could do it all over again and get to hang out with Mary more ;). Thank you Mary, more than we can ever express with words! <3

ind, fully of energy and instantly put my worries and fears at ease. You can tell Mary LOVES what she does. After the wedding we eagerly awaited our photos..and then just days after we saw the sneak peak. I couldn't contain my excitement!! Now, I look back to the photos daily (they rotate on my computer screen) and I can't help but feel extremely grateful to Mary and all she did for us on our big day.

s confident and willing to help m e along the way. She was willing to work with my videographer and even met with us at the venue to go over the game plan. During the day Mary & her assistant were on point; better than my coordinator! Our day was really rushed but we got some great pictures and she was super encouraging the whole time. I loved that she took control of the day to make sure we had everything under control! She also worked very well with my videographer, which was really important to me and I was pleased that they shared the day in a professional way. I am very happy I went with Mary! My entire bridal party complimented me on them and still talked about how amazing and helpful they were. They made the day happen! No doubt about it!! GO WITH MARY! You won't regret it!

ur photo taken professionally is usually an awkward and nerve-wracking process but Mary was ready with direction, poses and sweet compliments throughout the day. I could not have been happier with the photos – each one captured the emotion we felt that day. I HIGHLY recommend Mary and MKL Images to everyone and I can’t wait to work with her again. Thank you, Mary!!

anyone and everyone. She really exceeded my expectations and made me feel comfortable the entire time.

us at the venue to do a walkthrough to make sure we were all on the same page before the wedding. She helped me make my timeline (which was harder than you think) and gave me great recommendations for other vendors, like our florist that we also loved! She is professional, but fun and funny :) she kept my husband and I in good spirits and not stressed out. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is getting married, you won't regret it!! She was the best!

s taken and took in all her recommendations. We just received our pictures and they turned out great, she caught all our details that we incorporated along with our smiles. Thank you Mary we will cherish these forever.<3

y made it fun and so easy for us. She was very patient and instilled confidence in the nervous bride (me) and groom. She's a class act and the photographs turned out amazing! I would most definitely recommend her in the future to anyone in need of quality professionalism but also a caring, friendly, and talented photographer

self. i just had to go where she told me to and she made me GLOW. Not only have I referred my best friends to her for maternity and Wedding photos, I will use her FOREVER. The experience was a joy, but the PHOTOS cannot be matched!

os actually enjoyed the engagement photo session. Although the weather was not great when we had our session, Mary worked her magic and the photos turned out so beautiful! We are always getting compliments on them like, "Wow! I love how your photographer was able to capture your personalities so well in these photos." We cannot wait for her to capture all the memories on our wedding day! :)

comfortable in front of the camera. And the pictures turned out amazing!! We can't wait for the wedding so we can work with Mary again.

engagement photos I just knew I had to have her shoot my wedding. Very grateful I had her there to capture such precious moments.

nd after, until almost the end of the reception. She captured all the family and friend shots we needed, and we were left with plenty of time for creative, artistic, and romantic shots as well. I didn't realize how lovely they would be until I saw them, Mary really has a great eye for a beautiful shot, and we will treasure the photos. Mary's patience, professionalism, skill, and artistic eye were all deeply appreciated. Everyone who has seen the photos loves them! Mary's photography is highly recommended and I would certainly hire her again.

did have an AMAZING experience as she captured our beautiful engagement photos. Mary was able to make the entire experience feel natural and fun. She took the time to travel with us to two different locations, while working her magic at each spot. The pictures that we got back exceeded our expectations and will be something we cherish forever. If you are in the market for the best there is, look no farther...Mary is the one for you!

