About this vendor
Jay V Photography is located in Naperville, IL, but will travel anywhere to authentically capture your wedding day. Jay V Photography has been in business for over 10 years, and the reviews on both The Knot and Google prove that our couples love us.
As the owner and lead photographer, I'm dedicated to authentically capturing weddings. I know how quickly your wedding will fly by, which is why I focus on capturing the moments while letting you live them. My aim is to document the occasion in a genuine way, creating images that reflect the couple and the celebration they spent so much time organizing.
I will also be real with you: I've also been a high school English teacher for over a decade, and I continue to teach. I share with with couples for several reasons. The people skills that teaching has taught me are essential to running a smooth wedding day. I also know how much work I can take it per year so that I can devote myself completely to my couples. I don't overbook myself and I sensibly cap my weddings every year based on what I can handle. I love teaching literature, as it allow me to dive into stories and witness what drives others. This same passion fuels my work as a wedding photographer, where my goal is to document a couple’s story and what motivates them.
I believes that your wedding photographs should achieve a number of things. First is that they evoke the same feelings that you had on your wedding day. For this reason, I edits the photographs with true-to-life colors, helping to preserve the moment. Second, I believes that the photographs should be yours, which is why digital files are included in each package WITH printing rights. Third, I feel it is greatly important that couples get to meet him before signing a contract. I want couples to feel that they have found the right fit in terms of their photographer. I'm also open to talking with couples about what I can do for them within their budget. At Jay V Photography, this professional aims to ensure that your big day is captured in a way that allows you to hold onto your memories for a lifetime.
Don't be fooled by some of the top advertisers on The Knot. They often take on more weddings than they have photographers for, and they will assign a random photographer to your wedding day. As a small wedding business, you will be working with me 100% of the time, from your initial inquiry, to the wedding day, to the final delivery of your gallery.

