About this vendor
J and L Photography is a destination wedding and elopement photography duo based in Seattle, WA. We are Juliette and Liz (a married couple ourselves!) and we love capturing photos that look (and feel) like you. On your wedding day, everything moves so fast, we want to slow down time and capture the fleeting moments so you can relive them long after your flowers wilt, your cake is eaten, and your guests have flown home. Our favorite moments to capture are the raw in-between moments. Your dad wiping away a tear as he sees you for the first time, your newlyweds hand grazing the small of your back, your head thrown back in laughter as they whisper something in your ear.
I, Juliette am probably the most sentimental person you could meet. I fell in love with photography when I was 5 years old, armed with my bright yellow disposable camera. I have been capturing weddings since 2014! Liz joined me in 2020, leaving behind her corporate fashion background in favor of leaning into being an artist + connecting on a real human level with our clients.
We are not just there on your wedding day hiding behind a big camera, we are there in the weeks and months leading up to the big day. To calm your nerves, talk about your inspiration, and craft a seamless timeline. The day of; we’ll help you pin your boutonniere, sew any last-minute wardrobe emergencies (no seriously, it’s happened), and wrangle aunt marge away from the charcuterie table for family photos. If you are looking for a connection that lasts long after your wedding day, let’s build a friendship and make magic together!

Got married back in August 2024 and realized I never left a review which is a travesty because Juliette and Liz are AMAZING!! We've done 3 different shoots with them -- our spontan...
eous courthouse elopement, our (belated) engagement photos and our wedding -- and they've blown us away every time.
They have such amazing attention to detail and have captured our vibes, our wedding day and our love so beautifully. We will always look back at our wedding photos with so much love not just because it was the most special day but because they truly captured the essence of the day!
They are so professional to work with and are the type of vendors you really want to be friends with after your big day. So happy we booked them and can't recommend them enough for photography, film, Super 8 or all of the above!
J&L Photography is the first vendor I saw (the night we got engaged) that I just knew I wanted to use. Thankfully our dates ended up aligning. After speaking with them, and getting...
to know Juliette and Liz for more than just their beautiful work, I got to learn that they are just as wonderful! They were communicative and helpful-- they even assisted with a wedding day timeline to help best capture the light. Always on time (even when we weren't) and truly professional.
Our engagement photos were stunning and they both made it so comfortable and FUN.
I haven't gotten our wedding day photos back (we JUST got married) but I can confidently leave this review just knowing that they will be beautiful.
They were both incredibly warm and kind people. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them at this major life event.
I have zero doubt that if you're fortunate enough to work with J&L Photography, your photos and day will be better off for having them there.
We were fortunate to have J&L Photography shoot our welcome party and wedding day, and we couldn’t be happier with the entire experience and the results. From our first interaction...
, Juliette and Liz were exceptionally professional, warm, and genuinely committed to capturing our big day.
Throughout both events, they blended seamlessly into the celebrations, making everyone feel at ease while capturing the most authentic and special moments.
When we received our photo album, we were thrilled. Juliette and Liz didn’t just take pictures; they documented the emotions, the atmosphere, and all the little details that made our day unique. We’re so grateful to have these memories preserved so beautifully.
If you’re looking for photographers who will go above and beyond to capture the essence of your wedding day, we highly recommend J&L Photography.
Juliette and Liz were the first people we hired for our wedding, and I'm so happy we did. They are on top of all the basics: communication, timely responses and check-ins, excellen...
t photos etc. It's the things they do on top of all that that make them standout. Besides digital you will get film photography which was a huge added bonus and made for some of our favorite photos from our engagement session. They sent us a care package to thank us for hiring them (!) with thoughtful and curated items. Most of all, they made us feel very comfortable in front of the camera, which was especially important to us as my husband can freeze up a bit in photos. On our wedding day they showed up with at least 7 different cameras so they were prepared for all types of lighting and situations. In short - hire them, they're lovely!
Juliette is the PERFECT wedding photographer! She was an absolute professional - she made sure she knew exactly what my husband and I were looking for ahead of our big day. On the ...
day of our wedding, she captured every moment possible while remaining respectful of our guests and the occasion. She also made a number of very helpful suggestions on the day, creating opportunities for photos that we treasure. She has a stunning eye for composition.
Our final photos (which we received very shortly after our wedding day - it was a quick turnaround) absolutely took our breath away. We revisit them often and they always bring a tear to our eyes. She captured our love and the love of our families and friends so perfectly. And every time we show our photos to anyone, they always remark at the talent of our photographer! I would recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, talented, and experienced photographer for their wedding.
Juliette was a total pro, easy to work with, and produced absolutely amazing photos. She was so easy to be around -- it felt like that perfect combination of being with a friend at...
your wedding and yet having no one there at all -- she made herself invisible and got incredible shots, and she made herself familiar and got incredible shots. Her pricing was super reasonable, and we feel like we totally scored getting top-of-the-line work at a moderate cost. She was quick to follow up with photos, and we will forever treasure her work as our main source of memories from our wedding day. We were lucky to find her!
Juliette was a pleasure and a delight to work with. She photographed my wedding in 2016 when she was early in her career, and even then she was a polished professional. She was acc...
essible and responsive, and endlessly patient with all of my questions and ideas (or lack thereof). Neither my husband nor I are comfortable in front of the camera, and I was so worried that the pictures would come out looking stiff and awkward-- but Juliette worked with us, put us at ease and made us look like real people! Her sweet nature, eye for detail and talent for composition made her ideal to work with. The day went by like a flash, but her photos have cemented and memorialized such a lovely time. <3
Juliette photographed our intimate, COVID wedding in 2020. I cannot recommend her highly enough! It was really smoky where we were and we didn't know how that would impact photos a...
nd capturing the day, but the finished product photos we got back were STUNNING. She made mine and my husband's families (as well as us) feel very comfortable and helped us stay calm when we fell behind our timeline for the day and still managed to get us to the altar on time! Would recommend her for any wedding photography needs!
I'd be surprised if anyone has a bad thing to say about Juliette- she photographed my wedding and was so sweet, cool, professional, supportive, responsive, etc etc. She knows her s...
hit, has SUCH a talented eye, and has an absolutely dreamy processing style. She's also just such a quality human- I've known her for years. Our friends and family were blown away by the photos she captured! She got the perfect mix of portraits, candids, and detail shots, and I'll say it again- her eye for composition and detail as well as her patience, flexibility and people skills just can't be beat.
I work in the wedding industry and my advice to brides is to *never* skimp or compromise on your photographer- the day really does go by in a (very fun and exciting) flash and after it's all said and done, it means the world to have really amazing wedding day photos you can look back on to remember each moment.
Would recommend her to anyone and everyone- do yourself a favor and book her, you'll be glad you did.
