I planned my wedding while living in California and Jordan was very flexible with meeting times, always responded to me quickly, and went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly during the planning process and on the day of the wedding.

elicious, though getting answers on things like dessert options was frustrating) and the location (the penthouse is stunning). Communication was a challenge start to finish. There was a good amount of staff turnover, which I understand happens. However, the leadership never seemed to do anything to help with the transition. Our first coordinator literally messaged us to schedule a meeting, then later that same day sent a message saying it was her last day. Every time there was a staffing change, it felt like starting over. Across the board, follow-up was poor. I'd be told I'd get an answer on something by a certain date, the date would come, I'd follow-up, they'd make an excuse, and eventually I might get an answer. For example, we needed to add a mic for our ceremony musicians (after realizing that despite what I'd previously been told, Lago didn't have enough mics for the ceremony & cocktail hour). When I confirmed the price for a mic included a speaker, the coord. said no, a speaker was double, she thought they had their own speaker and just needed a mic. In what case does someone have a mic and not a speaker? Another ex: we wanted to do a limoncello toast instead of champagne. I asked for the price several times. Eventually, the coord. said she didn't add the price because she thought we were bringing our own, even though we had talked about using the Lago limoncello previously. Another time, our coord. and the director showed up over 30 minutes late to a linens meeting that I had taken off work to get to. Neither ever acknowledged being late or apologized. I tried to be patient, thinking details would come together. At our walkthrough, I thought they were. But then so many things weren't done as planned the wedding day, despite the walkthrough. Exs: We had a champagne wall. We talked multiple times about how it was for after the ceremony to kick off cocktail hour. Instead, Lago had a staff member handing out the champagne before the ceremony. Literally minutes before I was to walk down the aisle, our coord. asked if I had the sand for the our sand ceremony. I told her it was in the items I packed and had gone over with her the day before. She insisted it wasn't. I recognized that maybe it had fallen out and said we'd just have the ceremony without. Then, she sent a staff member down to look in our boxes and sure enough, it was where I said it should be. The salad served at our wedding was not the one we chose. We had printed menus, so it didn't match. No one ever mentioned the salad change to us. The coord. had the post-wedding brunch at the wrong time. It was supposed to be 11-1. She had signs saying 10-12 and had everything ready at 10. When I told her it was 11, she tried to argue with me and said she didn't know if we could have the space until 1. I sent her screenshots the time confirmation, and then she acted like it was no big deal and we could "extend" until 1, the original planned time. The food had been sitting out for an hour (except for some they forgot to put out until the very end). They didn't even have any regular milk or cream for coffee, just flavored, and it took over 30 minutes to get some when we asked. We had hoped for a positive experience with many things being included, but instead it was a headache with no accountability.

who were also very responsive through the whole process. From getting ready with bridesmaids in the bridal suite room and being taken care of all day to the flexibility with rain plans throughout the afternoon to an amazing night, we loved our experience at Lago. Cannot recommend enough.

Our reception cocktail hour was on the EY penthouse rooftop, stunning views, great apps and they even had buckets of drinks on the high-tops for easy reaching, in addition to the bar! Reception in the EY lobby. Everything looked amazing and elegant! Our guests thoroughly enjoyed their evening and we've received many compliments on what a treat it was to be in that incredible space. The food, delicious (short rib/salmon), the drinks, cold & plentiful and the serving staff, outstanding! Special shout out to the smiling, 'anything you need' bartenders! 5 stars, no doubt!

g Cleveland day. Our day would not have been possible without the help of Diana DeJesus, event coordinator. From the start, Diana was extremely helpful in answering all of my questions and making sure that everything would be perfect for our big day. She took care of everything day-of like décor set up and was extremely attentive to me, my husband, our family, and our guests. The rest of the staff at Lago Custom Events were also extremely professional and pleasant to work with. They were efficient with set up of the venue, food and drink service, cleanliness. All of the rented décor I had was properly set up and taken down back into all of their boxes so I could return everything the next day with ease. The food was incredible! Short rib and herb crusted cod entrée with mashed potatoes and asparagus (vegetarian options also)! My husband and I have received an overwhelming amount of compliments on how perfect the venue was, how professional the staff was, and how delicious the food was. We could not have been happier with our choice to have our wedding at Lago Custom Events.

