Love Is In the Hair

professional and helpful. When my wedding venue fell through, she and her team were very accommodating and happy to switch venues. After my trial, I expressed some concerns about how my look turned out, and Michelle wrote a detailed email thanking me for my feedback and explaining how we could make some changes for my wedding day. Michelle was very responsive in the weeks leading up whenever I reached out about changing the schedule or adding/dropping someone. On the day of my wedding, everything turned out PERFECTLY! My hair and makeup artist, Lisa, knew that I wanted to go more "glam" than my trial, and boy did she execute! Her ability to do both natural looks and glam looks demonstrated her versatility as an artist and guarantees that this team can give you whatever look you want on your wedding day (even if you change your mind at the last minute!) Not just me, but all my bridesmaids and other VIPs loved how they looked and enjoyed the experience. While they are a bit on the higher-end price wise (especially for the H&MU trial), they communicate their prices upfront on their website with gratuity included, so you don't need to worry about calculating a tip on your wedding day. Regardless, it's worth paying for top-notch service on one of the biggest days of your life! I would highly recommend Love is In the Hair.

inute. I gave Love Is in the Hair a call and they were able to send someone out within an hour!!! Truly amazing. They went above and beyond for me. And my hair and makeup looked PHENOMENAL. Exactly what I wanted from the pictures I showed them. Super professional, right on time, knew exactly what they were doing. Worked very efficiently too because I was on a time crunch. They truly saved the day!!

oes not wear a lot of makeup in her everyday life, I was very stressed about looking “over done” on my wedding day. I did a paid trial with Lisa to help bring my vision to life and had time to sit and think on my look before wedding day. On the day itself Lisa and I talked through what worked with the trial and what didn’t. She made me feel heard and not silly for asking specific questions or why certain products are used (spoiler! Lisa knows her stuff). She was able to achieve what I consider the best I’ve ever looked with professional makeup and hair. I felt so beautiful and looked like MYSELF. Michelle and Dory were also a part of the day-of-team and they made all my girls look like their best beautiful selves. The vibes in the bridal suite were fun and comfortable -- something that isn’t always the case when you’re a bridesmaid (let alone a bride!) in a bridal party. And the best part for a stressed out bride like myself, we finished ahead of schedule! So we had some time to catch-up after our make-up and hair were finished and Lisa, Michelle, and Dory were just so lovely to spend that extra time with. I honestly had the best time with these amazing gals and would recommend them again in a heartbeat.

oked great, even late into the night. Both mothers were glowing all day. But my favorite part of it, was everyone still looked like their normal selves. It wasn't like stage makeup and unnatural updos... Everyone looked fresh and light and just so good. I was so happy. Highly highly recommend. They were wonderful and made my day so easy and fun.

professional and clear about what was needed and what we were getting. It was super easy to set up my trial and I loved how my hair and makeup turned out! Lisa listened to my feedback and heard what I was going for. All of my bridesmaids and my mother and my husband's mother loved what they did!! We can't speak highly enough about them.

tion + humans. Expectations were communicated upfront, their team coordinated with our schedule beautifully, and they made my girls/ladies feel pampered + listened to on the day of the wedding. In planning our wedding from start to finish, I can't tell you how grateful I am to have had them as part of our vendor team.

e especially impressed with Lisa who did both brides' hair. She was so sweet, detail-oriented, and stuck with us during some stressful changes in the weather that caused unprecedented delays. Thank you Lisa for keeping us calm (and beautiful) when the weather had other plans!

which is nerve racking but their styling was above and beyond what I could have imagined!

th them! I am especially grateful for this team as we navigated multiple date changes and postponements. I’m so grateful for this awesome team for making my day feel so special!

sion to life and made me feel supported and heard throughout the entire process. I couldn't recommend them enough.

r for the original site and they agreed to move with us! We had a such a fun time having bride, bridesmaids, mother of the bride and close friends all get ready together. Michelle has a great team, she kept to her schedule, and always kept it fun and professional! A true pro!

