I pored over online portfolios and legit made a spreadsheet to keep track of all of the Louisville-area photographers I liked who were in my price range, and then I ranked them according to my various criteria. (I’m nothing if not strategic.) Karyn was the clear winner, and she proved to be the perfect choice to photograph our day. Here’s the thing: You can see her photos for yourself online. They are GORGEOUS. (Everyone tells us our pics look like they belong in magazine.) The lighting, the whimsy, the emotion that she captures—you can see all that online. What you cannot see online—and therefore what I will tell you—is that Karyn is more than just a skilled photographer. She is also a calming, reassuring presence, the exact type of person you want near you on your wedding day. She helped me plan the timeline of my day. She went above and beyond when it came to doing our engagement photos. She was super on top of things when it came to corresponding. And she shared in my giddiness on the day of the wedding. Having her as my photographer was basically like having an extra bridesmaid/wedding coordinator beside me all day both to calm me down and to help things go smoothly. In wedding planning, you want to surround yourself with people who make you feel NOT CRAZY, and Karyn will definitely help you feel not crazy. She’ll help you feel like a beautiful, happy, remarkably calm bride.

Even though she lived several hours away, she was so accommodating and willing to do whatever she could to make the whole process stress-free! Not only did she happily make the trip for our wedding, but she also met up with us to shoot our engagement photos. The best investment you will ever make on your wedding day is the ability to capture and save the memories of your best day forever! Not only did Karyn provide us with our dream wedding photos, but she was also a ROCK during the whole planning and preparing process. We did not have a wedding coordinator, and Karyn went above and beyond to give us scheduling advice based on her expertise and kept us all on track the day-of. We were very nervous in the days before our wedding because we had hoped for sunny, warm weather, but the forecast was showing rain. Her extensive and detailed guide book helped alleviate our fears by assuring us that she would never let rain ruin our special day or the quality of our pictures one bit. It ended up being very foggy and misty on our wedding day, and she was able to work with the weather to create an amazing artistic "ethereal" look. Not only is Karyn extremely talented, but her personality is so warm, cheerful, and friendly. Her positivity and enthusiasm helped to calm our nerves and her clear instructions made everything go so smoothly. I cannot imagine a better experience and don't know what we would have done without Karyn! I can say in all honesty that after booking her and working with her on our engagement pictures, I had zero worries about photography the day of the wedding and had complete faith in her. And sure enough, Karyn delivered! We could not be happier with all of the beautiful photographs we received, but also had a great experience working with Karyn. In addition to being a talented photographer, she is a upbeat and friendly person, which only enhances the experience overall. She does a great job of working with her clients and planning ahead to make sure that she's planned to get all the shots and all the details that are important to individual couples and communicates closely with you throughout the whole process from booking to well beyond your event. In fact, after our great experience with her, my family is thrilled that my brother and his fiancée were lucky enough to book Karyn for their wedding next summer! Once as the finance of a groomsmen, the second time as the bride and the third time as a bridesmaid!
