About this vendor
When I photograph a wedding, I want to photograph what it felt like not how it looked. I want to create timeless images that will allow you to relive the experience. What I’m after are the candid moments that add up to tell your story. Even when it comes to portraits, I will give you plenty of direction but I what I’m looking for is nuance and genuine emotion.
Being a wedding photographer is about a lot more than taking pictures. I am here to help you through it. I’ll fluff your dress, make sure you are hydrated and wrangle the family. I want to add to your experience and hopefully make you laugh while I’m at it.
If you would like to know more please send me an email or give me a call so we can set up a time to talk. I'd love to meet you!

I would 100% recommend Mary for any wedding photography needs you might have. She truly has an artist's eye but also brings genuine warmth and kindness. She was very professional a...
nd communicated well. I appreciated her flexibility around a shifting schedule. She always had a positive attitude. Even when we were rushing to keep on schedule she managed to take some iconic shots. I love the photos she took, which include a mix of film and digital. Her work will be cherished for years to come.
Mary is an ARTIST and brought the best, laidback and positive energy to our wedding! She made us feel super comfortable and we'll cherish her photos.
Mary was an amazing photographer for our wedding - we couldn’t be happier with our choice. Mary photographed our Sangeet, our wedding ceremony and our reception- all of which had m...
any details within them, from performances to speeches to giant dance floors. Mary was able to perfectly capture the joy, energy and love of our special weekend. She was also a joy to work with throughout the process - whether it was preparing months in advance or during the weekend itself. Mary was able to plan effectively but also roll with the punches as they came. The photos speak for themselves- we are so thrilled with the outcome & couldn’t recommend her more highly.
We hired Mary for our wedding and we could not have been happier with choosing her as the photographer of our wedding day! Mary captured so many special moments, but the ones we lo...
ved most were those candid pictures that first attracted us to her portfolio, as well as her black and white photographs. Mary was super communicative and collaborative before and during the wedding day. We would recommend Mary 100%!
We've had the pleasure of working with Mary twice now. We hired her for our wedding last year, which was postponed due to COVID. Since we weren't sure when if ever we'd be able to ...
host a full reception, we eloped on our original date. Mary photographed the elopement and the full scale wedding this past weekend. Our elopement photos are amazing and the preview we've gotten so far of the wedding are even more amazing!
We originally contacted Mary because we loved the look and style of her portfolio. We hired her because her vibe seemed to match what we wanted. We got exactly what we were hoping for on both fronts. You can look at her portfolios yourself, so let's discuss what it is like to work with her.
First, formal portraits. This is where you interact with your photographer the most directly. Mary is low-stress, but high energy. Her confidence is infectious and she communicates clearly, so you can be sure that everyone will look their best. We immediately felt comfortable letting her direct us, so everything went very smoothly. She wrangled the whole wedding party, consistently repositioning folks, frequently adjusting us as the unpredictable Seattle daylight shifted, and kept everyone smiling the whole time, without ever being the center of attention herself. It felt less like a photoshoot and more like getting tagged in to a game that was going on while everyone was hanging out.
As for the rest of the night, Mary was always present, but never in the way. She captured some really fantastic candid photos of us and our wedding guests. We just knew that she was going to produce amazing results, so we didn't have to attend to it at all, we could just focus on our ceremony and enjoy our party.
Mary is a fantastic photographer and we were thrilled to have her on our wedding team! We give Mary our highest recommendation.
Mary came recommended as a "dream photographer" in ...
a blog post on A Practical Wedding, and we could not agree more.
After booking Mary, she generously offered to take time during a personal trip and shoot our engagement photos in Los Angeles (where we live.) With no time for advance location scouting, Mary's trained eye for detail, direction and lighting produced wonderful photos in an outdoor setting much different from the PNW.
Mary was patient, supportive and helpful even as we changed our wedding plans no fewer than three times (!) due to COVID-19. We scaled back our ceremony considerably and did not use a planner, but Mary was so easy to work with leading up to the event date.
During a drizzly, cold and windy day on Whidbey Island, Mary had a positive, relaxed attitude that kept us at ease throughout the day. Her photos are truly special and distinctive, and we will treasure them forever.
My husband and I had a small wedding - 25 people - and wanted a photographer to capture the mood and emotion of the day without adding any stress. Mary has a great personality and ...
made the photo-taking process a breeze - even the staged family portrait part. We now have hundreds of lovely photos to cherish and to share with our friends and family members who weren't at our tiny wedding. We loved her!
We wanted a photographer who could capture the mood, intimacy and joy of our wedding day. Mary delivered. She made everyone feel comfortable and relaxed, and it showed in her beaut...
iful photos. Beyond being professional, she is also easy going and was fun to work with. Hire Mary - you won't regret it!
We looked at dozens and dozens of photographers' portfolios when we were planning our wedding, but I had a hard time feeling a connection with any of their work. When we found Mary...
, it was a perfect blend of down-to-earth attitude but at the same time capturing the emotions of the day. She was very responsive and communicative with us throughout the process, and even met with us during a brief visit back to Seattle while planning our wedding from California. She made sure she understood exactly what we were hoping to get out of the photos and the results were amazing. On the day itself she was professional, but relaxing and worked great with all of our wedding parties and families. She had a disarming personality but also found a way to get the most out of each situation. I couldn't have asked for a better experience or better photos. She perfectly captured all of the happiness that I remember, as well as all kinds of hidden moments that I didn't! I would hire her again in an instant.
Finding the right photographer was the most important piece in my wedding planning. I wanted someone who took incredible photos, but also captured the emotion of the day - not just...
a stylized shoot. After shopping around, I found Mary and I was so happy I did.
You can feel the excitement, laughter, and love through each image she captures. Her editing is flawless, the images were delivered quickly, and she was super flexible on getting a second shooter for us.
She is also a super fun person! If we lived in Seattle, I would hope to hang out with her often as friends. It was great to have her relaxed and confident attitude throughout the day. She had us laughing and feeling so comfortable in front of the camera. The wedding party and our families both loved having her capture the day and told us multiple times afterward.
The images bring us so much joy to look over. I can hear the laughs, feel the nerves, and almost hear the music while I look through them. Mary put together a beautiful story of our day - and I'm so grateful for every image. I'm able to relive the magic every time I look through them.
I highly recommend Mary and her work for your special day too. :)

as so happy to find out that she was willing to travel to Palm Springs for our big day! From start to finish, she was so great to work with. Not only was the experience fantastic, but the pictures are so beautiful. We love Mary and will be calling her again for our next photography needs!
Mary is amazing! Awesome to work with and her photography is stunning. She's incredibly talented!

When it came to the event, she was present, professional, fun, and put us all at ease! She made my husband and I feel comfortable in front of the camera, which is no easy feat.
What I've seen of the pictures so far are beyond my wildest expectations. She captured everything I remember feeling that day.
I can't recommend her highly enough!

ing (spoiler alert: she did). We met her for lunch before booking, and she was so warm and friendly that locking her in was an obvious choice. Email communication was always easy and prompt. She provided a form a couple weeks before the wedding for a shot list, which made it easy to share what we needed.
On the day of, Mary and her second shooter were warm, friendly, professional, and all-around awesome. They were on time, kept things rolling, and were easy-going and fun. We really enjoyed having them both be part of our day, not just as professionals, but as people.
About a month after, I emailed her to find out when we'd get to see the photos. She gave us an estimate of 6-8 weeks, and they were delivered right on time, exactly 1 day after our 8 week anniversary. As hoped, they are absolutely beautiful, and truly reflect who we are and what our day was all about.
