About this vendor
Le Petit Gâteau is a charming bakery creating delicious and beautiful cakes, pastries, and desserts. The name, meaning “the small cake” in French, is indicative of our recipes being European-inspired with an American twist. Everything we create is meticulously crafted with artistic finishes that are sure to impress at first look and first bite. Whether it's a simple and elegant cake or something truly unique as the two of you are as a couple, we know you'll see and taste the difference of what a pastry artist can create for you. Our goal is to take one part of the wedding planning off your hands so you can focus on other matters. We accomplish this through our years of experience in the wedding industry. Our knowledge, professionalism, and creativity will have everyone talking about your wedding cake.
As a full-service bakery, a variety of other dessert options are available for your special day. We can create dessert tables with macarons and other small desserts. Our breakfast pastries are available to you to have while you're getting ready on your wedding day or for a brunch you're hosting for out-of-town guests. Our croissants are frequently described as the best croissants this side of the Atlantic.
Le Petit Gâteau is a from-scratch kitchen. Our pastry chefs use unbleached flour, cane sugar, European-style butter, cage-free eggs, organic vanilla, Belgian chocolate, and in-season fruit. There are no bags of cake mix or fillings in this kitchen. In addition to being educated and trained in the pastry arts, Le Petit Gâteau's owner and head pastry chef is also a trained visual artist who brings his talents to every cake and dessert he creates.

The cake from Le Petit Gateau was far superior to any other bakery we tried for our wedding. We tried so many highly recommended bakeries but none of them impressed us until we sto...
pped by Le Petit Gateau. We went with the chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and the lemon raspberry cake with raspberry filling, but every single flavor we tried was delicious! We would highly recommend them! They will not only create a beautiful cake, but one that people actually want to eat!!!
Chris was fantastic to work with! The cake was excellent, chocolate with cream cheese filling. The service outstanding. His croissants with chicken salad and the best tomato eve...
r were enjoyed every time we stopped by to work on the cake order.
Our wedding cake was designed just as we requested. We went small for presentation and had side cakes with different flavors. It looked very nice with the added florals (which th...
e bakery will arrange on the cake). As for taste, none of our guests commented on the cake (and some went on about our other dining options). We might have liked the samples a bit more than the final product.
For the tasting, you sample pre-set flavors/fillings but after putting down your deposit, you can try other flavor combos of your choosing.
Leading up to the wedding, Chris seemed too preoccupied with his new shop to give customers the time they deserved. There was typically a long delay (more than a couple days) to get a reply to emails or receive quotes. At our first tasting, there wasn't any formal pricing sheets given so I had to write it all by hand as we were talking. The month before the wedding when we received our first quote, it was different that what was said at the tasting and not what we were budgeting for the cake. Chris did honor the initial quote stating he misspoke at the tasting.
Don't look anywhere else for your cake - Chris is amazing and our wedding cake was phenomenal. We had countless guests tell us that it was the best wedding cake they ever had, and ...
we definitely agree! Chris is so responsive and easy to work with - I would highly recommend Chris and Le Petit Gateau for your baking needs!
We chose Le Petit Gateau for our wedding this past September and it was the best decision we made. Chris, the head baker, was so amazing to work with every step of the way. He prov...
ided great recommendations and helped us curate the best flavors for our wedding desserts. Our guests raved on how delicious the cake was and said his macaroons were the best they had ever had. Chris went above and beyond to make us feel special. He invited us to his kitchen for tastings and even created special macaroons for the bride and groom.
The day after our wedding we hosted a brunch at our home and Chris also made us the BEST chocolate chip cookies we have ever had. Chris impressed us so much, that his desserts are a staple at any of our celebrations! If you are looking for the best desserts in town, look no further than La Petit Gateau!!!!
Thank you Chris for everything you did for us!!

! We tasted wedding cakes from many bakeries around town before choosing, but none quite hit all of the marks until we tried Chris's cakes! My husband and I love desserts, so our cake was a very important feature of our wedding :) Chris's cakes are moist, his flavors are rich, his fillings are tasty and he is so talented in not only baking, but also designing cakes! We loved working with Chris and were so happy with our decision in choosing him to make our wedding cake dreams come true! We will for sure be reaching out to him for future baked good needs!
I cannot recommend Chris highly enough. Chris went above and beyond to make sure that we were taken care of both leading up to and on our special day. Planning a wedding from out o...
f town with an unpredictable schedule can be difficult, but Chris was so flexible with his scheduling to meet our needs. He was truly a joy to work with. We had so many compliments about how beautiful our cake looked and how amazing it tasted. We also opted to get pastries from Chris for our bridal party in the morning while we were getting ready and I would highly recommend you do the same. It was a perfect way to start and end the day.
Chef Chris at Le Petit Gâteau truly helped make the wedding cake of our dreams -- even amid a pandemic! From the start, he made the whole process easy, from the tasting to our actu...
al wedding day. We had a three layer cake, the perfect amount for our 50-person wedding plus the top-layer to save for our anniversary. Chris recommended making the bottom layer a vanilla cake, which was such a brilliant choice, as my husband and I definitely were all about that cake smash! So, there were ultimately no issues with any cake staining the white dress.
For the top two layers, we went with red velvet with a cream cheese filling, which was the fan favorite! While not the most traditional wedding cake flavor, Chris encouraged us to go with our heart (and tastebuds), and we are so glad we did! It was absolutely delicious, as was the vanilla layer with a mango-papaya filling. As a guest, I have definitely had my fair share of mediocre wedding cake that is too dry, not super tasty, or poorly decorated, but Chef Chris's was the exact opposite. It was so moist, flavorful, and beautifully decorated. At the end of the evening, even our photographer pulled us aside and asked who made our cake because she said it was truly one of the best she'd had -- and I can only imagine how much wedding cake she's tried in her lifetime!
Additionally, communication from Chris was great, with him dropping the cake off at the venue early with clear directions on how to store it until it would be displayed at the reception and tips on how best to store our top layer so we can enjoy it on our first anniversary. Without a doubt, my husband and I recommend Le Petit Gâteau and Chef Chris for any and all wedding cake needs.
Chris delivered beyond my expectations! He made multiple cakes for my wedding and every single one was perfect. We continue to get compliments on our cakes years after our wedding!...
The whole process was seamless. His level of professionalism is unmatched and we will continue to hire him for every event.