team, my entire bridal party looked beautiful!

ng and it was exactly as I hoped it would be. 100% recommend using them if you can!

verything was flawless. They traveled to South Lake Tahoe for us and even started early so that we could have an early departure to our Venue (West Shore Cafe). Everyone absolutely loved their hair and make up and I would recommend Love Is In The Hair 1000x over!

ssly transitioned to our new date in 2021. After nearly 2 years of waiting, my bridesmaids, mother, and mother-in-law loved their looks on our wedding day. Michelle worked with me to bring my bridal vision to life and helped make my day so memorable! I highly recommend Love Is In the Hair for your Tahoe wedding.

al. They did such an amazing job. Thank you team!

good at what they do. They are also great to work with leading up to the wedding day with all the pre-planning details. I highly recommend them!

to know. The wedding day is already a big enough deal, and I'm sure many brides say this, but I am extremely particular about my makeup and hair. I have done my own makeup and hair at most weddings I've been in. Lisa was on top of every detail and did wonders even when I changed up the hairstyle I wanted the day of the wedding!! The whole team was stellar and were extremely professional, prompt, and prepared especially under the extenuating circumstances of covid. Lisa stayed kept a carefully organized kit with her as she stayed late to do touch ups for pictures and was readily available. It felt as if she popped up out of no where and was ready to assist! Instead of feeling nervous on the big day I felt completely taken care of, happy and at ease. It was such a dream. Thank you Love Is In the Hair for making the day so perfect for me, my mom, mother in law, and for my bridesmaids! We love you!!

an even more emotional and uncertain time for everyone. From our first conversation Michelle was so kind, caring and accommodating every time we spoke. We had many changes in plans and services, each time Michelle spoke to me with sincere compassion. Love is in the Hair was outstanding to work with and we highly recommend them for your wedding hair and makeup needs! Would give more stars if I could. The team of professionals that took care of us the day of the wedding were prompt, talented and so fabulous to work with and they were so talented! Everyone looked absolutely beautiful. Thank you Michelle, Lisa and Team you were AMAZING!

ers. Their team is insanely talented and made us feel like a million bucks! I have highly recommended them to several brides and hope to work with them again one day! Thank you so much Michelle & Lisa! We are so grateful to you for making our day so special.

er responses and made accommodations for our early morning wedding. I highly recommend the Love Is In The Hair team. On the morning of our wedding the stylist/artist was there ahead of schedule and even finished early. She was easy to talk to and understood the look I was going for. My makeup and hair lasted well into the evening, which is a huge complement considering our wedding was in the AM. Quit reading reviews and book with this team!

rything went perfect. Michelle was very intuitive and picked up without me even saying anything on exactly what I wanted! I felt like the most beautiful bride in the world and I cannot thank them enough. The day of the wedding we all got ready at a house in Northstar village and they were all on time, professional and really fun to get ready with! It also snowed on our outdoor September wedding and our hair held perfectly! It was the best morning and experience and I cannot thank them enough!

does. She was always on top of her responses when I emailed or called her with questions. Her and her team were so wonderful the day of the wedding, bringing an added happiness and excitement to all of us getting ready. Our hair and makeup turned out amazing, flawless and better than expected. You can't go wrong with Love Is In the Hair!

did not disappoint. Communication was clear and straightforward leading up to the wedding. The team arrived on-time and ready to go. Everyone’s hair and makeup turned out AMAZing. I felt like their most important client the whole way through and felt absolutely beautiful on my wedding day. Plus, we had a lot of fun! Having all of this go smoothly helped me focus on the stuff that mattered and made for such a magical day!

