Kate and Ally's

professional, and our maître d', Jen, was outstanding. She kept everything organized and made sure the day ran smoothly. If I were reviewing only the wedding day, this would easily be a 5-star review. Unfortunately, the planning process was a very different experience. Kate & Ally's was the exclusive caterer for our venue, so we didn't have the option to choose another company. From the beginning, communication was frustrating. It was difficult to schedule meetings with our contact person, Lauren. There were even instances where we would set up a call and she wouldn’t show up. A major issue was the uncertainty surrounding our contract and pricing. I was initially quoted $188 per person, but when I received the contract, it listed $275 per person. I immediately questioned the discrepancy and asked for an itemized breakdown, and I was told that the $275 price was simply "a typo." What was especially concerning to me was that I had to catch and question the mistake myself. It left me feeling that, had I not noticed the discrepancy and called it out, I could have ended up paying the higher amount without ever realizing there was an error. That understandably made me question whether I could trust the pricing I was being given. Even after this, I repeatedly asked for clarification and couldn't get a clear answer about what the correct price actually was. It wasn't until 38 days before my wedding, after weeks of asking and finally reaching a breaking point, that I was given a final price. No couple should have to spend months wondering what their catering bill is going to be, especially when they are less than six weeks away from their wedding. When I called to express my concerns, Lauren's response was disappointing. She told me I was being "difficult," said she was busy because the owner had mono, and told me I needed to lower my expectations. At that point, I asked to speak directly with the owner, and from then on I communicated only with them. While things improved after that, I never received an apology for how I had been treated. It's unfortunate because the event staff delivered an excellent experience on our wedding day. However, planning a wedding lasts for months, and customer service during that process matters just as much as the event itself. The lack of communication, missed calls, uncertainty about pricing until the last minute, and unprofessional interactions significantly impacted what should have been an exciting time. For those reasons, I'm giving Kate & Ally's 3 stars. They clearly know how to execute a beautiful wedding, but I hope they improve the planning experience and communication for future couples.
