When I look back at my wedding photos I am transported back to the best day of my life and can relive each moment. After seeing the result, the most gorgeous photos we have ever laid eyes on, we canceled our wedding photographer and asked Kate to travel to NJ for our wedding and she agreed happily with zero hesitation. I also want to mention how professional she is - When I was running late for ceremony (my fault) she did NOT rush me or even let me know I was behind at all knowing It would cause the bride stress…I found out DAYS after my wedding that the ceremony was late. In addition to the amazing person Kate is, her photos are INSANE! I got my photos back (within like 3 weeks by the way, which is unheard of) and literally never felt so beautiful in my life…she captured so much love and happiness. Every photo was bright, and alive and captured the true emotions of every person at every moment of the day. Kate was by our side from the moment we even started discussing hiring her for our wedding. I was planning a post Covid wedding which meant everything was booking up so quickly, and she made us a priority before we even had a wedding date! We made 2 trips to Charleston for planning and she gladly arranged our engagement photos around our hectic schedule. At our first meeting, when we took our engagement photos, Kate made Chris and I so comfortable. Not to mention she made us look like professional models in the photos! Kate thinks of everything to make sure your wedding day is so relaxing and fun! Her calls, emails, questionnaires were so helpful. nnected with her on Instagram which is one of the highlights of my day. She is so energetic and generous with her time to help other photographers and business owners. She has a passion for life and turning out some fantastic photographs. We met with her the first time in a Charleston coffee shop. Minutes into the meeting, we had no doubt that we wanted to hire her. We had already looked at samples of her work and loved how she captured the essence of the person or objects being photographed - it seemed so intimate. The first session that my daughter and now son-in-law had was their engagement photos. They wanted to do the session in order to make wedding day pictures less awkward. Kate was their biggest cheerleader, making them feel so comfortable. Those photos in downtown Charleston were amazing! Prior to the wedding day, Kate made sure he had a list of any special shots we wanted captured and grouping lists for formal wedding photos. The night before the wedding I realized that the engagement picture my daughter brought for the welcome table at the wedding was not large enough. I was unable to get the photo to print at Walgreens so I texted Kate with a last minute request to see if there was any way she could bring an 8x10 to the wedding the next day (she DOES have a family and she did have to start the next day EARLY for "getting ready" photos). When we got to the venue, the 8X10 photo was on the welcome table. That was so sweet! The day of the wedding, she went into director mode and kept us all on schedule. She and the videographer, Jessie at Palmetto Wedding Films, worked flawlessly together getting all of the content that they needed. The day was absolutely perfect. I was so surprised that we had lots of photos emailed to us early the next day. It was great having professional photos to post to social media the day after the wedding. The photographs are stunning! I can't wait to see the heirloom album! Words can't adequately express how pleased we were with the entire experience with Kate. There are only a handful of photos from my big day that I love. Some of our photos seemed rushed and not really good angles or spacing. A couple of group photos come to mind where there is not a single good photo from my whole wedding party photos. Every photo someone is blocked so I can’t use a single one to highlight our most dearest loved ones. Even photos of me and my husband alone don’t really highlight our good features or have good angles. I only love a few of them. It was hard starting from scratch but I just kept search hashtags on Instagram and checking out photos that drew me in. I consistently found myself on Kate's page and just LOVED how she was authentic, completely herself and was unapologetic about it. I usually liked a more dark, romantic style, especially as a pale person, I was afraid of what a light bright photographer would do with my skin tone. But the way in which Kate captured the joy and love in the faces of all of her couples that made me keep coming back! We connected on Instagram when she posted that she was booked for 2019, which almost crushed all my plans. You need to act fast when you want a good one! Chatting with Kate was totally natural, just like conversing with a friend. Since I've been a bridesmaid in more than my fair share of weddings, I know that you really need to vibe with your photographer almost more than you like their style because they will be with you ALL DAY. Once we worked out our budget (Kate's prices are really fair for the value you get, especially compared to the photography industry in general in Charleston) and confirmed our date, we got right on booking with her. We had a QUICK turn around where we had one weekend to get to Charleston and meet with ALL our vendors. She was so great and worked out doing our engagement pictures that weekend, which was somewhat last minute. She totally put us at ease and we had FUN- and the photos gave me confidence that the beautiful light airy style that she shoots wasn't at the cost of my light skin tone looking washed out or overtly pale. Kate was in contact communication with us to answer my questions. She had a great document for us to fill out to share with her all the important photos we wanted ahead of time, so I wouldn't need to think about remembering them the day of. She helped process big day-of questions and timelines with me and worked with my coordinator to make sure everything we wanted would happen. Kate arrived early to get our prep pictures going. All day, she kept things moving. Her and Kelsey Halm, who was so fun and served as the second shooter, were a joy to add to our day. Photos for the bridal party were quick and efficient, which matters in the southern heat! Kate took us to a park she scouted ahead of time for me that had the iconic southern Spanish moss which put our pictures over the top. Her family wrangling skills are unparalleled and we FLEW through family shots. Kate was so great to even stay a little late to make sure we got every shot we wanted. I am SO grateful to be able to call Kate a friend and to be a part of the #KDYEBRIDE family! Booking Kate was easily our best decision for the wedding. I can’t wait to visit to get have anniversary pictures done!
