IT’S LIT Weddings & Events

it to life so authentically and beautifully!!

tact - he kept in touch with us leading up the event to make sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend you choose IT'S LIT for your wedding, baby shower or Bat Mitzvah!  Also, Alex and his team were stealth with set up and break down!

nce floor, Alex and his team crushed it. The uplighting was great and the marquee letters really brought the room together and made a great background for photos. One of the things that I was most passionate about as a groom was finding someone who would set the tone for the night. Alex brought the energy from the moment he stepped on site that day. Whether he was behind the DJ booth working the 1s and 2s or on the mic, he was fantastic. Since the wedding, all of our friends have been asking about Alex, his team and where we found them. There's no lack of DJ's for a Newport wedding but if you're reading this review then congratulations because your search is over! DJ Alex Brown is simply the best there is.

ce to so I was nervous when looking for a DJ. I wanted EDM, 90s techno, and dance music and when I tell you he nailed it, I mean it. Every single song that was played I LOVED. I gave him a few must play songs and he 100% understood the vibe I wanted. If you are looking for someone that understands dance music (think also old school Show me Love- Robin S) then I truly could not recommend him more!! He was also extremely professional and kept everything running smoothly.

t that after 4 hours of dancing, people were going crazy chanting for more songs!!! So many fun surprises from Alex to keep the people going, awesome MC too! So easy to work with in the planning process as well. Don't look anywhere else for a DJ! Everything was perfectly timed and so glad our first dance and parent dances went smoothly, all thanks to Alex!

to help. His team has you enter any necessary information (details, contact info for vendors, etc) for the big day; which is great and a relief! The night overall was great...however, there were small things that could have been improved or communicated in advance. We had begun our first dance, but the fog wasn't already going and it made the vibe feel a bit 'lessened' regarding the effect. Secondly, we were not advised that the fog machine could make the dance floor very slippery. I slipped during the first dance, but thankfully, didn't fall. Eventually, the dance floor had to literally be mopped, due to the condensation that collected. I would still recommend them to anyone who wanted to have the magical effect at their wedding. Especially as Alex wanted to follow up following the wedding and requested/thanked me for the honest review so he could improve things in the future. That shows he truly cares and genuinely appreciates any feedback from his clients.

ugh details for the day of. He showed up early to set up and was available throughout the night with any questions or requests we had. He does a fantastic job keeping guests dancing and enjoying the night. Highly recommended for any of your future events!

f the introductions into the ceremony and then providing music during dinner. He kept the flow of the evening on schedule in a casual manner and came up to me when dinner was wrapping up to ensure it was an appropriate time to open up the dance floor for all. When it came to the dance floor, Alex couldn't have done a better job keeping all the guests engaged! We provided a lengthy list of requests and he was able to incorporate all of them at the right point in the night as well as add in his own music. An added bonus was the glow foam sticks that he provided - our guests loved these! Thank you, Alex, for listening to all of our (a bit extra) requests during the planning process, understanding our vision and delivering the best dance floor music we could've asked for!!

th and delivered on everything we asked for to make sure the wedding ran smoothly and kept our guests dancing. After several conversations with other DJs after our engagement we knew Alex was a great fit and offers very competitive pricing for the quality of his work. Alex was not pushy and worked with us to configure a package that worked best for us. The planning forms were very easy to navigate and Alex stayed on top of keeping us updated and reviewing our selections. We provided a basis of the type of music we wanted to be played and Alex did a phenomenal job rounding out the playlist for the night that perfectly fit the vibe we were looking for. Alex also provided music for our ceremony and delivered everything perfectly on time and high quality. Thank you again for making our special day one to remember!

equests. Would highly recommend to anyone hosting an event.

every necessary detail! Without him, our wedding would not have been the fun party that it was and we are so happy he was such a big part of our day. Highly recommend!!!