From creating small signage for everything I forgot, to adding a bar by the elevators so no one would wait for a drink, to keeping things running smoothly, and her wonderful energy, she was wonderful. I would recommend her and Lago to ANYONE!!! Also, Chef Fabio had incredible food and helped us design the perfect menu to incorporate special foods we wanted to highlight. If you aren’t sure, this is your sign to hire Lago and HIRE DIANA!!!!! The BEST!

All we had to do was show pictures and explain the kind of vibe we were going for and Corina and the Lago team brought it to life. They were also extremely accommodating day of when the weather tried to force us to use our back up plans, but thankfully, Corina let us make the final decision and trusted our judgement. We continue to have guests tell us our beautiful the venue was and how amazing the food was. It was the best day and we have Lago to thank for that!

The day of the wedding, she always had a smile on her face while handling so many logistics and making the venue look beautiful with decor. On top of it all, one of the team members, Corina, even played Simon Says to keep the kids walking down the aisle entertained which meant a lot to my family. We could not recommend the Lago team enough, and had the most amazing time celebrating our wedding at their event space. The venue was GORGEOUS!

end 2. Flexibility is HUGE - ended up switching our reception space week of the wedding due to weather 3. Planning made easy - they take care of catering (Lago food aka fantastic) and all of the linen rental etc. which made our lives SO much easier. Only other vendors we have to select were basically photographer, florist, DJ. 4. Diana is THE REAL DEAL. So professional, organized, available, and dedicated to making your special day run smoothly. Always answered questions promptly. Was so cooperative and helpful during the process of making changes due to weather the week of the wedding. She is down to do whatever it takes to make the day happen - day of I think I saw her running cake to the guest tables, she is willing to do whatever is needed. Did not even need a wedding planner because we had her in our corner. 10/10 recommend Lago!!!

Minimal direction and poor communication causing major levels of stress leading up to the wedding. I was told we would have the venue to ourselves the entire day. The Wednesday before my wedding we were told there was a wedding happening that early afternoon and we had to rearrange our whole schedule. Come to find out, it was a close friend of the owner. They never communicated they reserved us a room at aloft and put very important belongings in this vacant room that were then lost. Gorgeous venue, horribly planning and communication.

The week before the wedding we reached out by email and received an email back he would be unavailable for the next week, no explanation. We were told by his staff he would be present at our walkthrough and he wasn’t, in fact he wasn’t even at our wedding. We paid extra for the penthouse and couldn’t have the rehearsal in the space due to a “ last minute party.” We paid for valet parking and guests were still being charged. We were overcharged and are still waiting on a refund check, almost two weeks after we were told Mike would be mailing it. I would have my wedding with Lago again but not have Mike have any part in it,

This venue has the most amazing views of Lake Erie and we received so many compliments from our guests on how beautiful everything was. The food was also great and we were very impressed with the service and bartenders! We had excellent experiences working with Mike from Lago and Amanda from Aloft. Both were extremely helpful, responsive, and patient with my many many emails. We also greatly appreciated Lago working with us to reschedule our original 2020 wedding date to 2021 because of COVID and that they honored our original minimum spend amounts from when we originally booked the venue back in December 2018, despite their prices increasing since then. We also appreciated that Mike and his team took care of the set up and tear down of everything, so we were not stressed on the day of. We had a lot of out of town guests who really appreciated that the ceremony/reception were all at one spot downtown with the hotel right attached. It truly was such a magical and perfect day that we will cherish and remember forever. We cannot thank Mike and Lago enough!

nly was the coordinator very demeaning throughout the experience but he was very offensive to my vendors who are also people of color with the use of racial microaggressions and being outright rude. When I brought my concerns to leadership (including ownership), my experiences and feedback was very much dismissed, there was no accountability (only excuses), and I was made out to be a liar. While the venue was beautiful and the food was great, I wish I would have had my wedding somewhere else. Cultural competency is a part of professionalism in a service industry and it's lacking on all levels with Lago.

The Penthouse of the E&Y building was amazing for our ceremony and we were blessed with a beautiful fall day (10/31/20) that kept guests up there taking their own pictures after the service. The Riviera ballroom ended up being a perfect size for our approximately 125 guests and we were able to meet the states social distancing requirements. Guests raved about the food and the service staff was very professional. Overall we had a great experience thanks to Aubrey and Lago Custom Events.