Jason was a great photographer and we so appreciated our extra photographer Jeremy. Within 24 hours we had over 50 photos for our sneak peak and we love every single one. He captur...
ed all of our special moments and we are so appreciative!
We're SO happy with Jason's work. We hired Jason to shoot our wedding ceremony at the Baha'i Temple followed by our reception at Gibson's Italia. From the first conversation we had...
with him, Jason was accommodating, understanding, and super attentive to what we wanted/envisioned for our wedding photos. All of our photos came out absolutely perfectly -- Jason captured the photos we wanted and exactly how we wanted them. Throughout the day, it was obvious Jason was so thoughtful about what we wanted and was so intentional about making sure we got just that -- natural, authentic poses with guests!
I cannot say enough good things about Jason. I did quite a bit of research before hiring a photographer for our NYE wedding and within five minutes of talking with Jason, I knew th...
e search was over. In the lead up to the wedding, Jason was so helpful talking through the plan for the day and ensuring we had the right timing to get all the pictures we needed. On the day of, Jason was able to keep two big families in line and on track and helped me and my husband relax and enjoy being in front of the camera (not something we're typically comfortable with). My nieces/flowergirls were having meltdowns during family pictures and he was so patient trying to get them to pose for the picture. Jason turned the pictures around so quickly and even sent a sneak peak of some the next day which was awesome. We are obsessed with how our pictures turned out and could not recommend Jason enough. If you are searching for a photographer, look no further!!!
Jay was such a great photographer, if i could give more than 5 stars I would! I was the maid of honor for my sisters wedding and had to write a review as he was the best photograph...
er I have ever experienced. Even before we got the photos back everyone in the bridal party was raving about him and his partner. They made everyone feel so comfortable and made the picture taking process so fun for all! They felt like wedding guests and we’re such a great addition to the day. Jay called my sister the night before to make sure everything was set up how she wanted it and even made her feel better about the weather. He truly set her at ease. In terms of results, ALL OF THE PHOTOS TURNED OUT PERFECT! My jaw dropped as I saw some of the gorgeous photos of the bride and groom. He made sure to capture genuine moments rather than posed, fake photos. Needless to say I will be paying Jay as much as it takes to get him to do my wedding in Colorado.
There’s something special about Jay and how he operates as a photographer as well as a person! He makes you feel seen and comfortable while seamlessly working hard to capture criti...
cal moments on a wedding day. His professionalism is unmatched and you will be WOWED by the end result. If you’re unsure about who to book, LOOK NO FURTHER!
I’ve been in 3 weddings in the past 4 months and Jason was hands down the best photographer. He was extremely organized, had my sister-in-law and brother provide a check list of w...
hat pictures were important to them, was professional in his approach and explanation ahead of the wedding day. The day of he was on time, organized, knew which pictures he needed and where, focused on making everyone at ease and dealt with the nerves and excitement of everyone with true grace. The wedding was in a Catholic Church which has very specific rules related to photography and ceremony and he respected all of the rules and rites of the church. He also had picture running on a screen during the ceremony that we were able to view and got sneak peak to us the same weekend, while having a second wedding to work on. The other 3 weddings I’ve been part of took 5-7 weeks minimum for sneak peaks to be available and the amount of time it took to take photos are up cocktail hours and much of the receptions. With Jason and the way he organized, the quality of photos was not compromised in the least and we got to the most important part, celebrating my brother and now new little sister more quickly!
Absolutely amazing experience with Jason! He made my husband and I feel very comfortable throughout the photo process and didn't stress at all when there were 5 other bridal party ...
groups trying to snag a spot near the Wrigley building for those awesome Chicago shots. The best part - I got my FULL album in a total of 13 days! Granted - our wedding was in December, but still - Jason gave us a personalized experience that definitely did not feel overdone or out of style. His cost was affordable and with the beautiful photos we ended up with - I feel like it was a steal! Highly recommend to any couple searching for a awesome wedding photographer!
Jason was more than we could ever ask for in a photographer. We did a lot of vetting before selecting a photographer and Jason was great. We loved how his editing style was classic...
and timeless and we that he answered our millions of questions with ease. After hiring Jason, he surpassed all of our expectations and easily became one of our favorite vendors to work with. He drove ~2 hours round trip for free so that we could take sunrise engagement portraits in my hometown. This meant the world to me and is something other photographers would have said no to. And then the day of, Jason stepped up again. Hair and Makeup was running very late and Jason took the lead in rearranging the schedule and working with all of the other vendors. He made sure I was at ease and knew that things were okay. I loved that Jason was able to capture our day so authentically, with excellent candids and skilled portrait photography. He noticed every detail. After our wedding, we were literally shocked to get our photos so fast. We would hire Jay V over and over and over again.
I cannot speak highly enough of Jason. He is calm, collected, and takes the most beautiful pictures that you have ever seen.

old him we were planning on doing a destination wedding. Rather than saying, "I can't do it," he was excited to take pictures for me in Mexico.
He captured some of the best pictures I've ever seen of my big day and of our engagement. I appreciate his style of photography and he does a great job of capturing moments rather than posed photos.
If you are looking for someone easy to work with, talented, and an excellent photographer, Jason is your guy.
Jason is amazing! He and his partner were with us all day (Jason personally worked a 13 hour day for us) across multiple locations (the bride and grooms’ family homes as well as th...
e wedding venue) and did so with a smile! We had a traditional Hindu wedding and they were professional and accommodating, not to mention friendly and fun. The turnaround time was also very quick and we received our photos after just about a month! They look fantastic and Jason did an amazing job of capturing every part of our day. Highly recommended!

so easy to work with & kept us on schedule. Then he gave us our beautiful sneak peak the very next day! Couldn’t ask for a better, more talented, or down to earth photographer! Highly recommend!