during the day that it matters who you do it with and Michelle made me feel so at ease and we had such a good time. Not to mention what a rockstar she is when it comes to hair and makeup!!! From the moment I met Michelle I felt like I had known her forever. She's so sweet and patient and wants to make sure you look and feel your best on your day. On the actual day she changed my lip color a few times because of how indecisive I was and she didn't mind it one bit. She was so patient and wants her clients to be happy! She's also always educating herself to improve and stay up to date on the new trends. Couldn't recommend Michelle and team enough. Love them <3

e had great suggestions for my hair and makeup trial, and I could not have been happier with how it translated into my finished look on the day of my wedding. My bridesmaids all wanted unique hairstyles, and they all turned out so beautifully. Everyone felt so heard about the level of makeup desired without compromising what is needed for photography. I recommend them to all my friends looking to get married in the Tahoe/Truckee area!

he morning we got ready! She brought her own creative ideas to enhance the looks we had wanted to achieve!

ing, Michelle has seemed like one of my best friends! For my engagement photos, I decided last-minute I wanted HMU and she graciously worked me into her day. Love is in the Hair is very responsive to emails, texts, and all communication. I felt like I was a true Tahoe bride from that point on! I knew I was in good hands for my wedding HMU with Michelle! She made me feel so beautiful by accentuating my natural features. I typically don’t wear a lot of make-up day-to-day and she knew exactly what kind of HMU would be best. She is the expert and I left it up to her and she exceeded my expectations! She is truly PHENOMENAL! My mom came with me for my HMU trial. We showed her a few Instagram and Pinterest inspiration photos and Michelle began her magic! We had so much fun with Michelle and it got us even more excited in the month leading up to the wedding. She was showing us which products work best and why. We gave me several tips on make-up application. She is so wonderful! She has a passion for HMU and you can tell. She sincerely listens to what you want and has the expertise to bring it to fruition. Michelle did my HMU for my rehearsal dinner and for my wedding. I felt so relaxed and had so much fun with her and the Love is in the Hair team. I completely trust her and she is a true professional. She knows that this is your big day and makes you feel and look like your most beautiful self! Michelle gave me a blow-out for my rehearsal that would have lasted the entire weekend! I have super straight hair and she has figured out the secret to giving me beautiful beach curls. I loved it. For my wedding, she created this chic, classic chignon with intricate twists that added volume and accentuated my highlights. I’ll post a photo because pictures speak a thousand words- all complimentary toward Michelle! Nicole and Dori were amazing; my bridesmaids can’t stop raving about them! A lot of my bridesmaids said this was their best wedding HMU experience ever! My bridesmaids and mom felt so special and were STUNNING! The Love is in the Hair team are so talented and up-to-date on the latest and best techniques and trends. We had 8 people total for both hair and makeup, and they were able to tailor to each of our preferences, dress color, personality, and hair/skin type. They gave my bridal party a glowy, natural, and cohesive look. Thank you Love is in the Hair for everything! Several people have told me that our wedding seemed like it belongs on a magazine cover. You made us all feel so beautiful on this special day. You are incredibly talented and I am extremely thankful. <3

our glam-squad for the day. Michelle helped us make decisions about hair and makeup prior to the day of, which made the wedding morning go so smoothly. Moreover, Michelle offered insight to the local nuances (eg road construction, tourist congestion), which helped us find the best location for a house to fit our families. Bonus! Could not give a higher recommendation to these wonderful professionals. More than their skill sets, they were just down-to-earth folks. In this day in age, that is the currency my now wife and I value. Thank you for being kind and inclusive.

as incredibly professional and organized. Everything was detailed out in advanced so I never had a worry as our wedding date got closer. The trial went so smooth, she perfected my color and recommended the best products to maintain it. Then the day of...!!! Her team showed up on time, dress professionally and prepared with every item possibly needed. All of the bridesmaids and moms ranted and raved about their MUAH. I was feeling anxious and had butterflies all morning but while sitting in the chair and talking with Michelle it gave me a moment to catch my breath and soak it in. She is one of the most positive and optimistic people ever and you can’t help but be happy and smile around her! I would HIGHLY recommend Love is in the Hair and Michelle to anyone looking for MUAH for a special occasion!

hey did a great job on the make-up as well -- we still looked like ourselves but ready looking glamorous for the pictures!!

