We had a long, wonderful phone conversation several weeks before, then when my husband and I decided we wanted to do some last minute changes, he spoke with us again on the phone the week of the wedding. He brought incredible assistants with him who did not complain once about the insane heat, and they were all dressed so nicely! His assistants were even going back and forth between me and my husband prior to the wedding to exchange gifts for us! When he sent the pictures to us just a few short weeks later, we were just in awe. We knew his work as amazing, but he truly made us feel (and look) like the only two people in the world in those pictures. His night shots especially just blew our minds. We were even worried with the timing of our wedding and how late the sun goes down in July that we might not be able to even get night shots while we had him, but he made it happen! I cannot tell you how many friends and family have complimented us on the beauty of the pictures, and I always say the credit goes right to John. We are still in the process of finalizing the layout of our album, but I have no doubt that it will be absolutely beautiful. I also want to add that John is truly one of the nicest, sweetest people you will ever meet. He made us feel so comfortable on our wedding day, even though that was the first time we even met him. I would recommend John to any bride and groom in a heartbeat. You will not be disappointed!

He also is INCREDIBLY talented with his use of light. I told my (now)husband I wanted photos that looked like art for our future home, and John exceeded all of our expectations. e were not super organized for our getting ready pictures or first look but he rolled with it and managed to get all the important images. He also got all of our requested family pictures and then some. Couples should know that yes, the second shooter is his wife who helps set up photos and tech, but I feel like the shoots went much smoother with her help rather than take tons of setup time. I was also worried with such a small wedding that a photographer would stand out but John was VERY discreet and there are so many pictures that I never knew he was nearby for. He was also great about quietly pulling us aside for a small photo op or two that ended up being some of our favorite pictures.

He kept calm through snow, and outside winter engagement shoot, then the hot heat and humidity with a rain pour wedding day! John kept us on time and made sure we got all of the shots we discussed. He has a way of capturing moments and feelings that serve as reminders of exactly what was going through your head and heart in that moment. He captured such candid moments of love between us as a couple that we will truly treasure forever. His photos are very artistic and different from others that we’ve seen. He has amazing ideas for working with light-both natural and his own, and knows how to utilize locations that you are photographed in. My husband does not like having his picture taken, but he was able to be completely himself in front of John’s lens due to the level of comfort John is able to create when taking photos. This was huge for me as I was hoping to capture my husband’s heart on film as I had tried so many times to do myself and just could not. So due to my husband’s ability to then be himself for John’s pictures, I was also able to be myself, and it just made the entire experience fun and relaxed. John was truly able to take photos of us, the us that we are when there are no cameras around, and that is such a gift. Every moment that I was hoping he would capture from our wedding day and then about a million additional memories are now on film for us to look back at anytime we like. He took all suggestions and photo ideas that I had found that I was hoping for, captured those, and then captured so many others that I hadn’t even thought of! During our ceremony, he had a slideshow set up that showed all of our guests the photos that he had taken that day! He even incorporated photos of our childhood, so it was a true progression of our lives from the time we were born until married. Everyone loved getting to see that, and this was something that they hadn’t seen before. John also has a studio that he invites you to look at your photographs in, which I LOVED. It was so much more personal than just a link on the computer (that you will also get, of course). He had our photos back to us very quickly so that we were able to create wedding thank you cards with our photos, and he was just so easy to work with. We feel so blessed that we were able to have John as our photographer to capture our wedding day! His professionalism, artistic eye, and true gift to capture memories of a lifetime are things that we will always treasure when we look at our photographs.

He got our photos back to us within about a week of the wedding (WOW!) and they are stunning. My husband I love his use of lighting and wide lenses, and he actively incorporated that style into our wedding photos. John also does something unique, in that he presents a slideshow of pictures during the reception! It was a treat to see, and our guest were amazed - they'd never seen anyone do that before. We couldn't be more pleased! I highly recommend him to all others looking for a wedding photographer!

chance of rain. John didn't let the rain stop him from capturing the perfect shots. He capture our wedding beautifully. At one point in time I witnessed him ring his suit out because of how soaked he got while capturing the perfect pictures. As a bride dreaming of an outside wedding, rain was the last thing I wanted. I was nervous the rain would compromise the pictures, but with John's talent the rain only enhanced them. John is a true professional and did whatever it took to capture these perfect pictures. At once time even wrapping his camera in towels to keep it dry. John was one of our best investments for our wedding day and I highly recommend using him for all your photography needs.