rson to work with. Our package included engagement photos in which she helped our vision of swanky, bar shots come to life. She is amazing at what she does. At our wedding, we fell behind timeline wise and yet Mary stayed positive and somehow was able to still capture almost every photo we had requested. Just a few days after our wedding, she posted a few sneak peak photos and we were beyond thrilled with not just the speedy turn-around, but the quality and beauty oh the photos she captured from our day. I can not say enough great things about Mary. If you are a bride, looking for a stress-free, fabulous photographer for your wedding, go with MKL Images. I promise she will not disappoint you :)

mall wedding at the downtown courthouse.. she captured not only our family and friends but took a bunch of scenic photos. We met that day and had so much fun! We received our photos within a week, CRAZY right?!? Thanks again for capturing our day!

from not only guest but many people who weren't there but felt like were due to the pictures. The first time I met her I truly felt like I was meeting with a friend. I already knew I loved the her style from the pictures of her work but meeting with her at my venue sealed the deal. She understood the feel and style of pictures that I liked, we even became friends on Pinterest so that she could see my wedding photography board that I started so she could really understand my vision. I'm a "I know what I like and how I like"kind of girl, ok so maybe a little of a control freak I admit it BUT with Mary I had no problems letting her take the reigns and was so confident in anything and everything she did and asked for during shooting. I never doubted her vision for my wedding pictures and trusted her completely which was a HUGE deal for me. My husband takes very little pictures and I was a bit worried about him taking so many pictures the day of and not knowing what to do or looking too posed in the pictures but Mary did an amazing job of directing him and he looks so handsome and relaxed in all the pictures. We had a pretty rowdy wedding party when it came to paying attention for pictures but she handled them perfectly and you would never be able to tell by looking at the pictures. She was not only extremely professional but constantly checked in with me before and even after the wedding, I truly felt that I had worked with and gained a friend. She is the absolute best and you will not regret working with her that I can PROMISE you. Thank you again Mary for giving me pictures that I LOVE and will be able to look back on and show with pride for a lifetime.

ere amazing, and will remind us of our special day- thank you so much Mary and MKL Images!

an tell through all of the work that she puts into her business that wedding photography is one her passions and that she is dedicated to capturing the special moments of your wedding. I will definitely be using Mary as my photographer when I get married.

She is easy going yet professional, has a very clear vision, a contagious laugh and has a way of making you feel comfortable (which is nice for first timers in front of a camera), and makes every moment count. A couple of things I REALLY appreciated while working with Mary was the ideas/poses she had for both occasions and the fact that she welcomed my ideas as well! She is definitely no amateur, and it shows in her thought process and photo results. There's nothing better than being confident in the vendor you choose. I also really enjoyed her attitude. Nothing was impossible and she was willing to trek through a thorny field to get the right shot. I just recently got my photos back from my wedding, and I was so happy with them! There was not a moment she missed and the candid shots she got were some of my favorite! I can't wait to work with her again.

easy going but efficient, and loves photography! I found Mary on the knot website and emailed her to find out more. At the time, I had emailed a few others photographers but after to speaking with them all, Mary was my favorite. She was professional, understood my wedding vision, and made me feel at ease. Mary and I have emailed numerous times since I've hired her as my photographer and she always responds quickly. When it was time for our engagement photos, I was nervous- engagement photos seem awkward to me. As soon as Mary started shooting, she made us feel comfortable. She had several poses for us and I liked them all. Our photos are absolutely beautiful!! I can not wait for our wedding. I know Mary is going to capture our moments perfectly.

sional while still being fun. I would highly recommend her for your wedding photos!

hing the whole time. Yes, we had a great time but that's not even mentioning how BEAUTIFUL the photos came out! Which is what is most important right? Mary has such an eye for lighting and originality! These weren't your standard everyday Bridal photos. Mary was hopping over fences, climbing through bushes, and being attacked by bugs just to get the perfect shot. All with a smile on her face. I would and will work with her again! If you're looking for a fun and fresh photographer. MKL Images is a must!

