From first glance at John’s portfolio, we were very impressed. Then from our very first meeting with John, he was so thorough and thoughtful. He communicated with us throughout our year engagement and didn’t ever make us feel forgotten. John also took our engagement pics and we fell in love! Our session was so much fun, they came out so good and made us comfortable with John before the big day. John was one of the few vendors we had that we never had an ounce of worry or concern about, we knew this one man band had it covered.
The day of our wedding, we were running pretty behind schedule and didn’t get to take some of the pictures we wanted but, felt comfort in knowing our pictures would still come out amazing. AND THEY DID!
John did deliver wedding pics on schedule which was so appreciated!
We are in love with our wedding photos and will forever treasure them. Let John cook and his creative juices will flow. There was no one else who I saw or talked to that compared to John. You will not regret booking with him. 11/10 recommend!!

The oldest is 8 going on 18 and the youngest is 5 and loves the movie Kong vs Godzilla. I absolutely love weddings - they're filled with so much raw emotion. Everyone is dressed to impress and the locations are to die for. It's incredible to play an important role and a true honor to be the one capturing it all. why I say that.
When we first met John, he was quiet, calm, reserved, and completely professional. But he also exuded this confidence in what he does and a genuine love for his craft. When I first saw his portfolio, I knew we needed John Foley on our team to capture our wedding.
After all is said and done, the wedding day ends. The flowers are gone, the dress gets put away, and what you are left with are your memories and your photographs. We knew from the beginning that photography was one of the most important things to us, and we wanted someone we could completely trust with those memories.
John first did our engagement photos, and he was incredibly patient with us. Somehow, in that short amount of time, he also managed to get to know us as a couple. What surprised me most was how little direction he needed from us. John just "knows". He knows where to be, what to capture, how to position you, and somehow anticipates the moments before they even happen.
Then came our wedding day.
John arrived looking like the "jack-of-all-trades of photography", fully equipped and ready for anything, and literally just went to work. I didn't have to think about whether something was being photographed or worry that an important moment might be missed. John was there. He was everywhere he needed to be without ever feeling intrusive, and he captured it all.
And then we received our gallery.
It was perfect.
Looking through our photographs, I could see and feel our wedding day all over again including moments and emotions I didn't even realize he was capturing. His work speaks for itself. There is a reason we call him “THE John Foley.
Photography is so much more than having someone there with a camera. You are trusting someone to preserve one of the most important days of your life. John gave us our memories back in photographs, and that is something we will have forever.

One of the things we appreciated most was his structured approach. He made it a point to ask us who the most important guests were, ensuring he captured key people and different phases of the wedding perfectly. Furthermore, when I showed him a specific style I wanted for our couples' photos, he executed it flawlessly without needing any further explanation or questions.

John was kind, professional, and very organized. He worked so well in the space given to him (it was not big while getting ready) & still the pictures came out beautiful. He knew how to direct people and quickly take portraits. But also was very sneaky and I didnt notice him unless he was directly asking to take a picture.
Most importantly - he goes out of his way to make the picture happen. I lost my father 4 months before my wedding & forgot to take a picture I had in mind between the hustle & bustle - he was able to photoshop/create an image that truly looks like he took it.

ut many of their photos looked "similar." We really loved John's unique, artistic, portrait style of photography.
I reached out to John and loved how he was very responsive and answered all of my questions. He helped us curate our wedding day timeline and also sent a bridal magazine with all of the information that we needed for our wedding day when it came to photography (and the pictures in the magazine were all portraits from weddings that he took as well!).
In terms of preparation before the wedding, we also received forms where John got to learn more about us. We also appreciate that John was available for calls/video calls with us if we ever had any questions :)
On the day of the wedding, John was very prompt and prepared. I'm someone who tends to get stressed easily and knew the wedding day would be stressful, so I appreciated having a photographer who was calm, ready, and helped with posing. After all, after your partner, you'll spend the majority of your wedding day with your photographer!
The day after the wedding, we received previews of our wedding images (talk about a fast turnaround time!!). We received ALL of our wedding images within a 30 day time period as well.
Our wedding photographs weren't just the typical posed images that you would see from the standard wedding photographer - John brought our special day back to life through the portraits that he captured. Many of them are true pieces of art - for example, he was able to use the light from a tiki torch fire from our venue to create a beautiful image.

John is a calm and artistic person who really captures the most beautiful moments. I have never had my picture professionally taken outside school photos or other peoples occasions, so I was very nervous about being the bride, and therefore one of the main people being photographed all day. John got a sneak peak of our wedding photos out within a couple days of the wedding, we were still on our honeymoon, and I was over the moon with joy. The photos are beautiful, and John's style is stunning.
If I had to do it all again I would choose John every time, and you should too. He will immortalize your day in the best ways.

John was with us very early in our planning. He was a joy to work with and his transparency and flexibility meant that we had less to worry about. In the very beginning, we outlined a schedule which John gave us feedback on, and we modified it to allow for extra time during Details & Getting Ready, as well as Bride & Groom Portraits. We HIGHLY recommend slating enough time with John throughout your wedding day for Bride & Groom Portraits. The day goes by in a blur, but we're so happy that we took the time away from all our guests to do some shots with just the two of us.
John was friendly, punctual, and professional. We received our edited photos much quicker than anticipated (~5-6 weeks), considering we had a 2-day wedding. Our family and friends loved going through the photo gallery, and many have expressed wanting to book him for family photos and future weddings. We can't recommend him enough!