up dreams would come true. Email communication with Love Is In The Hair was responsive, informative, honest, organized, and made this type-A bride relax a bit. Michelle is beyond talented - I chose to do a H&MAU trial (with the MOB in tow) and we left raving about the outcome/how much we loved Michelle! The Love Is In The Hair team was such a pleasure to be with on our wedding day, my bridesmaids and VIPs were raving about the team - everyone was obsessed with their H&MAU/we left the day wanting to be 'real life' friends with the girls. Michelle created the most enviable messy, low chignon for my updo, it was perfection! I could go on and on about Love is In The Hair, but I think it's clear we had an amazing experience, I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone considering hiring a top a H&MAU team for their big day, you will not be disappointed.

wedding day. First off, highly recommend that you do a trial first. I initially wasn’t planning to have one but after some convincing I decided to come in for a trial. My trial went well. I liked how I looked and I was so glad to meet Michelle. We got along really well. She had said that now she knows how my hair was she had some ideas for the wedding day. Also she told me to make sure to keep hydrated and keep my skin moisturized. Im so glad I listened to her. On my wedding day, I was expecting to have the same look but it turned out to be more than what I expected. Michelle had said that she was going to do some changes based on my feedback to her and that it would look great. I trusted her completely and I was not mistaken. She knows how my hair was and I got the look that I have envisioned with some added touch. The placement of my veil was perfect. My make up was amazing. I was going for a “glowy” look and light make up, sort of a no make up look. She was able to achieve that. My skin was glowing and she highlighted my features perfectly. She truly made me feel beautiful and I think thats what every bride want to feel on their wedding day. Also Michelle’s team were great. My mom who is always hard to please got off the make chair looking so happy and beautiful. They also did a great job on the rest if the bridal party.

wearing too much makeup, I was worried about not looking like myself on such an important day. I expressed this to Michelle, and she assured me that she specializes in natural looking makeup and that she can tailor the look to each client’s preferences. My expectations for what I would look like on my wedding day were surpassed by a long shot. Everyone was talking about my skin - how I was “glowing” and looked “radiant.” My mom, who has a tendency to be brutally honest when it comes to my appearance, couldn’t stop telling me how beautiful I looked. And my hair! I showed Michelle three photos from Pinterest and she created a work of art. I liked my hair more than the photos. I was originally planning to use extensions, but didn’t need them. Her technique was so elaborate; I couldn’t believe it was my own hair. The style went perfectly with my dress and the venue (a castle). My dad cried when first he saw me, and so did the groom. The best part is that I felt like myself, and yet I also felt like a queen the entire night (and everything stayed in place too). On a day that can sometimes bring a lot of stress, it was so great to have absolutely zero stress when it came to how I looked. I’m so grateful to Love is in the Hair. I can’t wait to see the photos.

professionalism is exceptional. We highly recommend Michelle and the team of stylists for all your wedding beauty needs. Thank you for making us all feel stunning.

had was for my trial with Michelle at her salon in Truckee. Michelle is an absolute sweetheart and has such a fun and spunky personality. My mother in law came with me and Michelle made her feel involved and took her time walking us through her tips and tricks with makeup. I never felt like we were on a time line and felt that she was going to take as much time as needed to make sure she got the look I was going for. I walked out of there feeling so gorgeous and like I made a friend. On the day of our wedding Michelle and Stephanie arrived on time and found the best spot to set up quickly. They were so engaged with all of my bridesmaids and each of them loved their hair and makeup that day. Michelle and Stephanie are so up to date on styles and trends and know just what colors and hair flattered each of the girls. Everyone still looked so prefect by the end of the night as if we had just gotten out of the chair. I highly recommend Love is in the Hair if you want to work with a fun group of talented hair & makeup artist who will make you and your crew look and feel amazing.

