Returning one year later to confirm that Kymm is a legend! From the tasting, to responsiveness, execution of our vision, delivery on the day-of, I can't express how perfectly our enormous cake came out. As we enjoy the topper for our first anniversary (highly recommend), we're amazed again by how absolutely beautiful and delicious each layer was. Cheers to keeping it local!

Kymm and her daughter are such a good team and WONDERFUL bakers! Kymm is great with communication and is super flexible in helping you to find your perfect wedding cake. We paid a $75 deposit and were able to try a bunch of different flavor combinations before choosing. Our deposit then went toward the actual cake. Her prices are insanely reasonable, and you would willingly pay more once you have tried them.
I wanted a summery cake for July, and we ended up going with a three tier with two flavors. The bottom biggest tier was coconut cake with butter pecan buttercream, and the other two tiers were strawberry lemon cake with blueberry buttercream! My mom cannot stop talking about the coconut cake haha. Kymm also does a bunch of tasty looking cupcakes so I will be going to her for any big events that I need desserts for!
I cannot recommend Kymm's Kakes enough! Thank you again, big hugs:).

- Kymmberly GibbonsOwnerWelcome to Kymm’s Kakes, where family tradition meets modern baking magic! My journey began with simple cupcakes and a big dream, and over the years, my passion for creating stunning and delicious cakes has grown into a family affair. With my mother, daughter, and now my granddaughter joining me in the kitchen, we bring generations of love and creativity to every cake we craft. From discovering my great-grandmother’s cherished recipes to adding our own modern twists, we pride ourselves on offering “simple, classic baking with a contemporary edge.” At Kymm’s Kakes, we believe every celebration deserves a sweet centerpiece that’s as unique as the story it represents. Whether it’s an elegant wedding cake or a whimsical treat, my family and I are dedicated to making your dream dessert come true. Let us add a touch of sweetness to your special day. We can’t wait to bake something beautiful for you!
- Miranda GibbonsCake Creator extraordinaireMiranda’s journey began on a whim. We were short-staffed and asked her to help with a delivery. Just two hours later, she had decorated a stunning three-tier purple rosette wedding cake, leaving us in awe. With no prior experience, she quickly became a legend in her own right. Today, Miranda is not only known for her breathtaking cake creations but also as the backbone of our operation. From decorating to delivery, she is one of our strongest assets. She holds the record for being the fastest learner, showcasing incredible speed and steady hands. As she prepares to inherit the business, we eagerly anticipate the future of our family venture
- Robbie DugganBaker and Floral arrangementAs the matriarch of our family, she proudly holds the title of lead baker and is in charge of floral arrangements and most of our secret family recipes. She often jokes about engraving all her recipes on her tombstone, as we still haven’t cracked the secret to her chocolate frosting. Continuing our family tradition, she teaches us the art and science of baking every day. Although she talks about retiring daily, we keep her busy with floral arrangements for our cakes. The room filled with flowers keeps expanding, and we can’t imagine letting her retire anytime soon. Our family dynamic is truly one of a kind, and we remain Michael’s number one customer!

The cake looked stunning and fit our wedding perfectly, but it also tasted just as amazing as it looked—which is not always easy to find with a wedding cake. We highly recommend her for any special event!

Words truly can't express how breathtaking the cake Kymm designed for this wedding was. The couple had an extraordinary sense of style, and the groom even wore a suit that beautifully echoed the cake’s design! It’s not often you see a cake that mirrors the groom's attire, but Kymm expertly brought this unique vision to life. She mentioned that most of her requests tend to focus on matching the bride's dress, making this project all the more special. Every detail of the cake was meticulously crafted, from the simple off-center tiers that gave it an elegant yet modern flair to the carefully selected dried flowers that adorned it. The color palette was harmonious, and each pressed flower was placed with precision, creating a stunning visual that captivated everyone. I found myself taking photo after photo, unable to resist capturing its beauty from every angle!
Kymm’s talent and creativity truly shine through in her work. The cake was not only a feast for the eyes but also a testament to her dedication and artistry. I can’t wait to see more of her creations in the future! It was an absolute delight to work with Kymms Kakes for the first time, and I genuinely hope our paths cross again soon. Highly recommended for anyone looking to add a touch of magic to their special day!

s ! (I believe it was tax season) lol lol You were the absolute best couple to work with! When you have such amazing people to work with, makes your job just a little easier! If I had to list a favorite moment for wedding season 2022 was the fact that everyone was just in love with all the different flavors and had even got reviews from your guests at your celebration!! (Some of the reviews were mind blowing fabulous, I think some should be doing the review process for a living! ) but this is what I just laugh now but at the time was horrified! Only to realize when getting home hours after from delivering your cake and cupcakes to find the stickers that were to go onto the boxes to let everyone know what flavor combinations I came up with (you giving me the ideas and getting to choose from what I thought you’d like ) I was thinking.. OHH NOOO! I even looked at the clock thinking if I drove back I might catch you … BUT what could have been a complete nightmare became my unforgettable favorite memory! No one had a clue what they were tasting! I forgot the tags but had no idea it would come back as such a good thing! I can’t thank you enough for all the kind words that you share with me and all your guests and family for the reviews as well
Your never a thought away with great memories to last a lifetime !
Lots of love and hugs to all,
Stay safe in all your travels …

Kymm made our cake for our wedding and it was DELICIOUS and BEAUTIFUL!! It came out exactly how I wanted, spiral buttercream design with floral at the bottom. 10/10 recommend using...

Great choice for wedding cakes or cupcakes at weddings in Tahoe!
We used Kymm's Kakes for our wedding in South Lake Tahoe. Kymm provided us with a free tasting at her home in Dayt...
on. We loved all her flavors so much we ended up having two cakes, and 6 kinds of cupcakes. She delivered everything to our venue on time, in perfect condition.
While we each wanted something very different, a groom's cake in the shape of a football helmet and a more traditional, single layer wedding cake decorated with succulents and flowers, Kymm had no issue with either. Both of them turned out beautifully and were delicious! Our guests also loved all the different cupcakes.
Flavors included:
Lemon cupcakes - half with blueberry-lemon frosting, half with pineapple frosting
Vanilla cupcakes - half with chocolate frosting, half with blueberry-lemon frosting
Chocolate cupcakes - half with raspberry frosting, half with chocolate-coffee frosting
She had even more flavors! Lots of fun ones like strawberry kiwi and salted caramel, as well as classic ones like chocolate and vanilla.
