Mike Blaufeld Boutique DJ Services & Uplighting

people would dance at our wedding (since there were so many elderly relatives attending). But his choice of music and song order really kept the dance floor packed for most of the night! He picked a good mix of popular songs throughout the decades and he read the crowd well. We are really happy we went with him for our DJ!

got everyone on the dance floor early, and somehow kept the party going strong the entire time. He has an amazing ability to read the room and play exactly what people want to hear without it feeling predictable. So many of our guests told us how much they loved the music. If you want a DJ who sets the tone, keeps the vibes high, and makes sure your guests have a blast, this is your guy!

the guests we were inviting. He then walked us through each aspect of the reception to ensure that everything went smoothly and seamlessly on the day of the wedding. Rather than playing a generic mix of songs, he personalized the playlist for our crowd and made sure that the dance floor was packed the entire night. The uplighting he provided was one of a kind and coordinated perfectly with our wedding colors. Overall, we cannot say enough positive things about Mike and we would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an outstanding DJ service.

t dancing the night away and Mike did a great job of reading the energy of the room and adjusting while also incorporating our list of preferred songs. Mike's style utilizes his expertise and he let us know from the beginning that he wanted the flexibility to read the room and determine what songs to play. If you are looking for someone to just play your song list, Mike is not it -- his expertise runs much deeper than that and was invaluable. We found that he picked great songs and has a lot of experience, which led to an unforgettable night and packed dance floor.

s are fire. Our dance floor was packed the entire time. Our friends and family kept coming up to us during the wedding telling us how amazing DJ Mike was. Thank you, Mike!

ting with our specific requests. As we did not have a wedding coordinator, he helped us to MC our event, and he did a great job. He also was able to provide uplighting to our venue, which really enhanced the atmosphere of the dancefloor. All in all, hiring DJ Mike was one of the best decisions we made for our reception, and we highly recommend him!

dance floor packed all night long. A classy, fun guy. Highly recommend.

ly what you want for your wedding playlist. Mike definitely was the perfect DJ and we are super thankful that we worked with him!

really tell he has experience with weddings he knew just what to do! Couldn’t have asked for a better DJ! Truly amazing!

laylist and amazing energy! Our dance floor was rocking all night long - he even did a Soul Train line for us which everyone thought was so fun. We loved Mike and if you’re looking for a DJ, he is your guy.

uring our consultation that he knows how to read a crowd and boy does he ever! He played hit after hit and our dance floor was packed all night long which is just what we wanted. He respected our do not play list and included our must haves which was so appreciated. Also during our consultation he mentioned that you want the reception to end on a high note while the dance floor is still packed which is exactly what happened. We also had him do our uplighting. He used a soft white to make the columns in the ballroom pop. Once the dancing started he switched to color changing lights. Both of which added to the ambiance throughout the reception.

found less stressful as the bride -- I did not have to create a wedding playlist. He played a variety of music to please the young and old, and the dance floor was full with guests of all ages. Most importantly, my husband and I had a great time and so did our guests!

requests for some of our songs and Mike executed them perfectly. We also had a very last minute change of our ceremony location site due to rain and Mike quickly shifted plans without any issue. His songs transitions during our reception were flawless and he did an excellent job reading the crowd. He had all of our guests - from our 90 year old grandparents to 2 year old nephews on the dance floor. We highly recommend him as a wedding DJ!

the DJ was. He was very professional and put great care into his work. I highly recommend booking DJ Mike!

ur family and friends enjoyed a great party, and many told us it was one of the most fun weddings they had attended. "10/10 dance floor experience" a friend shared. Mike incorporated our Indian and Latin music preferences and was flexible and great to work with throughout our wedding day and in the weeks prior. We highly recommend Mike Blaufeld if you are looking for a packed dance floor and fun-filled party for your wedding!

my sister's wedding a couple of years ago and without question knew that we wanted to work with him again. He makes the day go smoothly and comes prepared with everything needed for the ceremony + reception. He also puts the bride and groom at the center of attention - he does a really good job of making sure that it stays our day and what we want. Would absolutely recommend Mike to anyone!