It was incredibly beautiful watching the sun set as we celebrated throughout the night. Especially during Covid it was so nice to be able to space out and have an open air reception. The event flowed flawlessly and all of our guests had the best time despite the unusual circumstances. The sunset and other yard games give people something to do besides dance. We had an absolutely stunning pictures from all of the events all weekend. Aubrey in particular was so helpful in planning and executing on our wedding in such little time. Lago really thinks of every detail, similar to a full-scale wedding planner! Related to Covid… Their staff was in masks, helped us maintain social distancing, provided sanitation, and put up signs. They took the virus very seriously and acted very professionally which made my guests feel at ease knowing that the staff was doing everything possible to keep them safe. I feel like them taking it so seriously allow the rest of us to have fun. Major pro tip… Get the pasta with your dinner. Our food was so good. Even as a nervous bride I ate the entire thing! I mean what bride is so comfortable and enjoys the food so much that they eat the entire meal and a mermaid gown? That stuff was good. Aubrey and the Lago team take so much care and making sure your event is on par with your vision. They are fast to respond and are flexible. Compared to the original wedding I had planned I am so happy with the wedding that I had at Lago custom events. Having the caterer and the event space all be in one was so easy. I can’t even remember the amount of times I mentioned that I needed to do some thing and the Lago team said they were already taking care of it. Beautiful space. Nice people. I would 100% do it again and I’m so thankful that Covid brought me to the beautiful wedding weekend we had.

minimum spend without the guarantee of being able to have full guest count under Covid restrictions, and repeatedly stressed that to both my wedding planner and the event coordinator at Lago. The pricing was unrealistic as with our small and covid approved guest count we couldn't reach the minimum spend without adding thousands of dollars of add-ons we normally would not have wanted or needed, but was recommended by event coordinator. These thousands of dollars in addons was the only way we could secure the venue for our wedding and ended up bringing our final pricing to more than 43K. The venue is absolutely beautiful and i am still upset we were not able to book it but I was deeply disappointed upon learning that Lago has more than doubled their pricing in the year of Covid to the point where it was impossible for us to consciously book a small wedding here. I understand having to raise prices but i don't understand the need to more than double pricing in the middle of a global pandemic.

We are so happy with how everything turned out, we wanted to highlight a few things: The Venue - Rather than being trapped in the same room the entire night, Lago features a variety of different spaces to utilize for your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception to switch up the scenery while also keeping everything localized and an easy walk for guests. While we had chosen the EY penthouse for our cocktail hour, high winds forced it to be relocated to the EY lobby, which was still an incredibly beautiful backup. The outdoor tent was sturdy and kept everyone warm on a 60 degree evening in October. The bistro lights and uplighting were a great addition. The Food - Unreal. We may be biased, but we think its the best food we've ever had at a wedding. We chose the short rib (not fatty at all), lemon chicken and stuffed pepper and had so many guests rave about their meal. The Service - We couldn't be happier. Mike and the Lago team are pro's when it comes to wedding planning and helped us cover every detail, no matter how big or small. They understand and appreciate your budget and help optimize your money rather than try and sell you on the pricey stuff. On the wedding day, they take care of the staging which is a huge relief and allows you and your family to focus on the big day. To us, our wedding day was perfect, and we felt so stress free and in great hands. We would recommend Lago Custom Events to anyone, and at a minimum, just go check them out for a tour. nervous about this undertaking (planning a wedding on our own), and from the moment we met Mike, our concerns were almost completely diminished and replaced with only excitement. He made everything so easy and even fun (for us, probably not for him)! I, in particular, had a very specific/clear vision of how I wanted this event to go, and I have to say it was 100% exactly what I had envisioned and so, so much more. The venue is stunning! I'd never seen anything like the Penthouse, and it was absolutely perfect! The food, and the bars were something to be remembered and Mike and his team were the utmost professionals! It's been almost 2 weeks since our wedding, and our guests are still talking about how amazing everything was, and that is completely thanks to Mike! I would highly recommend Lago Custom Events, not only for a wedding, but for any event that you want to be remembered for a very long time!

It was so nice to be able to take our decor there a couple days in advance and not have to worry about setting it up.
