Lovely Bride DC

Spain. I explained that I would depart May 14 and specifically asked whether I needed to rush the order. My consultant, Ursula, assured me there was plenty of time. The portal estimated delivery February 26, so I scheduled alterations around that date. Beginning January 30, I repeatedly emailed for updates. My messages went unanswered, the portal never changed, and I had to call repeatedly for basic information. I was told delays of two to three weeks were normal and reassured the gown would arrive. Instead, pickup appointments were repeatedly rescheduled or canceled, including one canceled roughly two hours beforehand despite a prior confirmation. I had to cancel alterations appointments on April 7 and 15. Promised calls on April 11 and 15 never came; I had to chase the boutique myself. Then I was told my gown had ARRIVED but had a serious manufacturing defect in the skirt, requiring the entire dress to be sent back to Renhue. I was promised a turnaround of about a week. That passed without meaningful updates. I asked where my gown was, whether it was being repaired or remade, and when it would ship. I was told some details were “proprietary.” With my international wedding approaching, I spent a weekend searching for a backup dress. On April 17, I formally escalated the matter. On April 20, I contacted Renhue directly and spoke with co-founder Tara. What I learned was shocking: according to Renhue, the boutique had not placed my order until APRIL 19, almost six months after I paid. Renhue said my gown had not previously been made, delivered to the store, or returned because of a defect. Renhue had also been told I had canceled and replaced my order. I had never canceled anything. The boutique’s explanations were fundamentally inconsistent with what the designer told me. Renhue immediately prioritized production, kept me informed, and shipped my gown directly to me; it arrived April 27. Lovely Bride’s founder, Lanie, eventually intervened and covered expedited alterations, which I appreciate. But the consequences did not disappear because the dress arrived. My alterations were compressed into the final days before travel, and I received my finished, altered gown ONE DAY before flying to Spain. There was no meaningful opportunity to live with the final fit, request additional changes, or feel fully prepared. I did everything I was supposed to do months in advance, yet spent the weeks before my wedding anxious, chasing answers and fearing I would not have the dress I loved. Even now, my memories of my wedding gown are entangled with that stress and disappointment. After the wedding, I followed up about the investigation Lanie had promised. She acknowledged failures in the DC location’s order management, communication and staff oversight, and said she had terminated the franchise agreement and taken back the store. But she could not provide a clear account of what happened to my order. I appreciate Renhue’s extraordinary responsiveness and that Lovely Bride paid for alterations. Neither changes the months of contradictory information, canceled appointments, lost preparation time and emotional toll. No bride should have to investigate whether a nearly $5,000 dress was ever ordered. I cannot recommend the experience I had with Lovely Bride DC.
