JL Makeup Studio and Beauty Boutique

g their hair and make up done I was worried we would have to start the process really early. That was not the case. She brought 5 people to do hair and makeup for all 14 people from 10am-2pm.  That being said, it did not feel rushed in the slightest. They took their time to perfect each hair style and get each make up look just right. They gave me extra supplies to do touch up throughout the night, but honestly it wasn’t even needed. Everything stayed soooooo well. I had SEVERAL of my people tell me after the fact that this was their “favorite hair style” they have ever gotten for a wedding and “best makeup I have ever received.”  I am SO glad that I went to Jae Lee on such an important day. Like I mentioned, so well organized and the results were STUNNING! Thank you again for making us all feel beautiful on the day of my wedding Carolyn

atural yet polished on camera, and she’s an expert at it. She’s always professional, punctual, and makes my clients feel comfortable and confident. I truly value having her as part of my team and highly recommend her!

ahead of schedule. Before leaving, they made sure to touch everyone up so we were all picture-perfect for the big day. I couldn’t have asked for a better team. I highly recommend them to any bride looking for a stress-free and flawless experience!

their chair, Joy and her artists instantly make them feel comfortable, confident, and pampered. They have an amazing ability to enhance natural beauty while keeping everyone looking like themselves — just the best, most polished version. Whether it’s a senior who’s never had professional makeup done before or or the senior who has, Joy and her team take the time to listen, personalize each look, and make the experience fun, relaxed, and uplifting. Their work photographs beautifully every single time — skin looks flawless, eyes pop, and the makeup stays perfect throughout the entire session. I’m so grateful for their professionalism, talent, and kind hearts. They’re a huge part of the FotoFixation experience, and I can’t recommend them enough! 💄

the wedding day! Communication and quality of services were great - would highly recommend!

re responsive and answered all of my questions. Jae, Carolynn, and Nikki were my day of team. They brought all of our hair and makeup visions come to life! We were so pampered and relaxed as we spent the morning getting ready. Their attention to detail, and taking the time to understand each girl's visions and concerns ensured that we all felt our absolute best. Our hair and makeup stayed all night long through laughs, tears, humidity, and a packed dance floor!

trial and she was so nice on our wedding day. I have very thick hair and was very nervous about it, but my curls lasted throughout my entire wedding. The 2nd hair stylist that was there at our wedding did a nice job, however, it did feel like she rushed through some of the girls hair which required some touch ups later on. Otherwise, I would recommend JL and if you can, get Mandy!

tary of the work that they did. The hair and makeup stayed in place throughout the entire day! I would highly recommend using them as your wedding vendor!

our makeup and the final result! Joy kept on top of everything and ensured that things ran smoothly on the big day, while having fun and making everyone look so gorgeous!!

oking naturally gorgeous. Highly recommend!

up, and they were both absolutely amazing. Katrina created the most beautiful hairstyle! It stayed perfectly in place all day and night without feeling heavy or overdone. Joy gave me that flawless, glowing look while still making sure I looked like myself. She struck the perfect balance between glam and natural, which is exactly what I wanted. The makeup photographed beautifully and didn’t budge, even through all the happy tears and dancing! Beyond their talent, Katrina, Joy, and the whole team were such a calming presence the morning of the wedding. They were friendly, professional, and made the whole getting-ready process feel relaxed and fun. I got so many compliments on my hair and makeup, and I felt absolutely amazing all day. My mom, mother-in-law, and all of my bridesmaids felt the same! I’ll definitely be going back to JL Studio for all of my future professional hair and makeup needs. Highly, highly recommend Katrina, Joy, and the entire team!

beautiful! They made my vision come to life and I have never felt as beautiful as I did that day!

JL studios took the time to get to know us and personalize our experience as much as possible. They did an impeccable job with the whole party’s hair/makeup, and they truly catered to the style we wanted; communication and day of coordination was seamless. I could not recommend JL Studio more!! <3

hey do but are so caring and an absolute pleasure to work with.

nd fun to talk to.

remely caring team.

well and was happy I did so I could make adjustments/wasn't worried about how anything would turn out day of. All of my bridesmaids, my mom, and my mother in law were so happy with their results. We all felt like like we looked glam and amazing but still like ourselves.

el even more special. Leading up to the wedding, the team was incredibly easy to work with and very accommodating, helping me make adjustments during the planning process to ensure everything was perfect. On the big day, Mandy did my hair and Moriah did my makeup, and they were both specifically exceptional. They perfectly executed the styles I requested, bringing my vision to life with such skill and attention to detail. Their professionalism shone through in every aspect, and they were fantastic at keeping everything on schedule. My makeup and hair lasted beautifully throughout the long day of celebrations, which is a true testament to their expertise. I highly recommend JL Makeup Studio and Beauty Boutique to anyone looking for talented and reliable hair and makeup artists!