to deciding on what look I wanted for the wedding. When I met Michelle for my trial, she immediately put me at ease. Without giving her much guidance, she came up with a look for me that was perfectly natural and somehow just what I wanted. On the big day, all of my bridesmaids felt so beautiful and pampered. The morning of the wedding can be stressful, but Michelle and her team did everything to make sure it was fun and relaxing. They even wrote down make up products for some of my bridesmaids who loved their look so much! They are TRUE professionals: always responded promptly to emails, arrived early on the day of, and ended up finishing early. Love Is In The Hair is simply the best, and I am forever grateful I chose them to be apart of our day!!

the morning of, Michelle was so great at keeping me calm, relaxed, and helped me remember to have fun during all the chaos of a wedding morning. Everyone could not say enough good things about how beautiful I looked on my wedding day along with all my girls! Michelle created the look I envisioned for myself on my day and I couldn't have asked for anything more! Love Is In the Hair is AMAZING!!!

ack, and overall craft in putting together my wedding look - she and her whole team are super experienced and it shows in their work - no Pinterest inspo pic is off-limits :) (2) They are AMAZING ladies you'll want to be friends with: Wedding AM is an emotional time, and Michelle's team helped create a wonderfully relaxed, positive, and fun vibe in the room. My bridesmaids aren't big makeup people, and the team did an incredible job helping them feel gorgeous, comfortable, and still like themselves despite the hairspray and fake eyelashes :) (3) They are super prompt, responsive and professional - from start to finish I felt totally confident working with Michelle and knew I could count on her team to deliver a truly pro experience. Emails were always answered promptly and thoroughly (trust me, as you get to the final months and weeks of planning, you'll be SO grateful for responsive vendors), and they arrived early on the day of to make sure we kept to our timeline. All in all, you can't go wrong working with Michelle and Love Is In the Hair. Book early and don't look back - you won't regret it!

beyond excited about the way that they looked and I have never felt so beautiful in my life! She is amazing!!!

team did such a great job on our wedding day. We had 6 people total for both hair and makeup, and they were able to give us all personalized styles tailored to each individual's preferences, dress color, and personality while also creating a cohesive look for the bridal party. Sophisticated up-dos, big voluminous blow-outs, romantic and soft half up-dos - they did it all. The makeup applications were also fantastic and highlighted everyone's unique beauty without feeling fake or unnatural. We had different ages, hair types, and skin types in our group, and Michelle and her team were able to handle it all. Importantly, everything photographed amazingly AND lasted the entire night (even through the next morning!). Michelle and her team are very knowledgable and have SO much expertise - it definitely shows, and we got so many compliments from our guests! Michelle was also amazing to work with from both the planning perspective and the day-of. Throughout the process she was very detail-oriented, organized, and thorough with all the information we needed to book her team. She was incredibly responsive to my emails and willing to answer any questions I had. On the day of my trial run, she was very meticulous in working with me to create a style that I was happy with, and on the day of the wedding it came out perfectly, even better than I had envisioned. Throughout the styling and makeup application, she explained everything step by step and also took the time to ask for my input on what I liked, which I really appreciated. In the end, I felt like a beautiful bridal version of myself - not like someone else! Finally, she helped us stick to a very organized schedule for getting ready so that we could get to the venue on time. In terms of price, I found that Love Is In The Hair was comparable to the going-rates for other companies in the area, and it was all completely worth it for how beautiful and confident we all felt and how smooth and organized the morning of the wedding was. I fully recommend Michelle and her team to other brides in the area. Thank you Love Is In The Hair!

my wedding day. I have never met anyone who cares as much as Michelle does. She worked so incredibly hard to make sure my mom and I were happy on our trial day. She then not only made me feel even more beautiful on my wedding day, but she made my mom feel gorgeous as well as all my bridesmaids. My friends kept commenting on how talented Michelle and her team were. Michelle goes above and beyond to deliver. No matter what look you're going for Michelle and her team are the best choice! If I didn't live so far away I would want Michelle to do my hair and makeup for all my special events in life. Thank you Michelle, you and your team are amazing and made me and everyone else that day feel beautiful! Look no further and hire Love is in the Hair you will be a gorgeous bride with her by your side!
