I started Khalil & Co. as a solo makeup artist and grew it, one bride at a time, into a full team of hair and makeup artists serving San Antonio, Austin and the Hill Country. Before beauty, I earned a supply chain degree from Texas A&M and spent time in front of the camera. Both shaped how I run wedding mornings: organized, on schedule and camera-ready. I believe the getting-ready room sets the tone for your whole day, so I hire artists for how they handle pressure, not just for their portfolios. I'm also committed to keeping my artists busy and supported, because a happy team shows up at its best for every bride. I have "leap" tattooed on my forearm, and it's how I make decisions. When I'm not leading our team, you'll find me with my husband Phil and our two sons.

parate email confirmations for hair and makeup, and my makeup artist did not show up on my wedding day. Thankfully my amazing hair stylist, Morgan was able to call two makeup artists that she knew as backup to come help out two hours later. I never received an apology or call back from Adriana about this mistake. When I expressed how upset I was with the way she didn't handle the situation, she told me that it's written in the contract that if an emergency happens it will be handled, however this was not an emergency she never responded . This caused much stress and frustration not only for myself but my bridal party as well because they were frantically trying to find a solution. I would not recommend Khalil and Co. to anyone for any event but instead each individual artist for freelance work. (Hair: Morgan and Makeup: Jacqui and Lyndsey). All of the credit goes to these three artists.

ur wedding day which is a very rare occurrence for us. Luckily, our contract protects you and we were able to not only keep you on schedule, but send out an additional artist on the house. We also upgraded a bridesmaid from eyes only to a full makeup service and never requested payment for it. After the event, all artists reported back saying the bride and bridesmaids were beyond satisfied and the bride had commented she liked the wedding day hair and makeup more than the trial. When we were asked to refund 3 days after the wedding day, we denied the request as we over delivered on the contract. First off, I'd like to say that I was part of a bridal party this past weekend and the makeup and hairstyles on the bride, bridesmaids, mother-of-the-bride and myself were just ama...

BUT I did have a major issue with how the Makeup Artist, Adriana, (1) lacked professional attire to this job (showed up in tennis, leggings and tank top) and (2) none of her makeup packaging had been cleaned prior to this job. I'm concerned if the outer packaging was not clean, the makeup itself was not sanitized risking infections from client to client. Since this was a bridal party of 6, again for sanitary reasons, one would think the MUA would pack more than just a few brushes to use between girls. I'm disappointed in the lack of mascara the MUA had on hand for drugstore mascara irritates my eyes. I wore false eyelashes myself but if someone is a mascara lover Estee Lauder, Lancome or Origins would be a great option. Yes, one works with makeup all day and packaging tends to get dirty but one would expect a Makeup Artist featured on The Knot would have more pride into how she presents her products and herself regardless of her great skills. I will repeat, this is not a bashing review, and it is not an attack on the MUA, this is all constructive criticism from a professional standpoint.

ints of concern: Adriana is known for showing up in workout gear to majority of her jobs. As one of the most requested artists, she was on a 13 hour shift that day with no breaks. The Hyatt Regency Hill Country (her first stop of the day) posted a mile round trip for her to carry all of her belongings. She always carries her portable chair, her rolling Zuca bag, and an additional bag filled with her airbrush gear. This is a lot for her to handle so we do give her a pass on not wearing heels while carrying such a load. She does dress comfortably due to the physical strain she endures transferring to each job and standing up for such long periods of time. Not to mention she always shows up with a smile on her face ready to greet her bride! Adriana (and all of our makeup artists) always show up with clean and professional makeup. Adriana has 72 different brushes in her kit, one of the most extensive out there. When working through a group of clients, you will see more and more color pile up on her towels, just as a painter cleans their brushes. This actually means the brushes are getting cleaned and sanitized! Adriana did offer a Tarte mascara to be used on your eyes instead of the waterproof Covergirl. This was declined as an option. It also states in the contract that if anyone has any allergies to please let us know prior so we can prepare. Adriana would have been more than happy to purchase you a special Estee Lauder waterproof mascara (or you would be welcome to provide your own) if needed. We did have such a blast on this wedding and appreciate the constructive criticism! We were able to take care of the bride's needs, our #1 priority, doubling her services within 72 hours notice. We were also able to arrive early, set up prior to all bridal party arrival, and even end early to provide the bride with the ultimate relaxation. They provided their feedback on certain looks, but were willing to match anything my girls provided an inspirational photo of. Most of my party got there airbrush makeup and everyone loved it! (btw, I stayed home doing my manicure in those two hours). When I contacted the owner, she said it’s because I picked the loose curls for a hair style, as if I was the first bride to be to want that look. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this place for anything. Invest your money I wisely! You will not get what you want here, plus they will blame you for their failure.

