Unfortunately, I had a deeply disheartening experience with Judges for Love. Months ago, I hired a specific judge for my June wedding and paid the company in full well in advance. ...
After receiving no communication, I reached out to Iris myself to ask when my next meeting with the judge would be scheduled. Only then was I informed that my chosen judge had experienced a health issue and would no longer be able to officiate my ceremony. I was sympathetic, expressed that I hoped the judge recovered soon, and completely understood the situation. However, because I had already paid in full for that particular judge, and because my wedding is approaching, I politely asked whether any partial compensation would be offered for this last-minute change, and whether another judge from their website might be available.
Iris responded rudely, telling me that most people would have canceled the contract entirely and that I was essentially lucky she was willing to find me anyone at all. She also suggested I should be more concerned with the judge’s health than with finding a solution for my wedding. This was both unfair and unprofessional, particularly given that I had already expressed compassion for the judge’s circumstances. She then provided the name of a replacement judge who was vastly different from the one I had originally selected. When I asked to choose my own replacement and requested the names of judges available on my wedding date, she refused. I was therefore left with no options, despite having paid in full for a specific service I was no longer receiving. After I repeatedly asked about one preferred replacement judge, I was then told I would need to pay an additional $500 for his travel. Given the circumstances, it was surprising that no accommodation or adjustment was offered on the company's behalf. The entire experience felt inappropriate, dismissive, and highly unprofessional. I ultimately requested a full refund, which I have yet to receive.

years, I am constrained to respond to this outrageously false review. Rebecca F. booked a judge I provided for her wedding after a free consultation with that judge three months ago. Our standard procedure about which she was informed, is to schedule a final consultation with the judge about a month before the ceremony. Two months before Rebecca F.'s ceremony, I received a telephone call from the judge's daughter that her mother was taken to the hospital having suffered a sudden brain aneurism. In addition to expressing my shock and condolence to the daughter, I asked her to give me an evaluation of her mother's condition so that I could determine how best to deal with several upcoming scheduled ceremonies for which the judge had been booked. The judge would require a long recovery period and I needed to find replacements.
On the same day this happened, Rebecca F. contacted me to schedule her final consultation with the judge. I had already began working on finding another one of our judges to perform Rebecca F.'s wedding when I received
Rebecca's email and was scheduling other judges to work with other couples whose weddings were affected as well.
When I informed Rebecca F. of the situation and told her that I was successful in finding another one of our judges to perform her ceremony and could schedule an immediate consultation, Rebecca demanded that she be given a list of our judges so that she could choose who she wanted from that list and that she get a discount of our fee. I explained to her that providing a "list" of judges to choose from was not possible given the different locations of the judges and that I was fortunate to have a judge still available for her date and location. She became irate and asked for a particular judge from our website who lives in Virginia to come to New York to perform her ceremony. I told her the mileage fee for 500 miles roundtrip plus the tolls between New York and Virginia would cost $500. Given that additional cost which I did not want her to have to incur, and the difficulty in providing the judge from Virginia,
I suggested she talk to the judge who was available in New York to determine if she liked him, but she declined the offer and demanded an immediate full refund through Zelle. I immediately sent the refund to her by Zelle and Zelle's message was that the refund was in process, which I communicated to Rebecca and sent her a copy of the Zelle communication. Rebecca F. began a tirade sending angry e-mails one after the other in rapid succession threatening me and saying she had not received the Zelle payment, that she was sure the refund would take many days and demanding I contact the bank about it. I contacted he bank right away and was told Zelle had received my request and was processing the refund to Rebecca and that the payment would be delivered by the end of business that very day. The bank confirmed that Rebecca received her full refund at the end of the day, contrary to Rebecca's assertion.
As ALL of the previous reviews of Judges For Love have been five stars, most mentioning not only the great ceremonies by ALL of our judges, but also my professionalism in treating each couple, I have to say that Rebecca F.'s response to my attempt to help her in this difficult and sad situation is bizarre and disheartening. All of the other couples affected by the judge's sudden illness have been understanding and gracious, working with me to provide them with an available judge. They reacted without anger, hysteria or demands for a discounted fee for our services. Their maturity and empathy in this tragic situation contrast with the petulant and irrational response of Rebecca F.
My hope is that the judge has a full and complete recovery. I am happy to say that our other affected couples will have the wedding ceremonies they had hoped to have with our committed and professional judges.

We were lucky enough to be introduced to Judge Cohen as the officiate our wedding. We spoke several times before our ceremony and Judge Cohen took the time to learn about us as well as tell us about himself. Every conversation was a pleasure and felt like we were speaking to a friend or family member. After our conversations, Judge Cohen put together the perfect and most beautiful ceremony and vows that fit us perfectly. It was sent to us before the ceremony for final approval and any adjustments were welcomed. He had all of our guests laughing, then in tears.