nderstanding through the entire process!! My fiance is in the Navy and had a port visit in San Diego in August. I flew out to San Diego from Maryland to meet him and was only out there for a week before I had to return home. We knew that we would have a very short window to get our pictures done and that there was a high probability that he may have to work during my time out in San Diego. I had to switch dates a couple times and Mary was SO accommodating. Knowing we had a short window she even kept two days open for us in case something should come up! I was a little nervous to fly across the country and get pictures taken, but Mary made it so easy. She provided detailed information and answered all my questions graciously. Most of the time I had a response within an hour of sending her a question (and there were many!). She made me feel very comfortable and ready to get our pictures taken. The day of our pictures my fiancé and I were very excited, but also had no idea what we were doing. I had provided Mary with a Pinterest page of ideas that she kept with her throughout the shoot to help guide us and ensure that all the pictures we wanted to take had been done. For the most part though we left the poses up to her and her artistic ability! She made us feel very comfortable and was very personable with us. She even took the time to get to know our story and share hers with us. We had so much fun taking our pictures that the session flew by! We didn’t want it to end! Throughout the session it was easy to tell how passionate Mary is about photography. She got so excited over some of the shots and even when we were all done and walking back to our cars if she saw a scene she liked, she had us get out there and take more pictures! Some of these ended up among our favorite shots! We started taking pictures at Joe’s Crab Shack and walked towards the Oceanside beach where we took pictures with the sunset in the background. The pictures came out beautiful and we have received many compliments on them! Mary did a sneak peak of our pictures within a few days of our session and had the rest of them to us in digital form within a week or so! It was much faster than we expected! The entire session was so much fun and a great memory that my fiancé and I share and hold dear. Mary is very personable, comforting, and fun! We couldn’t have asked for anything more. She is someone you can trust and that you want to continue to be friends with after the session. Mary even gave us both a hug to say goodbye! As neither of us are from California, we were sad to say goodbye and almost wish we were getting married in California so that we could have Mary at our wedding!! Thank you so much for making our experience with our engagement pictures one that we will treasure forever. We will always hold MKL images dear in our hearts and will recommend MKL images to anyone we know out in the San Diego area! Thank you again!!!

efore our engagement photo session, and provided links and suggestions for outfits for us to wear! As your type A personality that lived across the country, this was very important to me and Mary accommodated everything! Mary was very prompt with responding to emails and providing answers to all the questions I had. The day of our engagement photos was seamless- Mary met us on location and immediately put our nerves at ease and made us laugh! My fiance and I felt like we were in pure bliss the entire time, laughing and having fun with each other in our own little bubble. Mary was very quick to turn around and provide with some sneak peek photos to share with our family and friends and just a couple short days later, we had the entire album! We were beyond pleased with all of the photos in our album and actually had the most difficult time picking our favorites! The most amazing thing was that Mary captured moments like I never thought possible. There are a handful of photos that make my heart skip a beat each time I look at them! Overall, I would highly recommend Mary for her photography services! Thank you, thank you Mary!!

tographers, none of them could compare to her. I loved her style, and especially her use of natural lighting. We hired her for our Engagement photo session and for our Wedding day. The Engagement photos turned out so amazing and I couldn't wait for my wedding day ones. I just received them and they have exceeded my expectation. I still don't understand how she makes everyone look incredibly beautiful on camera! Absolutely worth every penny spent!

with them. Mary is a blast to work with and has awesome ideas. She's open to all ideas I had as well. I recommend Mary for any future brides, trust me you wont be disappointed.

very quick to reply putting my mind at ease- she did such a great job with our photos! We LOVE them and had a few blown up to put around our house. We cannot recommend her enough- do yourself a favor and book her, you WILL NOT be disappointed!! After the wedding we even called her for a trash the dress session- OMG so much fun!

e always professional and made us all feel comfortable in front of the camera.

