Hi! My name is Kaitlyn, and I'm a candid-focused wedding photographer serving the greater Northeast Ohio area. I've been working as a photographer in one capacity or another for over 10 years . From travel photography through France and Scotland to photojournalism work out in the Pacific Northwest, I ended back in my hometown capturing love stories – and I wouldn't have it any other way.
My primary goal as a wedding photographer is to ensure that your photography experience adds to your day rather than takes away from it. I think getting in front of the camera can be fun and natural (even if past experiences have you feeling differently). I use prompts to ensure that the posed portions of the day still feel authentic to your relationship, and put a focus on candids that capture those genuine moments with your loved ones. I think your photos shouldn't just look like you, but should feel like the two of you as well.
I'm huge on client communication, and take a limited number of weddings each year to ensure that each couple gets dedicated time for help, questions, and just to get to know one another before I third wheel it on one of the most important days of your life.
All of my packages are custom built to capture the moments that matter most to you. Every package includes high-resolution digital images delivered via on online gallery.

he promised return timelines for photos and message at or faster than other photographers, but consistently delivered faster than what she promised (super awesome when you're an angsty bride waiting for wedding photos back!).
I was drawn to Kaitlyn's editing style, more natural and emphasizing the landscape and scenery's natural features. I am not a fan of over edited, highly filtered images, which is what a lot of other photographers do (fine, just not my personal style). I was very excited with how our engagement and wedding photos turned out, a great representation of her portfolio and just as expected.
Her style is more free than directive, so if you are extremely stiff and uncomfortable in front of a camera, you might want to ask upfront for more direction and posing. This was not as much of an issue for us as we naturally lead each other through our engagement and wedding photos, making the photos more flowing and candid than rigid.
I would recommend using Kaitlyn Bernauer Photography for wedding or any photography needs!

I'm not a big fan of photographers who drastically edit their photos, so I really admired and appreciated Kaitlyn's photography style and how true the photos look to real life. I wanted to remember our wedding day exactly as it happened, and thanks to Kaitlyn, she was able to freeze time for us on a day that flew by in the blink of an eye through her stunning photos. She was also extremely helpful in the weeks leading up to the wedding, helping me to create and adjust our wedding day timeline to ensure that we captured all of the photos we wanted while also leaving time in the schedule to relax and spend time with my husband. I HIGHLY recommend working with Kaitlyn for your wedding!

It goes without saying that her photos are also phenomenal. Her background is in photojournalism and you can see this shine in how she captures candids and the small details of our day.
Kaitlyn also helped us out and gave us extra reassurance throughout the planning process - she helped identify best spots for photos, and even gave ideas for our ceremony spot (we wanted to be married in the woods). She came out to our ceremony spot to help pick where we should set up our arch for the best photos, and provided a lot of feedback to help everything come together. When our day-of planner we booked was less than stellar, Kaitlyn stepped up and helped make sure the day went smooth.
Our engagement photo package was a quick turn around. Kaitlyn provided a sneak peek for our wedding package within a couple days of our wedding with SO many photos! Our full package turn around was quick and had more photos than I could ever imagine.
