Jem made the entire process feel personal from the very beginning. Her planning materials and detailed questionnaire were incredibly helpful, and it was clear early on that she is ...
an expert. By the time our wedding day arrived, she somehow understood our vision even better than we did. She has a rare ability to find the perfect balance between candid and posed. She captured moments exactly as they unfolded, while still maintaining a polished, timeless feel. Her photos feel real, emotional, and effortlessly beautiful.
She moved quietly and naturally, never pulling focus, yet was somehow present for every meaningful interaction. She handled tricky family dynamics with professionalism and grace, and gently kept things on track without adding any stress. Throughout the day, her focus was always on us as a couple.
Jem has an incredibly warm and caring presence, and working with her was an absolute joy. We couldn’t recommend her more highly and will absolutely be recommending her to our friends and family.
Jem is just that—a gem! ✨ She was actually the very first vendor we chose when we started planning our wedding, and we are SO glad we did. From our very first meeting, Jem made us ...
feel completely at ease and truly understood the vibe we wanted to capture.
On our wedding day, she was incredible at finding and preserving the most intimate, meaningful moments, the ones that we want to remember forever. What amazed us most is her ability to seamlessly “blend in” with the flow of the day. She made us feel so comfortable and natural in front of the camera, which let us just be ourselves while she worked her magic.
Jem has such a gift for capturing not only beautiful portraits, but also the little candid in-between moments that tell the whole story of the day. Looking through our photos feels like reliving every laugh, every tear, and every joyful detail all over again.
We couldn’t have asked for a more talented, calming, and thoughtful photographer. Jem gave us memories we’ll treasure forever. We recommend her a thousand times over!
I’m beyond thrilled that I booked Jem as my wedding photographer! Prior to the wedding, she was incredibly communicative and thoughtful. She even sent us a package with a gift and ...
information about the process. Not only is she incredibly talented, but she fit in so seamlessly with my friends and family that, by the end of the night, I was hugging her like she was one of us. As a couple, you spend a lot of time with your photographer on your wedding day, so it's important to choose someone you’re comfortable with—and Jem is exactly who you want by your side. Her artistry and warm personality made our day that much more special. I can’t recommend her enough!
I truly cannot hype Jem up enough!! She is the most incredible photographer and is such a lovely and fun person that guests at our wedding assumed she was our friend who we asked t...
o take pictures for us! We did both an engagement shoot and our wedding with her and the photos from both turned out absolutely incredible. She really understood our vision and the pictures capture everything we wanted: decor, colors, energy, and especially the pure joy we felt on our wedding day. She was so on top of our timeline and we were through family and bridal party portraits in no time (which was important to us) and any time we left for private portraits, it felt like a fun escape from the craziness to soak in the excitement of being married. She really made everything fun! She also has such important insights about small details of the wedding day, taking a moment for just ourselves after the ceremony and encouraging us to do a private last dance after our reception which honestly was one of the highlights of the entire day (in both photos and happiness). Guests are still complimenting us on her energy and raw talent after seeing the photos. If you’re still looking for your perfect photographer, LOOK NO FURTHER!
We hired Jem to be our photographer for our wedding in Westchester in August 2022 and we are SO happy that we did! We absolutely loved her and she was incredible to work with from ...
beginning to end.
Prior to the wedding day, we were able to negotiate with Jem to get the right package that we needed and later on, she helped us set up our timeline and plan out our entire day. We didn’t have a wedding planner so this help was such a crucial aspect of our day and we’re not sure what we would have done without her!! On the day of, she arrived early, helped us stick to our timeline and was really flexible throughout the day, which allowed us to get all of our details photographed by the time we needed them done. My wife and I were both super stressed out on the wedding day but Jem was such a calming and comforting presence that made us both feel SO MUCH better. She let us guide the day and do things exactly as we wanted them done. Throughout the entire wedding, her and her second shooter did such an incredible job of blending in that we hardly even noticed they were there. We really didn’t want the wedding to feel like a paparazzi situation and even though she stuck to the background, you certainly can’t tell from the wedding album!! Our photos are not generic or basic at all — they are all pieces of art and some of them look as if they were shot by a photojournalist. We truly can’t get over the level of Jem’s skill and just how incredible she is at creating stunning, impactful photography. While we did want that fly on the wall look, our one note is that we only received a handful of shots where we were both looking at the camera during our portrait session and the ones we do have are from far away. We would’ve liked to have a traditional, posed portrait that was taken from a close distance and we were surprised we didn’t receive that. We are still absolutely thrilled with her work but if that’s something you want, ask for it and make sure it gets done!