Your hairstylist suggested that another style be picked due to your hair type and warned the style would not last. Unfortunately you chose to try the style against our recommendation. Once you left you contacted asking for a free trial because it fell, as we had previously mentioned it would. We refused a free trial. little anxious about make-up on my wedding day since I am normally very minimalistic with my make-up, but Adriana and Debbie exceed my expectations in every way. Adriana always responded promptly to my messages and the entire process with Khalil & Co. was stress free. Since I live in Dallas, I wasn’t able to have a makeup and hair trial, but after looking over their Instagram, I knew I would be in good hands! The ladies were on-time and worked quickly, even though several of us had lots of hair! They came prepared with their own chairs and all the necessary equipment. It was the most stress-free aspect of my day since the girls chatted with us and played a great playlist! I chose to have airbrush makeup, and I was really happy with the result. I cried a bit, then wiped my tears, and still looked flawless! Additionally, one of my bridesmaid has very dry skin, and it looked great on her as well! My photographer just sent me the final photos from the wedding, and some of my favorite shots are of the back of my head, because my hair was more beautiful than I could have imagined. Before starting, Debbie and I discussed a few photos I had sent for inspiration. Debbie helped me decide on the right look based on my hair texture, and then she worked her magic. Seriously, magic. My hair was AMAZING! And it stayed in place the entire night! Thank you both so much for making my day significantly less stressful and so much more beautiful!

my wedding day. Secondly, they had a price change after I signed our initial contract. All additional services were then kicked up to the higher rate, where another vendor honored all prices at the time of initial booking. Third, when paying through paypal, they will require you to pay as friends and family; otherwise, you get the 3% fee charged to you. This fee is to be paid by the vendor according to paypal, and protects you from not receiving goods or services you pay for. I didn't want to have to pay this, so essentially, I forfeited my protection. Fourth, my Maid of Honor had her granddaughter's hair done, who is 6 years old. She was charged $75, when it took them maybe 20 minutes to do her hair. This was a bit ridiculous considering I paid the same for each of the bridesmaids, and it took way longer! Fifth, there was no restroom at their facility. They had apparently lost the key to the restroom a while back, and we all had to go down the stairs to the starbucks. Adriana was prompt in responding to questions, but had I known this was going to be my experience, I would have went with my original choice.

t process. When it comes to payment, you do have multiple payment options with us (Cash, Card, Check, PayPal, and Venmo). Your selection was the PayPal option in which you were given the two options within it to include the 3% fee or you could send via friends and family. When you signed your contract you signed for an amount due for services, not for PayPals fees. I am very sorry we did not inform you that our PayPal option would need to have that fee included upon signing the contract. With this feedback we will now inform future brides should they choose this option they are responsible for the service fee. With 2018, inflation has happened with our quality products. The rates did slightly increase so we can still use the best products on our clients. You were informed that new services were at the higher rates. The flower girl did have adult pricing as she was judged and agreed to have a full head of hair. We do have a company policy where flower girls are free if they are seen to not have a full head of hair! As for the trial run look versus day of, if you let our stylists know while in studio they are happy to make any adjustments to your look. Upon leaving the studio and nothing is brought to our attention we cannot make these adjustments to perfect it. We apologize about the bathroom key as well, we do have to wait on our landlord to get a copy of it and there is unfortunately a waiting period to get a replacement. We are very fortunate to have our lovely Starbucks neighbors be so kind to our brides letting them use their facilities until we get the replacement, and also offer awesome coffee! I definitely recommend paying the extra money for the airbrush! it is amazing! it withstood all my tears! I wasn't too happy with my bridal trial makeup but Adriana was so accommodating and we made a few minor tweaks for the day of the wedding and i was absolutely in love with my makeup! Pricing is affordable and reasonable and the quality is amazing! I totally recommend using Khalil and Co.

p, but day of the wedding we made some tweaks and I loved the overall. She didn't make me feel bad for changing the game plan, or nervous that we were taking up so much time. On the back end of it I never actually received a final breakdown of what all I paid for. I'm sure this is a one off, but I received a copy of the bill prior to the trial run, but we added/changed some services while we were there. I'm sure the overall pricing was close, but when there's 10 hairs, 2 make ups, 4 or 5 lashes, liquid make up versus traditional, it gets tough to keep up with. Part of our additions was adding extra lashes for some of the bridesmaids, but ultimately on wedding day we were told that those weren't paid for and none of us had cash on us. It put me in a stressful spot, I had already told the bridesmaids that they were counted for and that everything was paid up and good, yet I'm scrambling trying to find someone who has cash on them. I did end up Venmo-ing the $30 dollars to Khalil & Co, and all is well, but in the future I think it would be great to have a cashapp/ venmo/ option to service any last minute unexpected add ons. Overall great group, efficient, sweet, and made every girl feel beautiful!
