Los Willows Private Wedding Estate

Los Willows was incredibly stressful and frustrating, but the actual wedding day was absolutely beautiful. Planning the Wedding Throughout the planning process, I was consistently told conflicting information and having additional charges added when they were never previously mentioned. From the first tour, Lisa stated over and over that they did not like to nickel and dime people and all of the decor was included outside of the list she showed me. I found that not to be true once I started actually planning. Things such a linens on the cocktail tables and certain chairs were an additional upgraded charge which was not made clear from the beginning. The second thing that Los Willows did that was incredibly stressful was switch two of our vendors after we had already booked. Firstly, we had a tasting with the original caterer, who was contracted through Los Willows and we really loved. Months after the tasting, I email the caterer a question and he informs me that he no longer works with Los Willows and would not be working our wedding. I had not received any information from Los Willows about this and was completely blind sided by this information. Secondly, they switched our DJ about 6 months before the wedding. While they did inform us of this switch, they were very difficult about us being able to choose the DJ that we wanted of the new ones that they had. While both the new caterer and DJ were great, it was extremely stressful to have our vendors changed, especially given the lack of communication about the caterer. The main issue that I have with Los Willows is the lack of communication, especially from Lisa, the manager. She would not respond to emails or texts in a timely manner (sometimes weeks to get a response). She would say she was gonna call me and then never would and would not answer the phone. When I was able to get her on the phone, she would have an attitude and talk down to me to make me feel like I was a child and in the wrong. She would constantly change the narrative and say conflicting information. The other planners I worked with (Meghan and Amanda) were really great, but it felt like they didn’t have a lot of control because everything had to go through Lisa. Wedding Day While planning the wedding was stressful and often left me in tears, the actual wedding day was absolutely gorgeous. The team did a really great job at setting up and coordinating everything. The venue itself is stunning and I couldn’t imagine a more beautiful wedding day. The food was excellent, our DJ, Noah, was amazing, and it was really well put together overall. The red roadster for the entrance and the boat ride after the ceremony were so fun and added such a unique aspect to the day. Other Small Things to Note -They use plastic for the bar and champagne wall even though it says glassware in the contract. -They serve the wedding cake on paper plates, not real china. -They have very specific wine and beers that you can choose from and it is pretty expensive to bring your own in. Overall, I would not recommend getting married at Los Willows. Even though the venue is very pretty, the year and a half leading up the wedding was one of the most stressful times of my life and they did not make my wedding planning process fun or enjoyable.
