formed our processional, recessional, and during cocktail hour as well. He learned TWO new songs for us, which made our day even more special! We are so happy we were able to have him at our wedding.

sang during cocktail hour which was a unique addition that our guests raved about! During dinner he was not slated to sing, but he ended up singing a song that we had requested previously that he knew we missed during cocktail hour. It was very thoughtful and a special moment. The reception was everything that we could have hoped for, everyone was on the dance floor all night. Joel played a perfect mix of music that kept everyone dancing. We could not recommend Joel enough!!!

ompanied by Ray who was a fantastic violinist. We received many compliments on the ceremony and cocktail hour music. Our dance floor was full all night, and there was a perfect mix of music to fit our vision.

ganized in helping to plan our wedding. He sent us a Google Doc with a large sample schedule, and my husband and I used this throughout the entirety of our wedding planning process to help plan our big day! It had helpful suggestions, sample songs, and many other items that helped us throughout the process. Joel was very responsive and helpful in communication as well. Any questions we asked (even if they were small and silly), were answered with quickness and professionalism. Joel was even willing to do a Zoom meeting with us when our day got closer and this helped clarify any questions. Joel is an amazing performer and singer, and his DJ skills are top notch! For our event, Joel not only DJ’d, but did live performances as well. He learned two songs that we requested and it made our day even more special! He played exactly what we asked him to and made the night fun and exciting. One of our wedding attendees said to me after the ceremony that at one point he thought Joel was playing a recorded track, when in reality he was singing live! Joel’s music really made our day special and perfect in every way! Joel’s wife Amy was our officiant for our big day. She was amazing as well! Amy was incredible to work with and was also very responsive and professional in all our communications. When we met with Amy about 3 months before our wedding, we went over our entire day. Amy made some great suggestions to help enhance our ceremony, one of which was a Lego Unity ceremony which we never heard of. It ended up being one of the highlights of the entire day. Amy arrived an hour before our ceremony to go through it one more time (which really helped calm our nerves!) and really helped the ceremony go off without a hitch. Our Christmas wedding was perfect, and Joel & Amy Lindsay were two of the main reasons why. We HIGHLY recommend them both to DJ and officiate your wedding!

did the planning ourselves). He did a great job abiding by our requests, and he helped the wedding go smoothly making announcements on the microphone. I would hire him again. We love his playing and I encourage anybody who is considering hiring Joel to go see him perform! He seems to have regular dates around Pittsburgh.

vides a Google doc that lays out the whole timeline for the wedding and reception, and covers all the possible things you could have at your wedding or reception, and if you want to do them or not (e.g. do you want to do a cake cutting song, do you want to do a dollar dance, etc.) as well as providing suggestions for songs for all the events. This made the whole music planning process very manageable.  Joel himself is very affable, and very easy to work with; at the last minute we had to change our ceremony location from outdoors to indoors and he was able to relocate all his equipment on a very hot day, and have everything setup and ready to go easily in time for the wedding. We had Joel do a mix of both DJ as well as live performances; for the live performance Joel learned two songs for us that he played during our ceremony and he also played live music during our reception and did an awesome job. As far as his DJing, we received tons of compliments on his music choices which is pretty impressive considering he had to appeal to an age range spanning from 18 to 92!   Finally, Joel brought all his own equipment for the wedding and ceremony, and filled our venue with sound that was very clear, and was doing mixing in real time to made sure everyone was easily heard when having different people at the microphone for things like vows, the toasts, etc. We also purchased the optional uplighting package from Joel, which  for the Aviary we would recommend, as it made the venue look a bit more festive, and added some color in the background to our photographs.

forming live guitar during our ceremony and cocktail hour. His musical talent is incredible, and he brought such a special, personal touch to our day by learning and performing multiple songs that were meaningful to us. Throughout the entire planning process, he was extremely responsive, professional, and accommodating. He made everything feel easy and seamless, which is such a gift when planning a wedding. From start to finish, the music was perfect, and the dance floor was full all night long. If you’re looking for someone who is talented, kind, and truly dedicated to making your wedding day unforgettable, look no further. We’re so grateful we found him!

