Really disappointed with how my wedding cake turned out. My husband and I had high hopes in the beginning and were really happy when we had our taste test. I wanted an ombre cake a...
nd the colors were what the entire wedding was based off of (flowers, bridesmaids dresses, Photo Booth border, etc) I wanted to make sure the colors would match up so we dropped off color swatches from the dresses after they got hemmed.
The day of, while we were getting pictures before the ceremony, my coordinator brought me to see the cake and I was horrified. Instead of ombre, each tier was a different solid color. Not at all what we had talked about! I had my maid of honor call the bakery and they tried to argue that I had asked for 3 different colors... I reminded them of the 20+ emails we had exchanged in which there was a picture of the cake I wanted and then made sure to add that they had breached the contract which stated an "ombre" cake. At first they said they could try to send someone to fix it but when I told them I had spoken to the director of my venue (they are a preferred vendor) they said they were on their way. They did manage to fix it while the ceremony took place but it still was not at all right.
On top of this, the guest count dropped from 70 to 65 about 2 weeks before the wedding. We were told we could NOT have 3 tiers anymore. We asked if there was any way to still have a third tier. We liked the look better, we wanted to make sure we still had cake for ourselves, and...who tells a bride they CAN'T have something?? We were then told we would have to pay them extra and we immediately said we wanted to do that. Didn't get any response for almost 4 days putting us at one week before the big day. Very nerve wracking.
Yes, it tasted very good. But it still makes me upset when I talk about it and see pictures. It is just a cake in the end, but the way they handled it was not very professional and I wish I had gone with a different bakery.
We're still riding the love train with all the great compliments about the 4 fabulous cakes & assorted cookies we ordered from the incomparable La Creme Bakery in Woodland Hills f...
or our wedding. We were married on November 5th at The 1909 in Topanga Canyon.
We researched everyone out there & mediocrity wasn't an option. We knew we wanted cakes that tasted like cakes & not the overwhelming taste of sugar. We knew we wanted a family owned, small bakery that had the reputation of excellence.
We liked everything we read in their numerous reviews & contacted La Creme with details of our upcoming wedding.
We set up a tasting & Lisa was just wonderful to work with. Working within a Fall thanksgiving theme, we decided on several flavors we wanted to try. Instead of having a traditional wedding cake, we decided to offer our guests an assortment of 9 inch round cakes.
When my soon-to-be-husband & chocolate aficionado, took his first bite of their chocolate ganache cake, he proclaimed it was, hands down, the best chocolate cake he had ever tasted !
We also chose the Pumpkin and the Red Velvet both with cream cheese icing along with a white cake with Raspberry
filling. 4 cakes all uniquely different but equally superb ! Their large assortment of delicious, beautiful cookies would round out our dessert table.
Our cakes & cookies were delivered to the venue on the wedding day & when we walked into the reception & saw them, we were delighted ! They were just gorgeous.
The many compliments we received was affirmation that they were the best cakes our guests ever had !
And there was almost nothing left which was the best compliment of all !
We didn’t have any of the chocolate ganache left but we’ve made a promise to return to La Creme each year on our anniversary for more.
If you're reading this review, you're probably very busy preparing for your wedding. The best advice I can give you is to stop looking at any other bakery - choose La Creme Bakery in Woodland Hills.
It will be the very best decision you will make!

based on our request.
We loved the flavor of white cake with fudge filling and ganache on the outside, but it wasn't possible with the design we wanted, and the ganache was hard to cut, so we decided on white chocolate buttercream on the outside.
They did a great job matching the design color to our ribbon. We loved our cake so much! It took my breath away when I saw it.

We are very happy with our wedding cake from La Creme Bakery. Our tasting went smoothly and everything we tried was very good so it was hard to choose! We also had an extra detail ...
added onto our cake to make it special and they did a great job executing it. We also love that instead of saving and freezing the top tier to eat on our anniversary, La Creme keeps our order on file and we can come back to have some freshly-made wedding cake! Much better than year-old frozen cake.
Our wedding reception included cake to our wedding package. After trying 4 different cake bakeries, my now husband and I decided to go with La Creme. We made an appointment for our...
cake tasting, and the staff are very friendly. The cakes that we tasted are great, but the Chocolate marble filled with cookies and creme just stood out. We had a 4 layered cake, our wedding reception paid for the cake and we only paid $70 for the cherry blossom flowers that they had to put on the cake.
I was so happy when I saw the cake on my wedding day. It is simple yet elegant and beautiful, just what I imagined. I loved the way it looked but most of all the taste was amazing. Everyone loved the cake.
If you're looking for a wedding cake, go with La Creme! They're the best!
Loved my wedding cake. Flavors were amazing, decorations were beautiful. Nothing but good comments received about the cake.

t now how to mix my cakes/fillings so I asked them to just give us the diff breads that go with the best fillings. We went with the marble w/ cookies & cream filling which was AMAZ BALLS!!! Its so delicious & different! its a good compromise for your chocolate & non chocolate lovers. i loved them b/c they worked with me to get the best for our wedding, they made recommendations that were cost efficient for us when they probably would have sold on spending more $$. And when I went go go drop off our cake ribbon they were sweet enough to give me a small cake so that my family could sample. BEST SERVICE!!! I got a 4 tier cake for with add. sheet to feed 250 for about $1k.

They were excited for us and their flavors were absolutely delicious. We had a photo of what we wanted and they gave us exactly that. They have actually now put our cake on the front page of their website! Very exciting. We loved how it looked and everyone loved how it tasted! A hit! We will go back for every occasion we have yet to celebrate! Thank you La Creme.

ll the meeting we had about what style we wanted and how we wanted it decorated. She worked with us to build a truly beautiful, custom cake for our wedding. When we told Berta we needed out cake moved in the middle of the reception and were planning on doing it ourselves, she said they would come back specifically to move the cake for us. They truly went above and beyond what we were expecting from a bakery.
In addition to the red velvet cake, we had individual cheesecake rounds with fruit on top for all the guests. We got so many compliments on this dessert. It was absolutely delicious and the perfect end to the perfect night!
