e music, John has a great sense of what makes for a good flow of music through the night!
DJ John Young of JAM Music provided an outstanding service for our December 2024 wedding. I had previously seen and heard John DJ and MC several events for my family members over t...
he years, and I had also attended other events that he worked. So, I thought I had a good idea of what I could expect from John as we chose him for our wedding; I knew he would be responsive, I knew he had a good grasp of music from across genres and eras, and I knew he would keep our guests' energy levels high. However, from the start, John exceeded these expectations with his communication in the months and weeks leading up to the wedding and with his performance on the day of the wedding. John communicated very clearly and consistently from the time we reached out to him; he responded to our messages promptly and was available to answer all our questions as they came up during our planning process. John was organized and had us complete an essential information and preferences worksheet so that he could best curate the musical selections and MC responsibilities for our event. As we compiled a list of songs for John and gave him our day-of schedule, he seemed to digest that information perfectly, as everything went according to plan and exactly on time on wedding day. Additionally, John created a customized version of our first-dance song that stitched together two parts of the song in a seamless way such that one would not be able to decipher that any edits were made to the song. That's when I knew that John was going to provide us superior service on the wedding day! John also conducted a walkthrough of the event venue with me and the venue's manager to ensure that he knew the space well. He subsequently made informed recommendations about uplighting and the number of speakers necessary to ensure appropriate volumes throughout our event spaces; these recommendations ended up being exactly right. On the wedding day, John was prompt and began setting up immediately upon arrival. One of the biggest surprises of the night happened as my bride and I entered the reception space before dinner. Without any instruction, John prompted our wedding guests to wave their napkins as my bride and I descended into the space. This built up the anticipation of our entry such that our guests were all cheering and smiling as my bride and I came into the space; John's MC'ing in this instance created an unforgettable moment that we will always cherish. During dinner, John played appropriate music at an appropriate volume that still allowed for conversation. However, towards the end of the dinner as excitement was building and people wanted to get on the dance floor, John began playing more recognizable R&B love songs, which helped our guests' enthusiasm for the dance floor to grow and people sang along to these iconic songs. Once we were on the dance floor, John played all the songs that we had previously listed on our preference sheet, and he used that preference sheet to play similar genres and artists so that the dance floor was active all night long. DJ John Young exceeded our expectations and I cannot recommend him more fervently!
John did a good job. Very professional. Played the right music to get my guest on the dance floor. My only issues were with the volume of music. After speaking with guests they con...
firmed the volume was lower than the other party next door. Also, key speeches from the parents were missed so I was a bit saddened by that however the party was fantastic and I would recommend his services.

able, making sure to understand exactly what we wanted for our big day.
He seamlessly combined popular R&B and rap hits, and even took inspiration from a playlist we had created, which was a fantastic touch. The music selection was spot-on and kept everyone on the dance floor all night long. DJ John Young provided a mic and small speaker for the audio during the ceremony and played the music for the processionals.
The sound equipment and lighting he provided were top-notch, it created a nice atmosphere that perfectly matched the vibe of the crowd as the night progressed.
I highly recommend DJ John Young and JAM Music to anyone planning an event. His skill and professionalism made our wedding truly special, and I’m confident he’ll do the same for anyone else.
We hired Jam Music for our 7/28/24 wedding and we’d recommend them 100% of the time someone is looking for recommendation and if they didn’t ask we’d still recommend Jam Music. 😂

We would definitely hire John Young again for a future event and would recommend to anyone looking to plan an amazing event!

ng. Because of his sound system capabilities, we were able to have a beautiful worship service with 3 singers that were accompanied by keyboard, violin, and guitar. We had all ages from 2-60 years at our wedding, and at one point almost everyone was out of the their seats dancing to crowd favorites. He even showed up to the final walkthrough, which was not required for my vendors, to get an idea of his set up and to also share some words of encouragement before the big day. He is truly personable, gifted at his craft, and kind. He came up with a great idea to have us take pictures at every table before one song was over as a game. It got the guests excited, boosted the atmosphere, and made a seemingly tedious task fun and efficient. You cannot go wrong with choosing JAM Music - DJ John knows exactly what he is doing.
