Julie K. Gray Photography

ly responsive, helpful, and made us and our families feel very comfortable. She delivered all of our photos to us so quickly as well, and we are so so happy with how they turned out. Our family and friends have all commented on how incredible they are, and how quick the turnaround was! We would definitely recommend hiring Julie for your special day, or any special occasion!

mation. On the day, it was evident that she had reviewed her notes because she remembered everything we had discussed with what photos were important to us. Julie was on time, focused, and we never felt rushed. She was always one step ahead of us. At one point, Julie even helped with some buttons on my dress and noticed something needed to be done with a decor item and she took it upon herself to handle it quietly and without expecting acknowledgment. You can feel that Julie is a good human, and it felt good to have her capture our day. Our guests also loved her and invited her to be in some of their photos as well! After 16 years she's doing limited weddings in the future, so get on her books early if you can. Her editing is bright and joyful. She captured every moment as though she could anticipate what may come next. In our tiny chapel she somehow managed to move around without us noticing her movements. She's got this down to a science. On the day, when I asked for a few photos with me and our three girls as I forgot to mention that, she made it happen and had us back inside right before dinner. Honestly, Julie's the kind of vendor that feels like a friend. 10/10 recommend.

her!

make her photos pop, and she knows how to do so in low light, with the sun behind the subject, etc. Feeling such appreciation for her and all the care she put into capturing the day so well. All of our friends and family members have loved them too. We'll certainly cherish them forever.

ent & wedding photos. She made us feel so comfortable and is highly skilled at what she does! She is also super quick at getting edited photos back - we had them within a week!

y easy and natural. She is friendly and so easy to talk to. We immediately felt comfortable with her and she captured the most wonderful moments for us. Our wedding day was pure joy and my favorite part about our photos is that Julie captured that joy in each one. She also edited and returned our photos almost immediately! It was amazing to have access to the memories so quickly. If you are someone who is nervous about being in front of a camera I can truly not recommend Julie enough, hire her and I promise you will be so happy with that decision.

Then we found Julie and it clicked - she captures JOY in her photos, with bright colors, candid moments, and extremely artistic angles/frames. Only someone who loves what they do and is fun and enjoyable to be around for all types of people can bring out that honest and real happiness that Julie is able to capture in her photos. She will stay in the background or be out dancing with you on the dance floor, following your lead to make sure you have the day and pictures you want! Couldn't recommend Julie enough to all future brides/grooms for your big day!

ered all of our questions beforehand and she did an excellent job capturing our big day. I promise you won’t go wrong if you choose Julie as your photographer. 💓

d they all came out incredible. She worked with us during the photo shoots to make us feel comfortable and relaxed as we went through a range of poses/settings/backdrops. She was incredible on the day of our wedding going back and forth between the bridesmaid’s and groomsmen’s ready rooms to capture all of the preparations and then had a great detailed list of all the groupings of people to get together for photos. Julie took a mind boggling number of photos and then had them edited and sent back to us at an insane speed. She truly is wonderful to work with and will work so hard to make sure your photos capture your special day.

it in seamlessly and helped keep everyone relaxed throughout pictures. We then received our photos quickly after the wedding and are super pleased with how they came out! Julie did an amazing job capturing the natural joy of the day and this evident in all of the photos. I would definitely recommend Julie to anyone looking to hire a photographer in the Maine area!

calm nature is invaluable.

g our own research and combing through reviews. From start to finish, everything with Julie was incredible. She really understood what we wanted and that aligned perfectly with her vibrant and candid style. She was so efficient on the day of the wedding as well so we were able to enjoy what we put together. She truly has an amazing eye, book her!

nd at ease when he was nervous in front of the camera. We even had a date change for the wedding months later and Julie made it work! We had six small children at our wedding, and she was organized and engaging with them as well. My dad, who also doesn’t enjoy having his picture taken, was really impressed with her work as well during our ceremony and the portraits after! Julie is so talented, passionate about her work, and I can’t recommend her enough!

dn’t do engagement photos with Julie, but she arrived with such professionalism, friendliness, and flexibility that we felt at ease in front of the camera. She took beautiful photos, and even more amazingly, she had our entire wedding gallery completed and to us just six days after our wedding!

with you again soon in the future when/if we ever have an addition to the family!! (If you do those types of pictures) We will be sure to recommend you to all of our friends/family!

eded, and was able to capture all the candid moments. Julie was present and direct when needed (when we had a lot of people and on a tight schedule) but then also was able to seamlessly blend into the background to where we didn't even notice she was there! She took the most beautiful photos AND provided the proofs extremely fast! Highly, highly recommend!

with them. Julie was relatable, friendly, kind, and FUN! Her photos were so beautiful and she returned them in A WEEK! I know people who wait MONTHS for theirs. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

freezing weather and our wedding was raining. Both days the weather wasn’t ideal, but she was such a trooper and did whatever it took to get the right shots, all while making it fun. We also couldn’t believe how QUICKLY we got our beautiful photos back. Less than 72 hours…. I have friends who didn’t get their pictures back for MONTHS. We were so pleased with how our pictures came out and will always recommend her to our friends and families who are looking for a photographer!

nd let us know what to expect for day of. Our photo album was finished quicker than we anticipated and we could not be happier. Julie will be recommended to every friend having an upcoming wedding!