Overall, Jem wasn’t just a vendor for us, she was a critical part of our wedding and it would not have been the same without her — not just for the photos, but for how much she supported my wife and I on our day. She is so much more than just a photographer and anyone would be lucky to work with her. When we get ready to start a family, we hope we will be able to use Jem for our maternity shoot and for all of the other big life moments we have ahead. Thank you again for everything, Jem. Lots of love.
Jem was one of the most valuable members of our vendor team! Experienced and knowledgeable, she guided us as relative amateurs through the steps of preparing and executing the day ...
we had planned. We appreciated her professionalism balanced with great humor and genuine excitement – even though she does hundreds of weddings, she still made us feel special. We felt so relaxed taking photos with her on what could have been a much more stressful day. We have already been to one close friend’s wedding where Jem was the photographer, and we are looking forward to more in the future.
I am literally sitting here choked up trying to find the words to express how absolutely amazing Jem is! It is clear to see she is extremely talented in her profession - but what i...
sn't clear when looking at her portfolio is how fun, professional, and badass she truly is. To say things were running behind on my wedding day would be an understatement - and with out Jem there I think I would have been an absolute wreck. She kept me calm, laughing, and assured the entire day. She was firm with the other vendors and guests to get people moving to where they would be. Basically Jem was also our coordinator with out actually being hired as our coordinator LOL - and I don't know what I would have done with out her that day! We have only received our sneak peeks so far - but I already cherish every single photo she has sent over. They are absolutely BEAUTIFUL! My husband and I are not the most natural in front of the camera but she kept us laughing - and on top of how happy we were that day - you can really see the joy shine through in every single photo. People keep commenting how I "clearly had no fun that day" in sarcasm when they see the photos because we are both smiling ear to ear in every single one. She had so many wonderful ideas for photos - and worked with the insane heat wave we were experiencing to make sure everyone wasn't fully melting by the time photos were over. I will hire Jem over and over again - she will be my family photographer until the end of days because there is no one as amazing as she is! THANK YOU JEM for everything! We truly love you!!!!
Last weekend, I had a boudoir shoot with Jem and it was AMAZING. I cannot stress enough how awesome it was. Jem made me feel totally comfortable throughout the session, and I left ...
feeling so empowered! She is an incredible hype woman. She sent me sneak peaks the next day, and they are so perfect. I can’t wait to see the full gallery, and I can’t wait for Jem to photograph our wedding in August! Run, don’t walk, to book a boudoir session!!!
I instantly fell in love with Jem’s work the first time I came across her website. We knew we wanted to book Jem for our wedding immediately after meeting her. She is super down to...
earth and always made us feel comfortable during the stressful moments of wedding planning. We felt like we would be super awkward in front of the camera, but Jem made everything go so smoothly! She even braved an 11 degree January morning for our engagement shoot! I would definitely recommend Jem to everyone! I’d give her a million stars if I could!
Jem is a GEM! :) It’s been an absolute pleasure to have her as our wedding photographer (for both our civil wedding and delayed wedding celebration). I was so nervous on the day of...
our wedding, and Jem’s presence and her relaxed yet very professional approach made me feel so comfortable and most importantly to be myself. The photos are perfect, and we love love love the candid shots. 10/10. We highly recommend Jem, she is so great to work with and cannot thank her enough for making our day extra special!
Jem is simply the best. If you're thinking about booking her, you absolutely should, and should do so quickly! Besides being insanely talented, she is also so kind and just really ...
freaking cool. It’s hard for me to articulate how thankful my husband and I are for being able to work with her—I just can’t imagine anyone else in this universe taking our engagement and wedding photos.
