Madeleine's Bridal Boutique

ul. I said yes July 5, 2025, over a year before my July 31, 2026 wedding. My appointment with Misty was wonderful. I found my dream dress and ordered the champagne underlay changed to ivory. Before returning to San Diego, I asked my appointment day if additional measurements were needed since I had my wedding shoes with me. I was told no. The next day, I was told Sherri needed a hollow-to-hem measurement, requiring another trip to Fresno in August. I am 4’8” and the gown has detailed work along the bottom, this measurement was especially important. In December, my dress arrived. The fit and ivory color were beautiful, but it was extremely long even longer than the sample. We were told my hollow-to-hem measurement had been included, but I was never shown the order confirming it. Because of the detailing, the dress had to be reordered. Communication afterward became frustrating. My mother repeatedly called, left voicemails and texts for updates, many unanswered. On June 6, less than two months before my wedding, I returned expecting to take my replacement dress home. It was TOO SHORT. I was wearing the exact wedding shoes used for my measurement, yet the front was above my ankles. Sherri partially unzipped the back, pulled the dress down and said, “There, now it is not too short.” Except it was sitting incorrectly and was uncomfortable. When I walked carefully to avoid scuffing my wedding shoes she said, “Why are you walking like that? Walk straight.” She then asked if my ceremony was outdoors and told me because it was, it was “fine” that the dress was short. That was incredibly upsetting. I did not order my wedding dress to be “fine” because my ceremony was outdoors. I ordered it according to measurements specifically taken so it would touch the floor in my wedding shoes. Thankfully, their independent seamstress, Mandy, was wonderful. She could let the dress out but would not return until July 23, so I made an emergency trip back to Fresno. Mandy worked a miracle. The dress finally fit beautifully, covered my feet tastefully, and had a beautiful bustle. For the first time, I felt relieved and happy with my dress. On July 28, my sister-in-law picked up the dress to bring to San Diego. Given everything that happened, she checked the dress and veil before driving several hours. Sherri later called my mother complaining that she was rude and wanted to “take apart” the dress and veil. She was simply making sure everything was correct after TWO dresses had arrived with problems. My mother explained the poor communication, mishandled measurements, two incorrect dress lengths and lack of partnership throughout this process. Only then did Sherri apologize. My dress ultimately turned out beautiful, but it should never have taken this much stress, anxiety, and uncertainty. I ordered it more than a year in advance specifically to give myself plenty of time, yet my completed dress finally made it to San Diego the night before my wedding. I am incredibly grateful to Mandy, and my experiences with Misty and my newer consultant were positive. Unfortunately, they cannot outweigh everything else that happened. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Madeleine’s. The dress itself was my dream dress. Getting it from Madeleine’s Bridal Boutique was a nightmare.

another level of pure beauty beyond what the bride's vision is/was. My daughter and I unconditionally just trusted her wonderful guidance and watching my daughter walking down the aisle, proved beyond my vision, we made the best choice. My advice brides, book your appt at Madeline's!

after the dress was ordered. I live out of state, so I was supposed to pick up my dress when I went to visit family for Thanksgiving. The dress did not get in until after the new year. In addition, I had to call multiple times to actually figure out when my dress was coming in. Every time I called they said they would check and get back to me, then never did. When I ordered the dress, I paid to have the transparent parts lined and to add long straps. Neither of those things were actually done. The owner ordered extra fabric and longer straps after I got the dress so that I could have my alterations person add them in. Turns out they don't actually make longer straps and I had to have my alterations person combine two sets of straps. All of these things added to the cost of the alterations. Now on to the BIGGEST ISSUE. When the owner measured me to see what size to order, she said that the sizing chart showed I would be a 10, but she thought that was too big so she ordered me an 8 instead. When the dress came in, it was WAY too tight. The seamstress at Madeleine's told my mom that there was extra room in the seams for the dress to be let out. This was not true. Because of the way the back of the dress was, it was extremely difficult to let it out even a little bit. My alterations lady was amazing and worked tirelessly to let it out in any spot she could, and even after that it is still tighter than is comfortable. Again, this raised the cost of my alterations, and if my alterations lady wasn't so talented I would have spent all that money on a dress that I couldn't even fit into. All in all, when I first went the service was great but it wasn't worth the stress and them completely messing up my dress.

y wedding stress. I worked with this shop for 14 months, regarding my dress, my groom's suit, my groomsmen's suits, and I tried to order my flower girl dress & ring bearer suit through this shop as well but the owner, Sherri, never got back to me about the flower girl & ring bearer suit, up to the very moment of this publication. I ended up buying them from David's Bridal. Long story short, my dress was incorrectly ordered several sizes too big, even after I questioned it & was reassured. Our suit process started in July, but we didn't actually have everything, in their correct sizes until the day before the wedding, even though it was stated multiple times that we needed everything no later than 2 weeks prior. We were promised dates, which would come & go with zero communication. My husband and I were having to reach out and chase Sherri down, when items would come in, they would be the wrong sizes and have to be reordered. We had one groomsman who lives out of state and she sent him to MULTIPLE shops which were closed, that she allegedly contracts with, one of them being a THREE hour round trip! She told the groomsman he couldn't tell the groom or bride, but of course he told us. She tried to change prices multiple times, and when the men corrected her on it, she decided to make comments on their careers. PLEASE, brides, save yourself the headache & the stress. It was a nightmare & I do not understand how this shop is still in business. We heard from other customers who had weddings the same week we did, that they were having similar issues with this shop. Yes, customers talk when they see each other at the same tailoring shops. I did not even leave my dress to be pressed because I could not trust this shop with it for another second. I paid extra to have it done by someone else who worked quickly to get it back to me. I really hoped that at the end of the day, I was going to have a good experience with this shop & it's owner, Sherri, because they are a local business and we spent SO much money there (all of the groomsmen purchased their suits, not rented). However, it was the opposite, literally up until the day of the wedding because she kept getting things incorrect. Just don't shop here, don't fall for the razzle dazzle at your initial appointment, because I did & it is my biggest regret.