ess an absolute breeze. He made sure every detail was carefully planned out and took care of everything from ceremony music, microphones, cocktail music, dinner, and of course the dancing which everyone was raving about! The dance floor was full the whole night! Alex was so professional and his MC work was seamless and timed perfectly. Cannot thank Alex enough for helping create the most perfect night!! Will not stop recommending DJ Alex Brown Entertainment!! Thank you again!

eir big day, and leading up to our wedding, we WERE worried, but not with Alex. With less than a week to go from the best day of our lives, my husband and I found ourselves in an unexpected and VERY sticky situation possibly being without a DJ. Thanks to a good friend and former bride reaching out to Alex and finding out he was actually available THAT WEEKEND, all of our worries washed away. Alex was immediately assuring, understanding, and truly took the time to get to know us as a couple and our vision for our wedding night. His professionalism, experience and knowledge of the industry made our night even better than we ever could have dreamed of. Our circumstances were NOT normal, yet Alex remained calm and confident. His accomplishments are attributed to his commitment and care for his couples. Our dance floor was packed by friends and family of all ages. Alex happily and excitedly accepted a surprise guest request for my husband’s favorite artist and made an announcement which flooded the floor with glowsticks, clapping, a toast and dance party. By the end of the night, my hair had completely fallen out from headbanging with friends to songs we grew up listening to. One of the most rewarding parts of our wedding video was watching guests interacting on the dance floor. Seeing how much fun our guests had dancing the night away was an indication that we had the best wedding DJ out there. My only regret was not finding Alex from the start!

d the music just right. For cocktail hour and the reception, Alex was super accommodating with music selections and requests, and the music that he played was awesome - he played all the Taylor Swift we could've ever wanted! Alex was so professional and his MC work was so seamless/smooth - as we transitioned through events of the evening it felt so natural. The photobooth his team provided was also an absolute HIT! All of our guests loved it so much and are still raving about it, and we're loving looking at all of the wonderful pictures everyone took together. Alex and his team went above and beyond to help make our day so special and a memory we will never forget!

id an amazing job with our first dance and getting everyone up on the dance floor! We also rented an audio guest book telephone, and it made a great addition for our guests. Book DJ Alex for your event, you won't regret it!!

mail and phone call, providing us with smoke for our first dance, coming up with the best playlist that had every person dancing, and even getting on the dance floor to help myself, the bride, learn a few dance moves! And he was very interactive with the crowd. Because of Alex we truly had an amazing wedding night! P.S also get your photo booth through him, the pictures came out amazing, everyone had a blast, and we were able to get a link for all the photos taken that night.

ver imagined, and I'm positive that he will do this for your event as well. This isn't a "he did a good job so let's give him a good review" review. I truly mean what I said and I can back it up with multiple examples of how Alex made our wedding go as smoothly as possible and made it so entertaining that everyone couldn’t stop dancing! 1: Alex received an odd sounding voicemail from our food vendor, and realized that something was off about it. He reached out to me and ended up settling a miscommunication that would have left us without food on our wedding day! Alex could have let the voicemail go, but he was organized enough to check his voicemail often, and also realize when something seemed amiss. Alex went above and beyond, and stopped a wedding day disaster from happening right in its tracks. 2: Alex did such a good job at DJing, that our guests didn’t want the fun to stop! They danced the entire time we paid Alex to be there, and when it was time to go, they still wanted more! I ended up asking him to stay later for more money and he happily obliged. We understand how much extra work this is, and we truly appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts. From a vendor’s perspective, they need to arrive early for set up, stay late for tear down, and they’re working the entire wedding. It’s a whole lot to ask someone to stay another 30-60 minutes working, then they have to finish tearing down, drive home, etc. 3: Alex, he helped us organize our entire wedding timeline. Having never set up a wedding before, this was vital to the flow of our special day. He helped us understand when things normally happen, how long they’ll take, and what we should expect. This helped us get our bearings when we needed them most! Not only did he help prior to the wedding, but up until, and on the day of the wedding. When we were behind schedule on our family photos, Alex took the liberty of reaching out to us to let us know we were running behind. He was very professional, not trying to push us along or take control of the situation, but merely letting us know that we were behind, and how much we were behind. In my opinion, I don’t believe this is even in his job description, but he knew when to step in and make sure we were aware of things we should be aware of. This helped out tremendously, because the last thing you want at your wedding is hungry guests! 4: DJ services: We worked with alex to put together playlists of music we liked, music our guests liked, music for cocktail hour, dinner, etc. He incorporated all the songs we wanted to be incorporated. Not only that, but we practiced our wedding dance to a youtube video, that had a specific edit of a song we couldn’t find. We were able to send Alex this song, and he was able to duplicate the exact song! Whatever you need him to do, I’m positive he’ll make it work. In the end Alex isn’t just a good DJ who did a good job. Alex is an over the top, go extra mile type of person, who will make your wedding the best one it can possibly be. If you can book him, do it and you will be extremely satisfied with the work he does. If you believe he may be slightly out of your budget, book him anyways. The entertainer at your wedding is more important than you think, and they have a lot of control over how much fun the guests have!