Being photographed can be really awkward, but Jem makes it fun and easy. and manages to make everyone look really, really, REALLY good. Besides our engagement session and wedding, we've also used her for Christmas card photos and a short photoshoot just for fun. I’m sure we’ll continue to use her for mini shoots going forward. Jem is very conversational, gives easy to understand instructions, and honestly makes you forget you’re even being photographed. She has a really special way of capturing meaningful moments and small details—if you’re looking for photos that make you feel something and capture the authenticity of the moment, Jem’s the one.
Working with Jemima was an absolute dream! I found her through Instagram and as I read through her website, I just knew she was the wedding photographer for me. She is an absolute ...
professional who was so easy to work with and communicative from the initial inquiry all the way to the delivery of our wedding gallery. On the actual day, she will go above and beyond for you - just like a friend. She gave sneak peeks the day after the wedding and our full gallery after 4 weeks which is AMAZING. But when I saw the photographs she took of our day, I shed tears of happiness! She captured all the PERFECT moments and I barely even noticed her taking them! We had a church wedding and she was absolutely professional and reverent to church decorum!
Planning a small wedding during a pandemic can still be stressful but Jem was so flexible when it came to last-minute changes. As a bride on a budget, photography was my highest priority/splurge but Jem's packages are priced so fairly especially for what you get!
Long story short: She is an absolute professional who is also friendly and on your side. Her photography was absolutely stunning. I would highly recommend her to any bride out there looking for a wedding photographer.
Jemima is amazing! From my initial inquiry, to her patience with some last minute plans, she was so easy to work with. My partner and I hired her for a session and she made us feel...
so comfortable and she captured a ton of gorgeous images. We wanted our shoot to be authentic and rich and her shots and editing delivered just that! We received a sneak peek of the images a few days later and the final images came back much faster than expected. If you are looking for a chill photographer who creates beautiful photos at a fair price, call Jem. I’m currently wracking my brain for another excuse to book her!
I am deeply and whole heartedly convinced Jemima is a MIRACLE WORKER!!!! Our wedding photos are unbelievable. She captured our day in every single perfect way and we couldn’t be ha...
ppier, we are literally gushing over these photos and I can’t stop looking at them! Thank you isn’t big enough, these will be our best memories forever, she is so amazing at what she does, a total professional yet laidback, kind, and a total team player, I really hope we can work together again in the near future ♥️
She worked with us through the pandemic times and made our special day that much better!! She is very personable and works with you where you are at. Couldn’t sing higher praises!

mfortable people in front of the camera but both Jemima and Dylan made us feel at ease. They are helpful, talented and also hilarious. They captured beautiful candids as well as posed photos. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Awesome couple. Awesome photos. Awesome photographers.
The only thing I knew I wanted on my wedding day was really great photos... oh yeah, and maybe to marry my best friend :) no seriously, I was ready to elope-completely alone- but m...
y fiancé wanted a more traditional wedding. This coupled with the fact that my dad has been talking about walking me down the aisle for as long as I could remember got me searching all over for the best vendors- and boy, I definitely found the best when I found jem! She was truly amazing. My husband and I are innately shy and uncomfortable around most people but our time with jem was more like hanging out with a really good friend then anything else. She made us feel at ease, we had tons of fun, and the photos were better then I could have ever dreamed of. Stop, don’t go any further- jem will be the best decision you make on your wedding day for sure (except for the whole “I do” part that is!)
Jemima was the absolute best! She was sweet, professional, and made the entire experience seamless for us. Our pictures were perfect and we could not have asked for a better day ...
with Jem and her husband, Dylan. Thank you for capturing our best and funniest moments - it truly was everything!
Jemima is AMAZING! Leading up to our wedding she was super professional and communicative – we have a great kick-off call so she could learn more about us as a couple, she asked us...
exactly what we wanted/expected for our big day, and she clearly communicated so I trusted that everything was taken care of and didn't have to worry.
The day of, she was even better. She was friendly and relaxed (even when dealing with wrangling family) and was willing to do whatever it took to get the photos we wanted (we got married in Boston and dragged her all over the city taking pictures). During the wedding I barely even noticed when she was around taking photos.
And our photos are awesome – we love, love, love them. She perfectly captured us as a couple and the vibe of our wedding day. The gallery she delivered was extensive with so many great shots to choose from: beautiful portraits, fun candids, and all the important moments from our wedding.
We loved working with Jemima and I would highly, highly recommend. I really can't say enough good things.
