About this vendor
Tucked beneath centuries-old live oaks draped in Spanish moss, Kirks Mansion is an iconic Lowcountry landmark where timeless history meets modern romance. Built in 1838 and lovingly restored, this breathtaking Gothic Revival mansion invites couples to experience the magic of the South through an unforgettable, all-weekend celebration.
Situated on twelve private acres along the Colleton River in Bluffton, South Carolina, the Mansion combines stately charm with an effortless sense of ease. From the brick-lined drive and grand double doors to the sweeping porches and panoramic marsh views, every detail whispers Southern storybook romance.
When you host your wedding here, the property becomes entirely yours for the weekend. Our Wedding Weekend Experience includes exclusive use of the Mansion and its grounds—allowing you to turn your “day” into a full weekend of memories. Gather your wedding party for a welcome dinner beneath the oaks, exchange vows in front of the historic façade, dance under the stars, and end the night knowing your closest friends and family are just steps away inside the Mansion’s elegant private suites.
All events take place outdoors, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Lowcountry. The soft light through the moss-covered trees, the sound of the marsh beyond the gardens, and the glow of candlelight on the veranda create a romantic atmosphere that needs little else. Inside, the Mansion’s antique furnishings, curated artwork, and grand piano add warmth and authenticity to your stay, while modern amenities—private pool, billiards room, library, and spa-style baths—ensure every comfort.
Guests often describe their time here as “stepping into another world.” It’s a place where laughter lingers under the oaks, where history and celebration intertwine, and where every photo feels cinematic. Whether you’re hosting 30 or 300 guests, the grounds flow seamlessly from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception beneath the stars, with every backdrop more breathtaking than the last.
You’ll also have a dedicated on-site team ensuring your weekend unfolds flawlessly—from vendor arrivals to farewell brunch. We pride ourselves on offering the kind of Southern hospitality that makes everyone feel at home while keeping every detail polished and professional.
Whether you’re planning an intimate weekday elopement, a one-day celebration, or a full weekend wedding retreat, Kirks Mansion offers something truly rare: a historic setting that feels intimate, elevated, and unmistakably Lowcountry. This isn’t just where you’ll celebrate—it’s where your love story becomes part of the Mansion’s history.

We stayed the weekend in Rose Hill Mansion with our wedding party and absolutely loved it. The Mansion and the property are stunning and provided the perfect setting for our ceremo...
ny and reception.
One month prior to our wedding, the team kindly allowed us to come on the property to bury a bottle of bourbon—a Southern tradition that brings good weather (and it worked!!).
During our contract period, the Mansion changed ownership, and with that came the addition of Lynn, the venue assistant. Lynn went above and beyond throughout the weekend—guiding us through the rehearsal dinner, supporting us on the wedding day, and even helping with the day-after clean-up. She was truly incredible, and the Mansion is so lucky to have her.
We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful venue or a more helpful team to make our wedding weekend unforgettable.
The most beautiful venue. Such a classic Lowcountry space with tons of oak trees full of Spanish moss. The mansion itself is the coolest place to get ready full of history. I would...
recommend over and over!!!
We went on a mansion tour in April 2016 with my grandma who lives in Bluffton. My, now husband, is a Social Studies teacher and was captivated by the history of the plantation. He ...
looked at me and said, “If we get married, I’d love to have the reception here.” Two months later on June 26th 2016 we got engaged and on July 3rd we paid our deposit for June 30th 2018!
Kirstin and Gina have been nothing but helpful, responsive and excited for us as we planned our Rose Hill wedding! They were always available via email and phone and helped so much throughout the entire weekend, being accessible at the mansion to assist or handle anything we needed in the moment.
Over our two year engagement we visited the mansion on three occasions and were always welcomed with open arms... first with our florist, then with our photographer and finally to bury bourbon on the property in hopes of having nice weather on our special day… and it worked! We had nothing but bright sunshine and a beautiful sunset until the party ended and our guests went home for the night. We were also blessed with beautiful weather on Friday at the rehearsal dinner and Sunday at the send off brunch, both also at Rose Hill.
We can’t thank the White family enough for their permission to get married at their home and for their kindness and hospitality throughout the two years we planned our wedding. They are two of the most wonderful people.
Steer clear. The rudest, most unreasonable people I have ever worked with. I would not recommend this vendor.
Everything was perfect! They all did a fantastic job!
My husband and I just recently got married at Rose Hill Mansion on September 20th! My husband actually found Rose Hill and after seeing the breath-taking views along with a one of...
a kind scenery we had no difficulty deciding to have our wedding at Rose Hill Mansion. The staff was so kind and truly went out of their way throughout the planning stages to allow us access to the home to finalize decisions for our upcoming day. Additionally, all of our guests were so complimentary of the staff and their historic knowledge of the house. Everyone was so helpful and went out of their way to make everything so hospitable for our wedding guests. Everything from the morning of the wedding to the wedding itself and the reception went flawlessly. This is a stunning, gorgeous, and absolutely unique wedding venue- one that truly provides you with southern beauty and charm. I would highly recommend this venue to any bride looking for a southern feel around the hilton head island area! I had a wonderful experience and to all other brides in the planning stages I hope this review helps and wish you all the best in the future!
If you’re dreaming of a southern fairytale wedding, look no further than Rose Hill Mansion!!! My husband (still feels weird to write that!) and I could not have asked for a better...
venue. The staff at Rose Hill is incredible, and they were an absolute pleasure to work with. I worked primarily with Cynthia, and found her to be kind, responsive, and organized. On our wedding day everyone at Rose Hill was so welcoming to our guests that several of my friends and family made a point of complimenting me on the “southern hospitality” at our venue. As far as the venue itself goes, it is absolutely stunning. It really does look like a picture out of a storybook. Do yourself a favor and get married at Rose Hill Mansion!
P.S. I don’t know anything about the last reviewer’s wedding, but my experience could not have been more different. I had no issues with the staff or owner whatsoever. In fact, it was quite the opposite; they were very kind and accommodating. There was no turnover, and no vendors expressed concern at working with Rose Hill.
Problems encountered from the day after we signed the contract and paid the deposit. Working with this venue was extremely difficult. We asked questions before signing the contract...
but did not ask for any special concessions. The staff changed every few months and with each new representative we were given additional rules to follow that were not in the contract. Each representative told us the owners did not like the terms of the original contract but they would “try to honor it.” Several vendors expressed concern with the venue due to problems they encountered. With so many red flags, we reserved a backup venue worried up until the day of the wedding whether they would in fact honor the contract. Our contract stated use of the venue the evening prior to the wedding for rehearsal and setup. The owner very reluctantly allowed a rehearsal, stipulating outside only even though there was a 75% chance of severe thunderstorms for the wedding, and we were not permitted to do any setup. Beside contract issues, the paint on the house was peeling badly, bush trimmings were left on the lawn and a large trench was dug up around the pool and garden patio. Even with the poor exterior maintenance, the venue was breathtaking and we do compliment the actual staff on hand the day of the wedding, they were extremely gracious. Sad for us, management/ownership problems tainted an otherwise perfect event.
