About this vendor
Whether you are looking for a small jazz piano trio or a full jazz orchestra I have you covered. My name is Jim Lower and I run the Jim Lower Jazz Orchestra, a big band in Kansas City that meets every Tuesday. Because I run a big band it is easy for you to decide exactly what you want at your event and I can assemble the perfect jazz group for your event from the musicians in the big band. I can also add a vocalist to any combination of musicians.
The small groups, specifically the piano trio, focus solely jazz standards sang by vocalists such as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Nat "King" Cole. We can stretch as far as you'd like and go any direction, but we like to stick to familiar tunes that anyone can enjoy.

I had a jazz trio for my wedding and WOW. They were amazing. Cannot recommend them enough! It was the perfect ambiance and made the whole event feel very classy.
Jim Lower and his band blew us away with their responsiveness and calm, easy going attitudes. They played for our wedding reception and created the perfect ambiance for the classy ...
wedding we were striving for. We made a special request for our first dance song. We asked if they could mash three different songs together. This did not phase them in the slightest and we were in awe with how perfect their performance was.

mbiance for the event. Due to covid, we had to reschedule from May to November and they accommodated us without hesitation. Everything was seamless, professional and the music was great! Highly recommend
We loved Jim Lower and his trio! We booked them to play jazz following dinner, so guests would have a reason to linger after dessert. (We knew we didn't want a DJ/ipod dance party....
) Jim's trio was perfect! Our guests loved their music, chatting and waltzing under the stars. Our out-of-towners were especially excited to get a taste of Kansas City's famous jazz scene. Jim was a true professional, prompt, personable and flexible. Could not recommend more highly!