ason went above and beyond to work with us throughout the planning process. He made the process of organizing the day easy and smooth. He was extremely organized and knowledgeable. I had many questions and he was so patient and helpful in incorporating everything we wanted in our day. He spent his time going over the schedule of events with us the days leading up. I felt very confident in his abilities and vision for our wedding. The day of the wedding, he played a major role in continuing to move our wedding party along. He kept us on track which I appreciated especially with all of the family photos after our ceremony. Jason was able to capture the raw moments of our day that made it all so much more special to see later on. Many of the photos we received back were very special moments that are so thankful to have to keep forever. We loved the pictures that we were given, many in which are now on the walls and have made it on our thank you cards. We can't say enough about how wonderful he was!
There are not enough amazing things to say about Jay and how special he made our wedding day. From our engagement pictures to the last picture he snapped on our wedding day, he was...
professional, fun, and most importantly, extremely talented. We felt comfortable with him the minute we met and he captured every moment of our day beautifully. He was able to photograph the special, candid moments with ease and they are our favorite pictures we received. His second shooter was equally as talented and made the day that much more fun. My bridal party loved them both and talked for weeks about how great they were to work with. I even had someone reach out to me on Instagram asking who my photographer was because she wanted to use them for her own wedding!
Don’t think twice about booking Jay to capture the most important day of your life. His talent and easy- going nature makes him the best to work with. He was our favorite vendor we worked with by far and I recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer. Thank you for everything Jay!
Jason was such a delight to work with. We met exclusively over Zoom in the year leading up to our wedding. When we finally met in real life the day of, it felt like we had known ea...
ch other for years. He put everyone at ease and was efficient. We were running late for the ceremony then we had only a few minutes to take family photos yet he managed to get all the photos anyway. By the time cocktail hour started he already had previews ready and displayed them on a monitor during the reception. What amazed me were the candid moments he was able to capture. Anyone can pose people. It takes a talented eye to spot the special shots that tell a bigger story.
TL;but please read. So many things I could say about Jay! He was AMAZINGGG on our wedding day! Not only is he easy to work with and super nice, his photography skills are outstandi...
ng. We got a few photos at the end of the night of our ceremony which was such a special treat to see. I have a big and fairly rambunctious family and was worried about timing for our ceremony pictures but he was respectful yet timely with the whole process. Based on my tight schedule I didn't think we'd have much time to take many good couple pictures, or so I thought. He was able to capture BEAUTIFUL pictures with the short time we had and he found a sliver of time to snag us out for sun setting pictures which I never thought about. I am so glad he did. He pays attention to details and was very patient with my family when I know they can be difficult. Thankful for that about Jay. We also had Jeremy as our second photographer with Jay and he was also very fun to work with! Our groomsmen were with him for the morning and they had nothing but great things to say about his personality and how easy and natural it was to have him there during the day. Both Jay and Jeremy were fun and laid back yet professional to have as photographers. It did not feel like random people telling us to take pictures because it's their job but more like friends caring a lot about making sure they capture your best self on your special day. 100% recommend!!!!

took our wedding pictures on a hot day at the end of July and you would never be able to tell from the looks of our pictures. What sets Jason apart from other photographers is his customer service. When you have a question, he answers right away -- and with a perfect solution! Weddings can naturally be a stressful time for a bride and groom but with Jason, he is on your team. This is so important. We will always and forever recommend him.

He made sure we stayed on track and got the photos we wanted on our big day without making us seem rushed. I would recommend his photography services to anyone interested- you will not be disappointed!

ting all our pictures taken on a very humid, hot, post storm day. He was organized, had a couple meetings with us in advance, and was very transparent about the whole process. Pricing and contract are fantastic. We even received about 20 preview photos that very night of our wedding!! Both the posed shots and candid snaps were gorgeous. Could not recommend him more. If you are looking for an indoor & outdoor expert with a chill personality- he’s your guy!

kward. But Jason totally took that feeling away, both times we worked with him. He knew the right things to say, or have us say to each other to make us genuinely smile and laugh. He captured our wedding so beautifully, and captured us and our families so great, along with working with our amazing venue! He was professional, as well as super friendly. Everyone at our wedding enjoyed having him there, and we absolutely love our pictures!!!! ugh his work that his style was technical yet creative. We scheduled an engagement session (included with our wedding booking!) and found that Jason was so easy to work with. He does a great job directing photos without posing too much. He has a special skill at using natural lighting and catching the perfect moment. As for our wedding day, Jason was prompt and attentive. He took charge and got some really great shots. The pricing is very fair and his photography really captures the moment beautifully. That is priceless! We loved seeing sneak peeks of our pictures on social media after our sessions too! You can definitely trust Jason with your next photo needs!