were efficient, caring, and were so on top of their schedule, we got AN HOUR ahead!!! I’ve never seen anything like it, it was incredible! These ladies sure know how to make everyone feel the joy all prep long, and I can’t recommend them enough! Thank you JL ladies, we appreciate you!!

ll of the sweat and tears! I've never felt more beautiful. They made my wedding makeup dreams come true. I highly recommend!

a makeup girlie and I am pretty particular about my hair, but Joy/Katrina’s openness and willingness to ensure everything was perfect really put me at ease. There were multiple trials and even the day of they were very kind about some tweaks that I wanted to make. The makeup was stunning—a beautiful, natural glam look that felt just right. The hair was glamorous and was just what I wanted in the end! Additionally, they were very easy to contact throughout the process. Highly recommended!

l and was fast to respond to questions and changes to our day-of timeline. She absolutely killed it on wedding day and everyone LOVED how their styles turned out. She listened attentively to what each person wanted and perfectly recreated our inspo pictures. Even though our wedding day was in 90+ degree heat, my glam waves stayed in all day and night. Booking Carolynn for your big day is an absolute no brainer!!!

suggestions that complemented me and the overall theme of the wedding so well. On the big day, they both immediately got to work on the girls and were so calm making sure that everything ran smoothly and efficiently. I even made a last minute change to my hairstyle from my trial and Caroline walked me through it and was prepared to do anything I threw at her. Not only did she create a flawless hairstyle, completely different then what we did for my trial, but both my hair and makeup lasted throughout the entire event. Both Caroline and Jae Lee also managed to keep me calm and relaxed no matter what. I received so many compliments from guests about how stunning my hair and makeup looked, and I owe it all to Caroline and Jae Lee. They both truly went above and beyond to make sure I felt like the most beautiful version of myself on my special day.

ecommend them!

stunning! I have never felt more beautiful in my whole life thanks to Joy and Dana. If you want to feel confident and beautiful on your wedding day, JL Studio will make it HAPPEN!!

lly wants to know your true feelings about her work and if there's anything you don't love! When it came to the wedding day, all of my bridesmaids had nothing but amazing things to say about her and how talented she is. She had a second stylist assistant who was new to her and the company I believe, and she did VERY cute work it just seemed to be missing some final touches and loose pieces that fell. Carolynn made time and meticulously went back and adjusted those things, and I really appreciated her time management and attention to detail! She also worked seamlessly with our makeup artists. They said they never collaborated before, and you would have never known!!!

at said, I am only leaving 3 out of 5 stars due to their customer service the day of. Rarely do I like to leave somewhat negative reviews, but this aspect of their service has really bothered me since my wedding. Although polite and sociable at times, they appeared as though they just wanted to finish the job as quickly as possible and leave. Like, it was a burden to be there. At one point, the owners of the venue also needed the their vehicles moved, because they lived on the property, and Jae and team gave a lot of attitude and push back in doing so. They said they'll move when they feel like moving, essentially. Which, was completely unprofessional. I also paid for nice makeup and hair for my mother and grandmother, and felt like they did the bare minimum for my mom, and I was not a fan of my grandmothers makeup. My wishes as the bride, were for my mom to have an updo (something she could not do herself -- hence paying for fancy hair/makeup). Anyways, she has a tendency to hide behind her hair, and so knowing her as well as I do, I relayed that I wanted it up and out of her face-- especially for my wedding. Then, when I was preoccupied, the stylist told her "do whatever you want to do" and only straightened her hair -- and not very well at that. I get the impression, they did that because it was easier for them too. Nevertheless, I've also seen both my grandma and mom do better makeup than what was done for them. I could have asked my sisters to do their hair and makeup if I knew it was going to turn out like that. I wanted to honor them and make them feel amazing. Especially since my mom has not done anything to pamper herself ever and with how hard she's had it the past several years. Anyways, to me, their look that day was almost as important as mine. They did not look their best, whatsoever. I was very disappointed. Lastly, they need to clearly define what they consider a flower girl is. Our flower girl was 14 yrs old -- and after reviewing their brochure, she would have qualified for free makeup. I relayed to them prior to that day, that I'd have a flower girl that they needed to do makeup for. The day of however, they told us after her makeup was done, that we owed them for a junior bridesmaid's makeup. The last thing a bride needs, is to worry about last minute expenses and lack of clarity. That to me, was bad business. Brides, keep record of your payments and who you've paid for services for, so this doesn't happen. Also, print out their brochures so you are an informed client in case this happens to you, with any vendor! I'll end with saying again -- I feel like I was taken care of. So, they did well with that. That said, I would just hope that after they read this review, they pay more attention to what the bride voices are her desires, because after all it is her day. They shouldn't just try to get in, get out, and get going -- skimping where they can. Also, I hope they read this with an understanding to be better guests on someone else's property, to provide prompt clarification, and of the importance of being upbeat and better company. Jae engaged in conversation and was really nice to my mom. That said, as some of the first people the bride or bridal party sees, they've got to be better with setting the tone

bridal jitters and overanalyzing everything, they helped me stay calm and listened to me so well!