get up off your butt and start dancing. Having him DJ my own wedding, a year later, was a thing of beauty. Everyone was having a good time and the dance floor was bumping. He's a friendly guy and knows his stuff!

d the exact versions of the songs for the specific dances, which was appreciated because they weren't common songs for those dances.

ktails and dinner, and fun music for dancing that got everyone on their feet. Our dance floor was full all night long with folks of all ages singing, dancing, and having a blast. He had really fun transitions between songs as well. He had a real talent for reading the room. Mike was also great at announcements and guiding guests through the night. We would highly recommend hiring Mike for your wedding!

was great with beautiful classical music. I also enjoyed the music he played for he cocktail hour and dinner. It was so classy! During the dancing portion, he played all the songs I asked for on the pre-submitted list and really catered to the crowd which was mostly people in their mid-30s and 40s. He kept the evening going smoothly too. The uplighting he provided in the venue was also stunning! It really elevated the space and made it extra elegant for us. We recommend Mike!

te the fact that neither of our family are crazy dancers or party-goers, he kept the dance floor busy with a unique and appropriate mix of music. Definitely hire Mike if you're looking for an excellent DJ!

y impressed by was his ability to navigate between our music tastes, and the types of music that tend to work best at weddings. All transitions were seamless, announcements were timely, clear, and low-key, and he was very pleasant to work with. Our wedding was especially casual, and he adapted to our no-frills approach with ease. He coordinated well with our month-of planner and other staff.

person to DJ our wedding and act as MC for the night. His professionalism came across right away, but also a great attitude that makes him such a pleasure to work with. Mike was incredibly responsive to our emails, which put our minds at ease early on in the process. On our wedding night, Mike handled everything expertly and kept the night on schedule. The music played got everyone off their feet and on the dance floor, which was very important to us. The music itself was of course great, but the mixes and transitions stood out in a very good way - it kept the energy up throughout the entire night! I distinctly remember the look on several of our guests' faces as the transitions happened, and the dance floor went crazy. Moments like these are just a piece of what Mike contributes to making the night so special and memorable. We highly recommend Mike to anyone looking for a DJ for your event!

the way. Mike was truly the best, even accommodating us after a COVID postponement. I have been to weddings where there have been multiple sound issues, but Mike's equipment was top of the line, and the sound was perfect throughout the entire ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. We had many of our guests coming up to us throughout the night and after the wedding to let us know how great the music was. Mike does not just 'play' songs, but actually mixes and creates transitions, incorporating mash-ups that made the night feel like a dance club. A few of our engaged friends even asked us for his info so they could hire him for their weddings next year. Mike kept the dance floor full the ENTIRE night. We had so much cake left over because people did not leave the dance floor to get dessert. We highly recommend Mike for your next event!!

and without complaint. I planned my entire wedding myself, with no experience, and I believe that Mike is the entire reason I got to relax and enjoy my reception. I put the evening in his capable hands and he was just phenomenal! He kept us on schedule, but was flexible as things changed and did not show any signs of stress. Our venue even asked for his name because they were so impressed with him. 100% recommend him to any bride or groom!

of them he was pleasant, supportive and flexible. In the weeks leading up to the event, he checked in the confirm arrival time, our timeline, our selected songs and any last minute questions. On the day of, he arrived on time and helped to ensure we stuck to our timeline. He played music based on the crowds, He was an absolute pleasure to work with and I highly recommend him!

erfect for our wedding. Throughout the planning process, Mike was patient and enthusiastic. He completely understood our music taste and, right before the wedding, we chatted for a long time and talked through every detail of the wedding. He suggested songs based on our preferences and made us feel so comfortable leading up to the wedding. On the wedding day, our dance floor was PACKED. All of our guests said the wedding ranked in their top 5 and servers remarked that they had never seen such a consistently crowded dance floor. Mike did an incredible job and we highly recommend him.

