From the get-go I had John Hook in mind as a possible photographer for our July wedding and I could not be happier that we were able to have him and Brandon join us on the big day....
My husband and I were not terribly interested in ‘model poses’, instead we wanted to focus on candid shots throughout the day. Being sent the final photos was one of the best gifts we received, John and Brandon captured so many small moments that had completely escaped our view. Everything from the first time my dad saw me, to our mothers holding hands and laughing, to one of the best men making the entire wedding party laugh before a posed photo was meant to happen were incredible to see in print and truly captured the energy of the day.
The two photographers were extremely professional, flexible with our changing schedules, made us laugh and relax in the daunting moments just before the ceremony and took the most dreamy photos during sunset.
In total they sent us nearly 800 photos and we have been hard pressed to narrow down the selection for an album, as each and every one of them is special and beautiful.
For those couples that want the small details and laughs of their wedding captured, you cannot go wrong with John Hook and his team, they are just the best.
John was the best. So easygoing and great to work with. We love him and his photography is gorgeous!

h drive of all of our images. He shipped them in a beautifully wrapped package with creative accents.
John Hook was recommended to us by our wedding videographer. Our videographer suggested a list of photographers for us, and based on some research, we decided to go with John Hook...
because of photo examples I had seen online. The photos I saw online are amazing and I wanted those types of photos for our wedding.
The only setback with John is that he doesn’t respond to emails very well. He is a VERY busy man, who is hired to do a lot of photo shoots. Although, when he does respond to the emails, he is very professional. You would not have to worry about him showing up someplace if you have an appointment/contract with him. We did a consultation, engagement photo shoot, and he spent our wedding day with us. He was always on time for those.
The day before our wedding, we received our engagement photos and they were amazing! He did a GREAT job with those! We appreciate that it was included in the package that we got from him. Since then, we have received some of our wedding photos back, and they are amazing too! We can’t wait to see the rest of the photos from our wedding day!
Besides not responding to emails in a timely manner, I would recommend John Hook because he is nice, professional, and takes AMAZING pictures! He is a busy man and a lot of companies want him to take their pictures! He is in high demand! Besides that, I would hire him again because of the great work that he does!