OVED her! Oh, and she turned our photos around in a matter of days... amazing... couldn't recommend her more!

she was super organized and made sure we got all of the photos we wanted, even when our planned schedule fell apart a bit. She also gave us great directions while we were taking portraits which made everything feel easy. In addition, the photos from our wedding are absolutely amazing! Both the planned portraits and the candids are frame worthy, and we are going to be obsessed with these photos forever. Finally, she had a super quick turn around with getting us our photos. She sent us the online album four days after our wedding, and the thumb drive about a week after that. Overall, we were so impressed with her professionalism and her personability, and would highly highly recommend her!

ke they really captured the day perfectly. She did a great job at making us feel comfortable while taking our pictures and also somehow seems to have captured every angle of our ceremony without anyone even noticing her moving around! Definitely recommend, thank you so much Julie for being part of our day!

ch ceremony and our big ceremony/reception, so we really got to know each other. Julie made us feel comfortable and at ease during all of our sessions. She was also well prepared for the many family and bridal party portraits and was able to quickly readjust the set schedule as needed when certain groups weren’t immediately ready. We love candid photos and we feel Julie did a great job capturing the fun and love we had at our wedding! All of the pictures turned out AMAZING and she had the entire album to us in just two days after the wedding. Thank you, Julie!

and every one. Amazing color, amazing depth, these pictures are one of a kind. You will not regret hiring Julie

elped me get my shoes on when my bridesmaids were busy! We didn’t have a wedding planner and working with Julie helped us to build our timeline for the day. She also was a real pro when it rained the day of the wedding and was still able to get us many of the outside shots we wanted for the first look and with the wedding party. She also did a wonderful job capturing the guests and got everyone on our shot list. The pictures came back so quickly and they look beautiful! I would absolutely recommend having Julie capture your special day for you!

f a lot of the guests at our wedding which was really great for us to reflect back on. The photos were beautiful and we're so happy!

on our wedding day and Julie was not only agile, but took some absolutely amazing photos. And she's FAST! We got our photos back in just 2 days. Julie is professional, reliable, very sweet, and really cares about the couples she works with. Our photos turned out beautifully and we're over the moon to have them for the rest of our lives. I recommend contacting Julie as soon as possible to see if she's available to photograph your wedding!

and was very good about communicating. The photos look literally amazing, and she took so many. She was moving during the whole wedding getting all the angles we never even knew we wanted. I would highly recommend Julie K Gray if you have been considering her, and will use her again if I ever need a photographer. She’s a true professional!

l at ease. Highly recommend Julie!

inning to the end. The day of there are bound to be some changes, but Julie was flexible and efficient, ensuring we all stayed on schedule and all my must have pictures we captured. Lastly, I was truly amazed by how quickly Julie had our pictures back to us- my friends waited over a month and I received mine within a few weeks. If you need a photographer, I couldn't recommend Julie enough.

ew the formal pictures list and day of timeline she was punctual, kind, cheerful and overall a wonderful person to work with. Day of the wedding she captured so many amazing pictures and edited them so quickly! We were able to order our Thank you Cards so quickly because of that. I would definitely recommend Julie to anyone who is looking for a great photographer!

s we really wanted photographed at our wedding! At our engagement shoot she put us at ease, and even suggested some spots in Portland we didn't know about which resulted in some of our most favorite photos! Leading up to our wedding, she was organized, responsive, and responsible: she emailed me a month ahead of time to establish our timeline and "must have shots". She was also flexible in capturing a few getting-ready moments as well :) She was also extremely quick in getting the photos back to us- we had them within a week! The photos came out so amazing and perfectly captured our day. I would recommend Julie to anyone in a heartbeat.

nd could not be more pleased. Julie brings an energy to your special day that makes you feel at ease and so comfortable on a stressful day. She is extremely responsive, professional, and just an overall joy to work with. Julie had our photos back to us within days and they exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend booking Julie and can't wait to use her again.

able to organize us all with a kind and positive attitude. I was looking for bright colorful photos and Julie certainly delivered. She turned our photos around in under a week! It was just so nice to relive the day so close to our actual wedding. I would highly recommend Julie for any and all of your photo needs!

