I cannot recommend this company and actually send out a warning. I booked this caterer for my June 2024 wedding. I communicated with the manager that I have a severe nut allergy, w...
hich was noted in writing. I was assured that they could provide safe appetizers, dinner, and dessert for my reception. However, a bridesmaid noticed two platters full of nut-covered desserts on the dinner buffet table. She brought this to my mother’s attention and she requested they be immediately removed and taken off of the premises. She also requested that a dessert be brought for our guests—since we paid for it and were assured that we could have that. The only server present left our party and went to a local grocery store. He brought back with him mini cupcakes that were decorated for Memorial Day—which was the weekend prior. We were very dissatisfied with the desserts for our guests. We spoke to the manager the next day, Monday, June third. He apologized and said he was the one who took my order and documented the severe nut allergy. He then admitted that half of the bruschetta contained pine nuts! It’s a miracle that I didn’t end up in the ER on my own wedding day because of this. The owner will not acknowledge wrong doing, will not apologize, nor offer any compensation for his reckless errors that endangered his customer—on my wedding day! We have never experienced worse customer service, or a greater lack of common human decency. The owner has refused to respond or even speak to us, despite our several attempts.
Mic and Mx were great to work with. We communicated constantly about our menu options, pricing and what to offer. It was great to have the input and be able to communicate so cle...
arly so there was never any confusion on what we did or did not have. Our guests couldn't say enough good things about the food and how quick the service was. I could not have had a better catering service. Having their food truck out made clean up so simple because there were no buffet items to worry about. At the end of the night, Mic boxed up the remaining food that was left for us to take with us. I cannot even begin to say how great the Kanak Attack crew is to work with. I was short on my main plates I'd ordered and they took my plan and ran with it. There was no hesitation and no push back. They had things handled and I would recommend them to anyone that asked.
Food was delicious. Made me long for good old Hawai’i Nei. Staff was helpful and personable. Very convenient that they packed up all the leftovers for us.
The catering services were extremely excellent. Thankyou for such amazing services.
Four stars because everyone loved the food at our wedding. Kanak Attack was going through a huge transition with opening a restaurant at the time of our booking and planning. It im...
pacted our order on the wedding day. Things were forgotten by the coordinator that we know we discussed. We were told we could pick a package and then change a few things around and even did on. We chose to do away with dessert and lemonade and switch to appetizers and then add on water. There was NO water on the day of our wedding. We were also told the food would be packed based on guest count. We confirmed a few days before. One of our apps was a dip but on the day we ran out of the chips to go with it and were told we only ordered one bag of chips. One bag of chips for 130 people! We also picked out an eco friendly type of disposable plates for the event and on the day, they were not included. The owner himself also promised the father of the groom a personal upside down pineapple cake which was no where to be found. The servers were so nice and helpful but they knew nothing about any of this. It seemed as if a paper of notes on our meetings had been misplaced or forgotten. One of the servers even drove to her own house to get her own cake knife for our cake cutting service that we booked. Those of us who were at the tasting with the head chef and owner could also tell the obvious difference in the food quality. Our guests ended up loving the food but for us, who were dreaming of more of that Kanak Mac for months, were a bit disappointed.
The food was great! They were really nice people and they answered all our questions in a timely manner. Only down side is they forgot one of our items to bring to the reception wh...
ich was kind of stressful!
The food was fabulous! Everyone loved it. Our rehearsal dinner went smoothly with a pig roast and the chef that night was friendly and professional. The wedding was a whole other s...
tory. The food was still fantastic, but the service was poor and nothing we had discussed happened. We discussed a double-sided buffet line due to our large guest count, 210 people. They did a one-sided and refused when we asked them to change. When more than half the line was down and several people spoke with the leader that night, they finally changed it to a double-sided, too late at that point really. We had discussed to save the leftovers and brought containers for them to save the food in so we could donate to the homeless shelter. They took the leftovers, including our silicone tongs, our punchbowl crate, and our hordoeurve platters that had food we had prepped and paid for independently (definitely not theirs to take). We called to discuss all of this with them, very nicely, and they did not take responsibility for any of it and blamed it on us. Although the food is great, I wouldn't give them our business again. Had they apologized and gone with the "customer is always right motto", this review would have gone much differently as it would have shown their integrity as a local business.
Everyone was loving the food. They were professional and did a great tasting before hand. Mike is very nice and has a lot of pride for what he does.
great catering service! we had there food truck at our boise reception. we had 120 guests. we also had appetizers beforehand. food and service was great.
Service was wonderful! Set up & tear down was easier and my family didn't have to worry about a thing! Everyone raved about the food for weeks after the wedding! LOVE (:
I love Kanak Attack food, it is very tasty! The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because we ran out of rolls, and I told them to prepare for 150 ppl and only about 130-140 sh...
owed up so there should've been NO reason to run out of rolls. Other than that, they did a great job.
Kanak Attack is awesome. I received many compliments on the catering and how great it was. I love to go to their restaurant as well, Hawaiian BBQ.
Kanak Attack did a good job catering my wedding. There was a change n catering mangers halfway through the planning process so it took a while to get everything finalized. The tast...
ing was great and they created a custom menu for us. At the wedding, however, they did run out of plates which was embarrassing for us. The problem was eventually resolved, but ti shouldn't have happened, there wasn't more people there than what we had planned. The food was a little different, pork was salty and chicken wasn't how we anticipated but all else was good.