tely recommend him to anybody, and would happily work with him again!

ail hour, and then the reception. Everything went off without a hitch and the guest had just the best time. Joel is very organized, talented, and professional. We can’t thank him enough for helping to make this special day one that everyone will remember.

beautiful arrangement throughout the night. Joel was very easy to work with. His expertise kept the atmosphere exactly where we wanted it. He also made some welcome edits to make sure the event transitioned well between phases. Joel can do it all, and you can trust him to make it incredible!

play songs to get everyone dancing. He was incredibly easy to work with and provided us a very helpful template to make our day of schedule. We had him sing and play his acoustic guitar during our cocktail hour, and we received many compliments from our guests for his job well done. Day of he was able to adjust to the small changes in the timeline, and his professional attitude and calm presence were much appreciated during some of the more hectic moments. He even put together a little video he shot of us all on the dance floor on his phone; we didn't have a videographer so having some footage to look back on feels very special. We cannot recommend Joel enough!

was highly professional, attentive, and committed to making our day perfect. Joel provided a timeline/questionnaire document, which ensured the entire day flowed easily. We did have some last-minute adjustments to the timeline, but Joel rolled with the punches! Joel provided impeccable audio during our ceremony, ensuring that every word and note was crystal clear for all our guests. The setup and operation meant we didn’t have to worry about a thing. For the cocktail hour, he played acoustic live music that perfectly complemented the ambiance. We received countless compliments from our guests after the wedding, letting us know how much they enjoyed the cocktail hour specifically. Thanks to Joel’s DJ and MC skills, the reception was an absolute blast. He kept the energy high and the dance floor packed all night long! His ability to read the crowd and adjust the music accordingly was impressive. Additionally, he did an excellent job as the MC, ensuring that all key moments were highlighted and that the event flowed smoothly. We are incredibly grateful to Joel for his outstanding service and for making our wedding day unforgettable. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a top-notch wedding vendor who will exceed your expectations in every way.

ent after compliment about him all evening, including by friends in the wedding industry; we truly enjoyed the ambiance he created. Highly recommend!

ive, and his planning form is incredibly detailed, which allowed us to really be thoughtful and intentional about which songs we wanted played throughout the day and night. Fast forward to the wedding itself - we are STILL getting compliments about how amazing our wedding music was. Joel played the guitar and sang during our processional, cocktail hour, and for our first dance - he even learned two songs for us, which was super special. Once the dance floor opened he played hit after hit - I've never been to a wedding where literally every single person got out of their seats to dance for the first song, but Joel is just magic. He did such a good job of reading the room and reading us as a couple - he knew exactly what songs to play to keep the party going. On top of all of that - Joel took some great videos of the dance floor that we will cherish for years to come. We are SO thankful that we booked Joel - having a DJ who is also an incredibly talented musician is such a great combination - would highlyyyyy recommend booking him!

e convinced that half of the songs were specifically requested by us!

highly recommend!

. He performed live on acoustic guitar during our cocktail hour and dinner, and he was amazing! He learned two of our favorite songs (at no additional cost) and we were blown away. When he transitioned to DJing at the reception, he kept the energy up and our dance floor was packed. His kindness and expertise were so appreciated. We are so grateful that we found him!

many compliments on how great he sounded! He kept the party alive and listened to all of our requests. The best part of our night was when Joel sang and played guitar for our first dance. We were interested in doing a song that did not totally fit for a first dance (All My Life), but Joel learned it for us (free of charge) and it was even better than the original. He sent us a video of him singing and playing it a few weeks after we asked for it initially. Everyone loved this special touch to our wedding day. Joel was so professional and so easy to work with!