I have no idea where to begin my praise for Jemima Richards. She was referred to us by our friend (who also worked with her for his wedding and raves about her) and I can easily sa...
y she was the best wedding vendor decision my husband and I made. Jemima kept cool under pressure, dealt with the many personalities of our families, and was prepared and punctual. Also, her photos are STUNNING! We loved that our photos don't look stuffy or staged. Jemima was able to capture beautiful moments throughout the wedding and that made all the difference for us. We got our "sneak peak" photos within 24 hours (in fact, maybe even less than that) and the rest of our album was ready just a few short weeks later. Seriously, I can't recommend her highly enough. She's just the best. It's a fact.
Jem was so wonderful to work with! She was funny and fun and didn't have us do any stupid poses. We felt so comfortable working with her and can't wait to get all of our photos bac...

Jemima and her husband Dylan (her wonderful associate photographer who shot our wedding) were absolutely amazing for us from start to finish. Jemima was very communicative and help...
ful before the wedding, and Dylan was so wonderful the day of. Not only are the pictures amazing, but the often tedious experience of getting all the family and wedding party pictures done was both fun and efficient with Dylan. We had a great time working with them and I definitely recommend Jemima (and Dylan) to anyone looking for a photographer!!
From the first message we sent her to having her dance with us as she was heading out for the night, having her there was like having an old friend with us. Able to direct the came...
ra shy, able to calm the nerves, and able to intuitively know where to be and what to shoot, she was the best decision we could have made for our wedding. The amount of sheer joy she was able to capture in our photos is something we’ll be cherishing for the rest of our days. We are so grateful for what she was able to give us and so thankful that this was more than a business transaction - we made a long-time friend.
Jemima and her husband Dylan were more than wedding photographers, it truly felt like we were working with old friends. They managed to fit into our wedding party perfectly while s...
imultaneously capturing incredible photos of our day. The number of compliments we received on how they worked the wedding was overwhelming. And that doesn't even speak to the quality of their work! Every picture was frame worthy. There are way too many stressful parts to planning a wedding. Just hire Jemima now and move on to the next part of your to-do list.
I found Jemima Richards on Google when I was searching for wedding photographers. I reached out to her and we met for coffee and immediately wanted her to take my wedding pictures....
I saw her website and got a chance to see her work, I knew then I made the right decision by hiring her. My husband & I had a very small intimate wedding ceremony and dinner and Jemima captured every beautiful moment of the day. I couldn't wait to see the photos, she sent me some sneak peeks and I just loved them. Once we got the full set back we were just thrilled. I highly recommend Jemima Richards for your wedding photos. She's simply awesome!!
We hired Jemima based almost entirely off of the vibe we got from her website - she seemed relaxed and fun, while also knowledgeable of her craft. Luckily, she's right on brand! ...
She far exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Our initial meeting in a coffee shop felt less like a sales pitch and more like meeting a new friend, she put us at ease in our engagement session, and all of our friends and family raved about her at the wedding. She is a calming force and a joy to be around. We will definitely look to her again for future shoots!
We hired Jemima for our January 2019 wedding and had the best experience. She put me completely at ease through the whole hiring process, her site was very easy to use for hiring a...
nd viewing pictures, and she captured the pictures and moments that were important to us. The pictures are beautiful, and we're so happy with the results. The package we used included a second photographer, her husband Dylan, and he was incredibly helpful. They were so nice, we would have had them both as guests if we'd met them a few months before.
We eloped in NYC at the marriage bureau/city hall and she helped us navigate the process as she had experience with other city hall weddings. I hardly noticed her snapping away an...
d it resulted in amazing candid shots that captured the nervous/excited/happy energy of the day. All communication was effortless leading up to the actual day. She made sure we touched as many of the locations and shots I desired based off of some inspiration photos I sent to her prior. She also was a real trooper to do it all while it was 10 degrees out! She sent a few sneak peek images very promptly after and I was obsessed, to the point of forgetting that I would soon be receiving hundreds more. I was content with those 9 photos because they were *that* good. The full link to all the photos came almost exactly a week later and I am so in love.
My only wish is that I had more needs for a photographer like Jemima to follow me around in my everyday life. <3