ctures, to coming to view our wedding venue with us. She sat with us and talked to us about what kind of photos we wanted, who we wanted in them, and the scenery of the venue. She even brought all the little things (invitations, bridal shower favor, etc.) to the wedding, in order to take detail shots! She is professional, and knows exactly what to do. She was quick in getting our photos back to us, and excellent at communicating with us. She was patient and kind, as I asked her many questions, and kept bugging her to see the photos (I was very impatient!!!). You can tell that photography is her passion, as she lit up when planning good shots, and looking at some wedding photos on her camera. Her husband, who is also very kind and talented, joined her on our wedding day as a second photographer. They were both professional, and my husband and I hardly noticed them at all. We had a first look, with great photos, and Mary and her husband were respectful of our privacy while taking images of that powerful moment. Our photos are truly amazing, we couldn't have asked for a better photographer. The best part is that Mary is someone who you instantly want to be friends with. I wouldn't recommend anyone else for this very important moment. My husband and I will continue to use only her, of MKL Images, for any important photo opportunities in the future.

was available! My mother came in contact with her through mutual friends and knew I would like her since with both enjoy art. We had a short meeting about what we liked our wedding photos to be like and she was very personable. I wanted a casual wedding because I was somewhat nervous and I have never had photos taken of myself. In the end Ryan and I really enjoyed working with her, she listened to everything we wanted and also had great ideas. We ended up taking photos at our venue, at our small reception, and at a cool bar across the way. We have received our photos and love them! You can hardly tell we had a tiny wedding with just a dinner reception following it. I don't believe in spending a fortune on one day but I think that good photos of such a special moment are truly priceless. Thank you Mary!

ry’s photographs have a vivid sense of spirit that are difficult to describe with words. In a world peppered with budding free lance “photographers” Mary exhibits a rare artistry. Her work has soul. It breathes off of her images in a way that moves people. The photographic accounts of her world travels inspire me up out of the every day and compel me to imagine a world juxtaposed by a dreamlike fantasy and a simple honesty. Her work with children reminds us instantly of what the world of a child looks and feels like. Mary’s weddings are without compare, capturing cultural traditions without the generic sterility of a “wedding photo” and, most importantly, allowing the couple to experience the full emotion of their marriage, documenting its most tender moments without intrusion. Simply put, Mary’s work is truly magical. In having worked with Mary in almost every setting imaginable, I can attest to her versatility. Directing and assertive when needed, passive and silent where appropriate, Mary demands a shot that cannot be overlooked but graciously allows for a quality of nature that captures life’s moments candidly and artistically. While exuding poise and professionalism, she retains a warmth that allows her subjects to feel confident and at ease. Once Mary and her camera have been a part of your life, you will continue to think of her at events and in life’s beautiful moments, wishing she was there to capture them in a way only a true artist can. With just a glimpse, Mary Satterthwaite’s art captures innocence, sincerity, depth and light. It is hard to believe that on the other end of the lens is a warm smile, a down to earth every day lover of life, my dear friend Mary Katherine Satterthwaite. -Sally Meeker

am very happy with her service, her work and her general attitude. She is a delightful photographer with great ideas and an artistic approach to her subjects. We are going to have some beautiful photos of our daughter's wedding.

our requests. Mary had plenty of ideas that we had not explored, candid shots and her artistic touches made my wife so happy about the results that hang all throughout our house. I would highly recommend MKL images and their team to anyone looking for true professionalism.

usband and I did alot of research looking for the right person for our day. We came across MKL Images and every picture that turned up, we liked! Mary has a very creative way of capturing the beauty of a single moment - we knew she was the one who was going to bring out the best in our wedding. From the start, Mary was great to work with - very personable and easy going. The moments she captured of us and our wedding party were truly magical - straight from a magazine! The post wedding shoot was just as effortless with Mary. With all of the photos in front of me, I am so thankful we choose Mary to capture all of those moments; memories that will last a lifetime.

he images were crisp and clear, creative and intimate. Definitely not something my neighbor who dabbles in photography could produce (sorry Frank!). I was so impressed with the whole experience I refer friends and colleagues to her whenever I get the chance. I would highly recommend MKL to anyone who can book her!