e around, and she did a great job on my bridesmaids and I. I quite literally couldn't ask for anything more from her because she effortlessly did everything right.

sts I've ever worked with. She was really patient and understanding during my trial and went the extra mile to make sure we pinned down exactly the look I wanted. She was a pro during the wedding day as well and got everything done in half the time we had budgeted. I was so happy with how I looked at my wedding and the photos from that day are a real joy to look back on. If you need a makeup artist in the Pittsburgh area - go with Moriah!! You will be so happy you did.

esmaids loved her as well. Thank you so much for making our getting ready experience amazing!

end her one million times over!!

n-laws hair and makeup too! I am so happy with their services and can’t thank them enough for being part of our special day. I’m so happy with their services and recommend them for any weddings and special events!

n, and I loved the experience she had with them, so I used the same company (different girls) and had the same wonderful experience. I also booked Jeni and Dana for my engagement photos, which happened to be the hottest day of the year. We had a heat index of 105 and I was convinced my hair wasn't going to hold a curl and that my makeup would be streaking down my face in a matter of minutes. I was SHOCKED when my hair held and continued to hold, and my makeup didn't run. My hair and makeup held up for 1.5 hours in 105 degree heat without an issue. After that experience, I wasn't worried about my wedding day at all, I knew we would be in great shape. The day of my wedding, Jeni and Dana showed up on time and ready to go. We had myself, 5 bridesmaids, my mom, and my aunt to get various combinations of hair and make up done. Everything ran so smoothly and efficiently, I didn't have to worry about time once. They knocked everything out of the park and had time to do touch ups along the way. Everyone's hair and make up held throughout the day and night, and they all looked so stunning. I can not recommend Jeni and Dana enough!

d promptly on time on our wedding day and kept us on schedule. Our hair and makeup held up the entire day even with the heat and humidity. On top of their exceptional skills, they brought a fun energy to the whole process. I highly recommend Jae and Carolynn!

th Allison and she did a lovely job. I loved being able to have a trial a couple months beforehand and explain my vision of what I wanted my hair to look like on my big day. She was very communicative and timely and my mom, bridesmaids, and I all loved how our hair turned out on our big day!

y with getting my hair done! Having wavy/curly hair, I was so nervous that my hair would be brushed out like so many other stylists do. Emma didn't once brush my hair out and elevated my natural texture which is everything I wanted and more. Jae is so sweet and a pleasure to work with! Getting ready that morning, they both made it so easy and I was so happy with the overall look. Also loved how Jae talked about Scandoval with me when I was getting ready, it just made me feel like a friend I've known for years was doing my makeup. I'm so glad I booked them for my wedding!

ek of my wedding. My makeup laid flawlessly on my face. 10/10 could not recommend them enough!

ed for me and everything came together beautifully. My mom likes her makeup so much!! My look is just the way I wanted. Our wedding day went seamlessly and I was able to relax because I was very confident in her taste!

appreciated how she was able to keep the makeup simple but elegant. I would highly recommend this studio and Victoria to anyone. Very reliable and wonderful service.

whole process. By the time wedding day came, not only did they work absolute magic with all of our hair and makeup, but they kept the morning going so smoothly. We were actually done with hair and makeup before schedule because of how efficient they were (and they did not make us feel like we were rushing at all). The girls are so sweet, kind, and amazing to work with. I am so glad I went with them and recommend them to everyone!!

es. We all received so many compliments on our hair and makeup. I felt so beautiful and confident the whole day, and that was in large part due to their hard work and incredible skill. ❤️

d my bridesmaids all done ahead of schedule and everyone looked stunning! They were so easy to talk to and joke with they definitely helped calm my nerves. They went above and beyond and I HIGHLY recommend them!

ce, personable, and made the morning enjoyable! I got so many compliments on my hair and makeup, it stayed perfect ALL night! I felt SO beautiful and it was the best makeup I have ever seen on myself! Thank you for making me and my girls feel beautiful on my wedding day 💗💗