ny, cocktail hour, and for special dances. Joel executed for our reception flawlessly, he kept the wedding running smooth, played good music, and was awesome to work with. I hired Joel to run the show and that’s exactly what he did. I provided a small do not play list and an idea of the vibe I wanted. Not only did the dance floor stay packed all night, my favorite songs were played (no requests needed), and Joel made good music decisions. I couldn’t have asked for a better musician, MC, and DJ! We did add uplighting and an accompanying musician. Joel is the full package. If you’re on the fence about hiring Joel, I recommend viewing his public performance calendar on his website. You can go watch Joel perform live before booking and you will want place your down payment the same day! Reasonable and wonderful!! Thank you so much, Joel!!

hour and didn't have enough nice things to say about Joel and the bassist who accompanied him!!! The music he played during the reception was perfect to keep people out on the dance floor, and a lot of our guests stayed till the end at 11:30. It was a great experience working with Joel, and made sure everything ran smoothly.

ng (his British accent was extra fun!), lighting, setup, performed live for ceremony and cocktail hour, wedding party intro, DJ'd the dance party....all of this for a crazy reasonable price. And did I mention, he is SO TALENTED?? The guests loved him. Can't recommend him highly enough.

the right times so the dance floor was never empty! We would absolutely recommend Joel to anyone. Joel was amazing to work with. He was very responsive and gave us suggestions and ideas when we were indecisive. Joel got to know us on a personal level and made sure to stop and say hi when we would go out to watch him at his different playing locations. I cannot wait to continue to watch him play live.

getting married in the Pittsburgh area!

as always going strong. Not a single song flopped! Joel also worked in our song requests seamlessly. No song felt out of place. If we ever need a DJ again we're hiring Joel for sure!

to see him perform in the city and he took the time to chat with us in between songs about our upcoming wedding... this meant SO much to us. The day of, he performed acoustic during cocktail hour and Mc'd/Dj'd during the reception. His song selections were perfect and everyone had SO much fun on the dance floor. Can't recommend him enough. Thanks Joel!

day. I could not be more satisfied with how the day went. I received many compliments from our guests about Joel's talent and music choices as well as Amy's wonderful story telling ability.

or videographer's portfolio. Joel did not disappoint. He is easy to work with and provided hours worth of great dance songs that kept my dance floor packed. Many guests commented on his DJing saying there wasn't a single song that was a 'flop'. The added bonus is that he will play acoustic during your cocktail hour which is a really lovely touch. I would recommend Joel to a friend!

learned 2 songs free of cost for us and ended up performing our first dance. We first saw Joel perform at Riley's Pour House years ago and had no idea he did this for weddings! You could say it was love at first live performance sight! HIGHLY recommend him to anyone who looking for the perfect combination of live music and DJ!

beforehand too!

picked two new songs for our first dance and father/daughter dance and he sang and played acoustic guitar absolutely beautifully. He also adjusted the music to what would get people on the dance floor, and had great lights that really added to the vibe. He played guitar for cocktail hour as well which was great ambience after the ceremony. As an added bonus, we’ve gotten many compliments on his accent 😂

that was because of the DJ. Of course we had to get his information and book him for our wedding. Joel was such a pleasure to work with. So friendly, thorough, and excellent at his job. From the second he opened the dance floor the dancing did not stop. Everyone danced for hours and everyone still talks about how fun our wedding was. The day wouldn’t have even as fun if it wasn’t for Joel. Thank you Joel for making our day so special!

