My wife and I put together an all-star cast of vendors for our wedding, and out of all of them, Luis @ Legacy Sound DJ’s may have been our favorite to work with!
Let me start by e...
xplaining our experience researching DJ’s in the San Diego area. My wife and I contacted a number of highly reviewed DJ’s in the area, and almost all of them had an automated e-mail response. We chatted with a handful, and the majority of them run like businesses with a rolodex of DJ’s where they randomly dish out one of their company DJ’s based on the date and their availability. Their DJ’s work full schedules and you won’t even meet your DJ in person until the day of. For us, that was a big red flag.
Luis was unique right off the bat in several ways:
- He wrote back a personalized email, even commenting on several details of our website. It was clear that he read through it and learned about us before writing back.
- He mentioned how he tries not to overload his schedule so he can put the appropriate time and attention into each wedding he works.
- He noted that he spoke English & Spanish, which was very important to us considering my wife is Mexican and I am Caucasian.
All of these things were VERY important to us! He was immediately impressionable.
After chatting with Luis over the phone, we set up a meeting. We ended up spending over three hours at his place which included a turntable demo, getting to see him in action! It put our minds at ease. He was extremely accommodating and we left feeling very confident that we made an excellent choice in hiring Luis.
In prep for the wedding, we worked through an online portal where we submitted our music preferences. He was great with communicating during the process - he even reached out to us a few times to clarify details that we had submitted. We had a final meeting a couple weeks before the wedding to nail down all details and make sure we were on the same page.
The wedding ran very smoothly. Every detail we had discussed, he nailed it in both the ceremony and reception! I saw people on the dance floor that night that I’d never seen dance before.
Overall, we were THRILLED with Luis! A very friendly, talented guy who cares about the quality of his product. We will definitely recommend Luis’s services to any family or friends in need of a DJ for an event. Thank you for everything Luis - we truly appreciate the work you put in to make our wedding day as perfect as it was!
Where do I start? Our wedding was the best day of my life and DJ Luis played a huge part in making it successful! He was incredibly easy to work with and efficient in his process. ...
As soon as we talked to Luis on the phone, I knew he was the perfect guy for the job. We connected instantly! We would definitely recommend Luis to anyone planning a wedding. The dance floor was packed the entire night and our guests are still talking about how much fun they had. Thanks again Luis!!
Dj Luis was amazing!! We had every single person on the dance floor from ages 4 to 90, and everyone had an amazing time! We have had numerous guests tell us how much fun they had...
at our wedding and how awesome the music and DJ was! DJ Luis was also super helpful and easy to work with in the planning process. I had visited multiple DJ's before I finally met Luis and I instantly knew he was the one to DJ at our wedding. My husband and I couldn't be happier with our choice, and we will certainly recommend him to everyone we know. Thanks again Luis! Everyone had a blast!!
We were looking for a bilingual DJ for our Spanish themed wedding on 8-15-15 and we definitely hit the jackpot with DJ Luis! He was very professional during the planning process, a...
nd the day of our wedding, he was spot on with the music and timing of everything. Even though we wanted mostly Spanish music, I'm so glad he mixed it up so everyone could dance. A group of us stayed until the music stopped, it was so good!
He was really friendly and professional, we are very very happy we went with him, always kept a good mood and made everybody dance.
Luis at Legacy Sound Djs was great to work with. He has an online songlist generator that you can use to compile all your favorite songs, and submit your event timeline and other i...
nformation. This makes everything very simple. The best thing about Luis is his ability to keep the crowd dancing all night. He reads the crowd, and knows exactly what to play. He listened to all my requests, and didn't play anything I asked him not to. He truly made the night so much fun for everyone!
Over this last weekend I was the maid of honor for my best friend’s wedding. She had a 6 month time frame to plan the wedding and waited until about 2-3 months out to find the most...
important part, THE DJ!!! After talking with a few DJ's that were booked we were finally referred to DJ Luis. We were nervous at first and then we met him and all of the nerves were put to rest.......I do not have enough words in my vocabulary to express show extremely happy we were to work with him through all of the planning and especially on the big day! He was very kind, patient and helpful! And the best part, he ROCKED THE DANCE FLOOR!! For the first time at a wedding I never saw the dance floor empty! Thank you, thank you, thank you sooooo much Luis for helping to make April and Josh's wedding everything they dreamed of!

Gracias Luis.
Luis was extremely responsive and helpful from the first email. He worked with us on a plan that met our budget, and, on the wedding day, we could not have asked for a better mix o...
f music. He took requests, kept the energy high, and was a really big part of making our wedding fun. Thanks Luis!
DJ Luis did a great job keeping our party rocking, at a reasonable price. We had a tight budget and he worked well with us to get the best value. He was very attentive and on top o...
f things, keeping us on track and making sure he had every aspect of the night covered. It was also super reassuring that Luis offered to do a Skype call two nights before the wedding to go over all the music, cues, names and announcements.
My husbands family is Mexican and mine is VERY Caucasian, so we really wanted to make sure that our DJ could entertain both crowds in both languages. DJ Luis does a LOT of bilingual weddings and he navigated the cultures and generations with style!
He gave great advice - that everyone wants to me where the bride and groom are, so if we want to dance, we should be dancing! So, regardless of my super high heels, I was dancing ALL NIGHT LONG. His music made that happen, and we are still having people three months after the wedding tell us that our DJ was great. Two thumbs up for Legacy Sounds!
don't think about it just do it! you will not be disappointed and you will have an awesome wedding party! he truly made my wedding party GREAT! everybody was dancing the night away...
and every guest kept complementing me on how awesome the dj was, and he was great at accommodating every single crazy request that i had, he was very responsible and helpful with the planning thru out the weddingness process since my first inquiry call to the wedding date almost on wedding planner status and truly made an effort to ensure that my day went great! you can not go wrong with this dj!

ent reminder emails so I didn't have to think about a thing. He totally "got" what I was going for and was super helpful, professional, and accessible.
At the event, he played all of the music we wanted, and everyone had a great time. Every song that came created an "oh my god I love this song" moment. People were having trouble leaving the dance floor because every time they tried, another awesome song came on that they wanted to dance to.
Thank you Luis you made our reception so much fun!!
Luis was awesome. From our first contact he was great to work with - professional, clear, and made everything easy.

ments I didn't have to worry about. I was relieved that he came through in every way... coordinating with the food, and the wedding party, and rolling with our changes to the schedule. He moved the reception right along.
And everyone had a BLAST dancing.
Definitely recommend him to others in the San Diego area.

My fiance and I were very concerned about the music at our wedding because music is so important to us. So when we found Luis, we knew that we had found our DJ. He was calm and pas...
sionate, and didn't seem like the kind of DJ who would love to hear himself talk at the wedding. Because that's what we DID NOT want. At the reception, we were supposed to have a mariachi trio play during cocktail hour and half of dinner. My dad came out while we were taking photos during cocktail hour and said the trio wouldn't make it because they were stuck at the border. My dad let Luis know and he got the sond the trio was going to play for our grand entrance, not to mention he played all through dinner with music that was just perfect!
Ever since open dancing started, the dance floor was never less than half full and EVERYONE loved the type of music he played, the mixes he put together, and his transitions!!
Luis, thank you so so so so much!!! We will recommend you to anyone and everyone!!!

! Luis even obliged to our request to do an NBA-themed introduction of our wedding party, everyone was so impressed. I definitely recommend Legacy Sound Djs for any party, especially weddings, he knew what to play for all ages, he even did the uplighting and Gobo monogram for our dance floor!