cool as hell. She put us at ease and we felt very comfortable being photographed by her. She has an incredibly fast turnaround for photo edits, with engagement photos back THE NEXT DAY and almost 900 wedding photos back within a week. Our guests all adored her, and she was never in the way during the reception. Her photos are seriously stunning and bring out the natural beauty and joy in each subject- we all looked radiant! People who normally hate themselves in photos were reaching out to me to see how amazing they are. She does some of the staged photos that are typical, and those are great, but she truly shines in finding and capturing the candid, poignant, and funny moments that really bring the photos to life. The colors are beautiful and vibrant works of art. I seriously can't gush about Julie enough, and will probably have to find more excuses for her to photograph us in the future :) Seriously, our highest recommendation for Julie!

he has a perfect way of sitting back and capturing what is happening while also giving direction for photography. My husband and I are not people who take a lot of pictures, so we weren't quite sure what to do a lot of the time. Julie would quietly guide us with sort of a "trust me!" look on her face. All of the shots that she gave us direction on are easily our favorites of the bunch! Julie also took beautiful photos of everything happening all day and looking through them allows us to relive the day over and over. We had a beautiful day filled with so much joy and we cannot thank Julie enough for capturing that joy in photos.

t Julie made us feel relaxed and actually enjoy the experience. She captured the moments beautifully. I wish we had another exciting event coming up so we could work with her again!

we were going to do. Julie was so flexible and understanding throughout all the uncertainty, and we are so so so happy that we finally had our day and Julie was there to document such a sweet celebration after such a long wait! Julie made our photos so much fun, and we all felt so comfortable with her there. It was such a joy to relive the day when Julie sent us the stunningly beautiful photographs. We cannot recommend Julie enough!

and working together to make sure we had our (very long) shot list taken care of. Both my husband and I have divorced families which means we have double the family members, aka, a lot of "mandatory" photos. She has such a friendly and welcoming personality. Although we had only spoken on the phone (never met in person - I didn't want to do engagement photos) until my wedding day, I felt 1000% comfortable with her when we met! I received SO many compliments throughout the night of how "involved" she was... out on the dance floor capturing every moment, mingling with our guests to get the perfect shots! She was crazy quick to send back our edited photos and USB drive. THANK YOU for making our wedding day so easy and fun!!!

ndemic. She made us feel comfortable, took all the pictures on the list we wanted, and captured beautiful candid moments. I couldn't be happier with the results!

one of the things I truly appreciated we had just begun the wedding planning process and had already given a few deposits so I asked if I could wait a month before signing our contract and providing our deposit. Julie said yes and that she would let us know if anyone else inquired about our date. A few weeks went by and Julie reached out saying another bride had asked about our day, I knew it was time to move forward. Fast forward to the wedding day, Julie arrived on time with no issues getting herself to the island we were getting married on. We finally met each other in person and I could just tell we were the perfect fit. Having pictures taken can be stressful and uncomfortable at times but we did not feel any of these emotions with Julie we were laughing and just having a really good time. We also had numerous friends and family comment on how great she was! I had heard many horror stories about the length of time couples had waited to get their photos back because of this I was ready to wait weeks knowing full well that the photos would be worth the wait. Much to my surprise just 4 DAYS after our wedding we received a link with every photo available at our fingertips. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer. Thanks Julie!

ed in just 7 hours, which I really appreciated, and we even got to enjoy half of cocktail hour! I can't recommend her enough.

lopement package but less than 8-10 hours, Julie was able to give me a few options in between those two extremes. As a COVID bride the plans changed many times and Julie was always quick to respond and to roll with the revisions. She was super helpful in creating a timeline for the day which I used to coordinate other vendors and my wedding party. In the weeks leading up to the wedding she checked in on the details to make sure nothing had changed. Day of she was fantastic at handling a very large and rambunctious and possibly a little tipsy set of groomsmen, she got some amazing shots without being “in the way” or disrupting the flow and vibe of the wedding, and my one request was to move through formals fast so we could get to cocktail hour, we had a solid 40 minutes of cocktail hour left to eat and visit with guests! Our wedding was at a boys summer camp so not necessarily the most elegant setting but they way she captured these photos it looks like we are in a woodland fairytale. Probably the most important fact, she got almost 700 photos back to me in a WEEK! A WEEK!!!

mimosas with my bridesmaids in our robes, my parents reading the card I wrote them and crying lol, then our entire beach wedding photos were great! She did an amazing job with our family photos but also got some really cool fun ones with our wedding party cheering in the background as we shared a kiss. That one is my absolute favorite. At the reception, again I can relive all the moments, including my uncle's family tradition of finger swiping the back of the cake! She went through and found all of these either fun or intimate interactions between my guests and got photos of that. I am actually sending personal pictures to each couple of them at the wedding with my thankyou cards, they are that good! Julie is a very fun and easy to talk to photographer. Even though this was a destination wedding at a beach that's three hours away from us, I would actually consider having her do my maternity photos down the road! Impressive work. Thank you so much Julie for these beautiful memories that will last a lifetime!