rfect day and timeline! He was wonderful to meet in person and work with. We had Joel play acoustic guitar for our ceremony and he learned a song for us for our recession. It was everything we dreamed of! He also played guitar and sang during cocktail hour and it was so nice to have live music during that! He helped get the bridal party lined up and sure of where to go in our venue for the entrance as well. Such a nice and professional DJ and he really kept the party going all night long! We are so glad we went with him. And if you are looking for an officiant; don’t even hesitate to book Amy. These two are literally a power couple!! They went above and beyond for us on our wedding day! Amy met with us prior to our wedding to help formulate our ceremony and make it custom to our wishes and make it really special to us. We left our meeting just absolutely over the moon excited for our day to get here. And the day of it was literally perfect! Everything went so smoothly and was beautiful. We also invited her to join us for dinner and she was helping us every step of the way post ceremony. I had accidentally put my fun sunglasses for the entrance in the reception area and she heard me say that. Before it was even time for us to enter she had them to me! She also made sure my veil got to our get ready area so I was sure to get it at the end of the night. Both Joel and Amy were so extremely thoughtful and attentive to every detail of our day. We have received nothing but compliments from our family and friends. Cory and I thank you both so very much! Book both Joel and Amy!! You seriously will not be disappointed!!

ve performances, and our dance floor was packed all night. I would highly recommend him for any wedding!

ion of performing the parent dances. That was so special, and having the live performance wowed our guests. Not only was Joel an amazing musician and DJ, but the planning process was so easy. We were able to plan everything through email/GDoc and I appreciated how succinct and easy that was. We also hired Amy to be our officiant, and she knocked it out of the park. First of all, we would have never put together the ceremony we had on our own. Amy's ideas brought everything together and created a beautiful ceremony including readings, poems as our vows, and the wine box ceremony. This was all planned beforehand of course, but then to hear Amy's delivery on the day brought everything to a new level. Both Amy and Joel ran through everything with us and the bridal party before the wedding, and it was perfect! We thank you so much!

ing process was simple and straightforward. As a musician, Joel worked with us to select the perfect acoustic guitar music for our ceremony and reception. When he switched gears to MC/DJ, he kept the energy up in the crowd while keeping us on schedule! And as our officiant, Amy captured the exact mood and feel we wanted for our wedding ceremony. My husband and I were very impressed with her fun, professional, and personable approach.

the reception. He even learned our first dance song so he could perform it for us, and it was perfect! Joel sounded amazing live and he kept the dance floor going all night long! He also provided the up lighting during the reception, and it really enhanced the atmosphere. Joel was easy to work with, professional, organized, and quick to respond to any questions/emails. We highly recommend Joel to anyone looking to hire an organized, professional, experienced, and extremely talented DJ/musician who will keep your guests entertained all day/night long! Thanks again for everything Joel!

needed, yet SO FUN later on! Highly recommend his services!

en DJed the reception. We did have him do our first dance live which made it extra sweet and loving. He even sent us videos of live songs if we wanted to hear how he would sing it. Additionally, Joel's planning document that he has you complete helped me construct like 80% of my day-of timeline which was SUPER helpful for me from a planning/timing perspective. He has lots of experience and helped provide advice and guidance throughout the entire process.

sure to work with him. I highly recommend you have him at your wedding!!

e personal touches. I would recommend Amy to anyone getting married.

ts have been raving about his music selections. Even where we made an error in our forms, Joel was easygoing and understanding to fix our mistake before wedding party announcements. An unanticipated feature was that Joel performed a few songs live throughout dinner -- he was wonderful! On top of all of that, Joel was so kind and thoughtful during the planning process and on our wedding day. My husband and I are so glad that we booked Joel for our wedding. There is not a better DJ for events and weddings in the Pittsburgh area.

earned a new song for us Love by John Lennon it was amazing! He is very talented and the nicest person! We all were very happy with his services and everyone mentioned to us how great everything was! Also, we hired his wife Amy to be our officiant and she is the sweetest and most caring person! They both made sure everything was extremely organized and went smoothly! They helped make the day so memorable! I highly recommend both of them for your wedding!

His charismatic energy and awesome choice of tunes helped keep everyone on the dance floor all night. Joel was great to communicate with before, during, and after our event. Again, we HIGHLY recommend his services at any wedding.

An added bonus is we also hired his wife Amy as our officiant, used his uplighting in the venue, AND hired his videographer all in one - so convenient! If you’re planning a wedding, Joel is the way to go!!
