About this vendor
Knotted Consulting & Events is an independent wedding consultation company operating out of Montrose, CO. Owner Jes Barkman is a passionate coordinator whose love for her craft shines through in every celebration she organizes. Versatile, personable, and creative, she crafts bespoke occasions that reflect the unique romantic bond of every couple she works with.
Having lived all over Colorado, Jes has a rich appreciation for the rich natural beauty that the Rocky Mountain State has to offer. She is a lifelong lover of all things planning-related and adores being able to take care of every detail to bring wedding visions to life. At Knotted Consulting & Events, she offers a selection of invaluable consultation options to choose from to orchestrate celebration visions of all shapes and sizes.
Knotted Consulting & Events is available to provide consultation based V.S. in person planning for couples at any point in the planning process, whether you're just getting started or a week out from the big day. From intimate gatherings to larger affairs, Jes will tailor her consulting skills to align with your unique needs, desires, and budget. The biggest difference in consultations vs full planning is being there, in person / boots on the ground, for your actual wedding and rehearsal. Think of Jes as your consultant as a sort of wedding football coach - she gives you the plays, the tools you need and the practice (and way more wedding specific stuff but you get the idea) and you go out there and actually throw the ball OR have your coordinator qb take you into the end zone.

Jes is so amazing! She is easy to work with, so knowledgeable about the venues, the vendors and how to make your wedding dream a reality! I’m a mother of the bride and was worried ...
about all of the details. Jes has expert planning skills and guided us through the entire process with ease! Do you know the best part? I actually got to relax and enjoy my daughter’s wedding!
I'm another vendor in the industry that has worked with Jes. She's organized, personable and just all around great to work with! She has a solid background with years of experience...
in the industry. What she offers is really unique and she's got all the great tips & tricks you'll need for your big day!
WE LOVE AND ARE SO GRATEFUL FOR JES! Words cannot describe how wonderful of a service Jes Tilton, owner of Knotted Proposals & Events, provided my now-husband and I. From beginning...
(months out from the big day) to end, and beyond, Jes was organized, had an incredible eye for detail, delivered with brevity and professionalism, and GOT THE JOB DONE.
The day of our wedding was a blessing; we were able to be fully present, focused on each other and our people and not worry a smidge about the plans, the timeline, vendors, jobs to be done, etc. (This is saying a lot, as the weekend of our wedding presented natural-disaster-level events that closed highways, soaked our entire valley, and canceled others’ vendors). The entire event went off without a hitch (to our knowledge, as Jes came in clutch and smoothed-over anything that could’ve been a glitch without us needing to know).
Although there are many more, a few stand-out characteristics that made our experience so lovely are:
-Jes’ professionalism & organization
-Her relationships with and ability to work with all vendors
-Her ability to manage the big picture while also putting time into the smallest details
-Her communication style with my husband and I; patient, kind, to the point, and honest
-Jes’ attention to deadlines & timelines
Thank you, Jes, for the blessing you were and are as our wedding planner -- we will continue to recommend you to all.

ut her work and you can tell she is 110% invested in making your special day successful. She took all of the stress off of us and knew when to tell us to slow down and “enjoy” each moment. Thanks to Jes, we were able to enjoy each moment and could not be more thankful for her authentic style, personal touch and trusted experience.
Jes embodies everything that is GOOD about the wedding industry. She is caring, organized, so so present and open, and detail oriented (in the best way possible). She loves LOVE an...
d wants your wedding to be magical and perfect- but she'll also keep your feet on the ground too and tell it like it is. We worked with Jes from start to finish and she helped us to create a wedding that was incredibly unique and special (and kept us sane throughout the journey). Honestly, i didn't think i "needed" a wedding planner and I can tell you that Jes was the best investment we've ever made. If you're on the fence, just do it!
Jes was an absolute rockstar throughout the whole planning process. She made our dream come to life and we were so pleased with how everything turned out. All of my family and frie...
nds raved on and on about how fantastic our planner was and how it was the best wedding they have ever been to. It would truly be a mistake to go with any other planner for your wedding or event. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
I echo all the reviews on this board by simply stating is indeed the best! She made my wife and I so happy on our special day and went above and beyond. 5 Stars all the Way!
If you are on the fence about hiring a wedding planner, I am here to say DO IT! Specifically though, you might want to go with Jess (Knotted Events). Being able to work with Jess ...
is hands down the smartest decision my husband and I made when planning our wedding. Being in a different state than our venue, we had no where to start when selecting vendors. Luckily, Jess has the best contacts and really creative ideas to make our wedding unique. Everything about our wedding was exactly what we wanted and it was all thanks to Jess! <3
If you're looking for a sign to hire Jes, this is it. It is apparent that this is more than a job for her, it is a passion. I think she was just as excited as we were to get marrie...
d! She really made our dream of a wedding become a reality. Not only did she make planning and wedding day stress free for my husband and I, but also for all of our guests.
While planning our wedding, she was responsive and supportive. She listened, made suggestions, and even made decisions for us (since we are both EXTREMELY indecisive and we needed her to LOL). Being from Wisconsin, we didn't know much about vendors in Colorado but that didn't matter. Jes has great connections with other vendors that made planning a breeze and if she doesn’t have a connection, she will make one!
On wedding day, she would check in with us to make sure we were doing ok and would even bring us drinks! Everything ran so smoothly and, as the bride and groom, we didn't have to worry about a thing except getting married. She is very professional, but yet personable and goes above and beyond to do what is needed to make the day perfect.
It has been a month since wedding day and she is still part of conversations in our household and between family members; not only because she was able to save us a ton of money (which made my husband happy) but also because she made our wedding day the best day of our lives. We truly could not have done it without her.
Jes is the best! She not only made planning a Colorado wedding from Tennessee fun and easy, she brought my vision of a romantic mountain bohemian wedding to life, down to every det...
ail. She found the most talented and affordable vendors in to work with and made our dream happen while staying in our budget! Our wedding day went flawlessly! The timing of the day was perfect, my husband and I felt like we were able sit and soak in every moment together. We highly, highly recommend her!
Jes was excellent in helping us carry out a Covid delayed/changed wedding for my daughter. We had to replan after Covid travel restrictions and it all came off great. She handled ...
ever challenge quite well. What a professional.
Jes (Knotted Proposals & Events) is hands down the best wedding planner I could have ever asked for. She helped me envision my real dream of our wedding (twice... covid happened! ...
And she will be by me through 2 celebrations), she listens deeply to what you want and then makes it happen, and she is dedicated and committed to making your day the best day ever. She is both extremely professional and so personable. From our first conversation to a week after our wedding, all I can say is - hire her! Seriously, I cannot put words to how incredible Jes has been through the last 14 months. She is like a fairy-godmother and a wedding planner. If you want someone who will help your dream come true, make sure everything happens smoothly, and someone who will remind you what you really want on your day -- Jes is the woman for you. Again, I could write a book on how incredible she is. Hire her, no need to look elsewhere.