ncluding the music for pre-ceremony, ceremony, cocktail hour and the reception dance. He also set up the mic for the outdoor ceremony. The entrance music was an unusual choice, but he delivered with perfect timing. The dance music was terrific. The bride and groom asked for types of music and he read the crowd and chose great options. The dance floor was always crowded! Really helped to make the reception a fun joyful event.

worked behind the scenes with us to plan a special surprise for our "Father-Daughter Dance," providing a memory that we will treasure forever. We received many compliments from family and friend about the music selections for the whole evening. Our daughter and son-in-law couldn't be happier with Mike as DJ for their ceremony and reception.

e seamless and we all had a blast dancing the night way. We were extremely happy with our decision to hire Mike for our reception!

little nervous about but he was so right. Our dance floor was packed all night! If he noticed a song wasn't a hit he changed it quickly. The music was great with lots of variety. Mike himself was also polite, professional, and wonderful to work with. I highly recommend!

to do a phone consult with the both of us when we were together so he could get a good feel for what we both wanted on our wedding day. We then again met with Mike before the wedding in person to nail down all the last minute details. Without him, I would have had no timeline for my wedding day. Let's be real. I had not a clue in the world what goes into a reception "timeline", Mike realized this and completely took care of it. His timeline for the night was so clear and detailed that the catering staff, photographer, and videographer all based their night off his document as well. He was so easy to plan with. Organization aside, our main goal for the wedding was to make it fun and have everyone dancing the entire night. We did not want people in their seats watching the party. Mike handled that with EASE. He ensured us that he plays his songs, based on the room. If he starts to play something that he notices the room loves, he plays more like that song. If he played something that people did not know or like he seamlessly faded out the song and started playing something else. We had a short list of songs that we really wanted to hear and he deliberately found the perfect time to play every single one of our requests. When I heard the song I asked for, I looked up excited to hear my song and there was Mike giving me a thumbs up. He cares about making you happy and giving you a great time on your wedding day. To this day, while people rave about many things from the wedding, the overwhelming comment is always about Mike. Our wedding was five months ago and I still frequently hear comments like, "That DJ was AMAZING!", "That DJ knew how to keep a room on the dance floor!", "I wish I had hired him for our wedding!" and the best one to hear, "That was the most fun wedding I have ever been to!" Mike truly made our wedding reception a blast. He is extremely professional, easy to work with, and he cares about what he is doing. I would recommend him to anyone.

dy tops this guy. He listens to what you want, makes great recommendations and makes it happen. My daughter just got married this past weekend and we had all ages attending, seniors down to 6 year olds. He had something for everybody and kept all on the dance floor. Even the pre-dance music was appropriate with volume and genre. There wasn't a time during the night that there wasn't a large group of dancers on the floor. I'm 64 and I don't think I sat down once. He was timely and professional when making announcements and very accommodating. He was extremely attentive to detail, following the bride and grooms instructions on play lists as well as being able to accommodate requests. Truly amazing gentleman with a great personality to match. I can't imagine using anybody else! Top notch, real quality a gentleman with a great selection of music and a solid sound system. Strongly recommend!!!

r to see why. Mike has a ton of experience and gave us great recommendations during the planning stage. At our wedding, he kept everything on track and was flexible when we added a speech at the last minute and had to change the timing of events during the reception. He also did uplighting at our reception which gave the reception a really fun vibe. We liked that Mike was the one we had the planning sessions with and he was the one to DJ our wedding, not like some of the bigger companies that send a random DJ. We received a ton of compliments on the DJ at our wedding and a friend even asked for his information for her wedding. Go with Mike, you won't regret it!

