Justin is not your average wedding photographer - he's a storyteller.
The last thing I wanted on our wedding day was the traditional, posed photos you see in every wedding album....
We wanted our photos to be much more candid and truly tell our story. We explained our vision to Justin, who totally ran with it.
Justin was the only photographer on our wedding day. While he offers options if you need multiple photographers, we really only required one person for our needs. However, I never found that we were lacking by only having one photographer because Justin was so efficient, creative and hard-working.
On the day of the wedding, Justin was such a pro. He showed up ready with ideas but was completely flexible with anything we wanted to do. While walking around Brooklyn for our pictures, he had a great eye for cool/innovative locations and ideas that were in line with our vision. His easy-going, relaxed manner made the entire experience so enjoyable. He joked around with us and chatted while working, so it never felt awkward or forced.
At the wedding ceremony/reception, I never even noticed Justin was there (which I think is a true testament of a skilled photographer). He was so inconspicuous while still managing to be ALL over the place. It never felt like he was working, even though he never stopped working the entire evening (he even helped my bridesmaids to locate more cake when we ran out!).
Lastly, as a side note, my husband and I decided not to hire a videographer for our wedding, and I was having last-minute regrets that we were going to miss out on capturing some special moments without one. However, once we got our photos back, my regrets disappeared. Looking through our album, the day's story was told through our pictures, and we were reminded of some truly beautiful and special moments. I am so thankful Justin was there to capture our special day. I would recommend him for ANY event you have - your photos will speak for themselves.
Justin was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. He was calm, funny, understanding and fit in perfectly with our group. His calm demeanor rubbed off on everyone and he...
handled any and all curve balls throughout the day with humility, humor, ease and professionalism. The entire bridal party loved him and even the guests kept mentioning how much they liked our photographer. We cannot recommended him enough.
Justin- sincerely thank you so much!
Justin is not only a fantastic photographer and artist, but a wonderful person. Before I walked down the aisle, he turned to me and said, "If there is one piece of advice I am goin...
g to give you for this moment, it is this: be present. Because the day will move so fast and in a blink it will be over. So enjoy every second of this."
That advice stayed with me, and it was one of the most meaningful things anyone said to me that day.
From start to finish, my husband and I truly had the best time with Justin. His calming presence, charm, and fantastic sense of humor really added to our day. He made everyone feel comfortable and made the picture taking process with family and group photos so easy.
During the day, Justin let me peek at some of his shots and they were breathtakingly beautiful. No one photo looks the same, and he tailors every frame to whomever and whatever he is shooting. He has a gift that is beyond the lens.
We feel so lucky that we hired him to capture one of the most important days of our life. Thank you again, Justin, for everything!
We totally had 'the' right photographer to help us capture our day!
Being from the UK we eloped at City Hall and knew we wanted someone to give us that something extra - we were ...
happy we chose Justin - he was spot on with the images he took and places he took us.
He is such a friendly person too, really listens and so easy to get a long with - perfect for putting you at ease on your special day.
We were both thrilled - Big thank you Justin!

ding photos, I didn't even think twice about calling him. He captured such beautiful photos of our civil ceremony that my husband and I can't stop looking at them, and we've gotten endless compliments from our friends and family. When he saw that we were a little overwhelmed, he took charge and suggested beautiful shooting locations and made sure to get every possible combination of family photos for us. While we were waiting at City Hall, he became a fly on the wall and captured very special candids of the moments leading up to our ceremony. After our ceremony, he led us all to the back door and orchestrated the exact way he wanted us to emerge, newly married, with our families waiting to congratulate us - something I never would have thought to do. They're perfect! If you get a chance to work with Justin, absolutely jump at it - he really is the best.

rtistic eye and expertise. But not just any shots, AMAZING photos! He did a great job at snapping a variety of photos and all the candid action with our guests, which is what we wanted. It's so nice to be able to relive our happiest day surrounded by the people we love whenever we look at them– if only we could go back and do it again!

T. Justin took the time to listen to all requests and worked with us to find the best place in New York City to capture our relationship. He was not only patient when we needed some guidance but we also had a lot of fun that day. Justin's enthusiasm for his work is infectious. He is both talented and professional and I will highly recommend him to my friends and family.

fort into your big day if you don’t have the right person there to capture the memories. I met with several local photographers but was not pleased with any of them. Thankfully, I came across Justin Chauncey Photography. Even though he was not local, I heard he was the best and willing to travel. After our first conversation I knew he would be a great fit for us. Think about it. Not only is this person capturing one of the most important days of your life, but they will be present for every special moment. You want your photographer to be friendly, considerate and knowledgeable. Justin did not disappoint. His pictures are beautiful. He has an excellent eye for detail and he made things fun! I would recommend Justin Chauncey Photography to anyone looking for a talented professional and an all around great guy!