stars on this site, I would. If you live in the Northern VA/D.C./MD area, and you don’t hire Mike to be your DJ, you are making a huge mistake! Mike met with us a few weeks before the wedding to talk through logistics of the evening and through some of our “do not play” song requests. We were at first skeptical, because Mike does not take song requests (He will take about 10 requests if there are songs you have to hear at your wedding/event). We decided to trust Mike and not give him any requests. We let him do his thing. I cannot emphasize enough that our dance floor NEVER had a dull moment. Mike read the room and played songs that he knew our guests would dance to. Mike played song after song after song. There was never a break between songs – one song flowed seamlessly into the next! He didn’t interrupt the music with unnecessary announcements – you never even noticed he was there throughout the dance portion of the evening! I overheard guests while they danced, saying: “I have to go to the bathroom, but I just can’t miss the next song!” Forget the photobooths, and just hire Mike to keep your guests dancing all night long! The multi-color/disco uplighting lit up and changed to the music, adding to the fun. When he turned that on, our guests literally gasped. My maid of honour had a lot of guests telling her how amazing the DJ was! Mike was easy to work with the whole way through. He always let us know when he received our payments, and answered e-mails the same day I sent them. I wish every wedding I went to would hire Mike, because then I know it would be a blast! Guests told us it was one of (if not the most fun) weddings they have ever been to. I know a huge part of this was thanks to Mike!

vent would work at what point in the night, and everything went off without a hitch. We could tell he takes a lot of pride in his work, and he took special care to make sure everything from our ceremony music to name pronunciations for intros were perfect. From the get-go, we were confident in his experience and ability to read a crowd and apart from our "special songs" we gave him pretty much free reign with our playlist. The dance floor was packed all night and everyone stuck around until the very end! We've received so many compliments on Mike and are so happy we hired him for our wedding!

very last song. There was truly not a moment where the dance floor was not packed! Mike not only took care of music, but he also helped with the wedding timeline, made announcement, and kept our reception running smoothly. You need him at your wedding!!

music and mics for an outdoor ceremony, but from our first phone call with Mike, we could tell that he was well-organized and detail oriented in a way that made us feel really well-supported and more comfortable with the planning process. Moving forward, Mike spoke with us by phone, through email, and even organized a meet-up in person in order to lock down and discuss more details about the wedding to help the entire event go smoothly. He was incredibly responsive, helpful, and provided guidance as questions came up along the way. Our venue was very rural and many of our plans were weather-contingent, but Mike was an absolute pro and his extensive experience with providing wedding DJ services helped us create manageable plans to cover all of our options. From the ceremony (which did get to be outdoors!) to the reception, Mike helped everything go perfectly. So many of our guests have contacted us to tell us how much they specifically enjoyed the music and dancing – From the first to the last song, our dance floor was absolutely packed! Wedding planning often feels like a team sport, and Mike is definitely someone you want on your roster. We wholeheartedly recommend Mike to all couples planning their own exciting day.

multiple guests told us afterwards how much they enjoyed the music selection!

ly tell-he exuded professionalism from our first encounter with him. He took the time out to call us when we first expressed interest, he met with us in person less than 2 months before our wedding to go over song choices, bridal party names, order of ceremony, etc. He even took the time out to learn the phonetic spelling of certain last names which I think just goes above and beyond in his attention to detail. Finally-we felt like we could really trust him with his music selections. We honestly had very few songs selected and just let him run the show and it was the BEST.PARTY.EVER!! He never the music break, everything flowed perfectly, there were no awkward pauses and he had great suggestions for us in the planning process. The uplighting services he provides are a huge plus too- if you're thinking of hiring a DJ in the DMV area, Mike is your guy!

s, and most of the 'older' songs were high-energy remixes. My parents were delighted at how many songs they knew! The crowd loved our DJ and the dancefloor was packed all night. Mike did not need any direction from us and we were happy to defer to his expert opinion on when to transition the music. He also listened very carefully to us during our planning phone calls about what we wanted, and he kept the schedule of events during the wedding going exactly on time. He was an excellent master of ceremonies, and he brought all the equipment we needed for the ceremony, speeches, and dancefloor. Thanks for helping us throw a truly fun party that our guests will remember!

nd kept everyone dancing!