that we had a DJ who would play music at our wedding that represented us appropriately as a couple - Alex did not disappoint! I wanted to do something special for our bridal party so we actually created our own playlist for cocktail hour and dinner to include each of their first dance songs. It was such a special touch and some of them even got up to dance when they heard their song. I was really glad Alex was open to us choosing specific music during those times. At what felt like the very last minute, we added on a photobooth and audio guestbook through his other company itsLIT RI. The best decisions we made! I created my own template on Canva and sent it to Alex in lieu of one of the pre-made ones he had and it ended up printing so beautifully! I really appreciated the flexibility on literally anything. Everyone loved the photobooth so much. Every time I looked over there, there was a line! And the audio guestbook was a huge hit! We got some hilarious messages and quite a few Chinese food takeout orders (is that normal?!). I couldn’t believe how fast the turnaround time was for the digital versions of both. I think he got them to us within two days! We got to relive parts of the wedding while we were still riding the high and it was awesome. It was also super convenient to bundle the three services together rather than have separate vendors for each. In addition to DJ/ Music services, audio guest book, photobooth and all the other services Alex offers, he also has a planning organizer that is incredibly helpful to gather your thoughts. Slightly different than a timeline that you put together with your coordinator or photographer. I feel like this one gave us more of a preview/ vision of what the night would look like, maybe because there is emotion involved with the songs we chose? I don’t know, but it was great. Part of the organizer was contact information for your other vendors like photographer and coordinator. He actually reached out to them ahead of time to confirm that they were all on the same page and all had the same timeline so there was no confusion the day of. If you don’t think this is a crucial contact to have - you are so wrong! Could you imagine Beyonce’s “all the single ladies” starts playing for a bouquet toss when you are standing there for father/ daughter dance? This obviously did not happen with us because he was so prepared =) If I could add more stars I would. My husband reached out to Alex to see if he could send us the playlists from the night so we can play them whenever and he had it to use within a couple days! How cool! To anyone considering Alex as your DJ for any event - DO IT! He is a true, experienced professional and you will not be disappointed!

x did a phenomenal job. He asked thoughtful questions and provided helpful insight throughout the planning process, and he took care of logistic details that I never even thought of throughout the wedding day. We had our ceremony outside on a public beach, and he provided the ceremony sound setup that we needed- ensuring that microphones were working and worn correctly, making sure the speakers were at the optimum angle so that all guests could hear, and just generally taking care of all the logistics that were necessary in creating the perfect ceremony space out of a public location. He ensured there was a smooth transition to the reception venue (located 15 minutes away from the ceremony location) and generally just made sure that the reception flowed smoothly. He kept timing on track with speeches, cake cutting, first dances, etc. and then kept the people dancing allll night long! Also the photobooth was a HUGE hit with guests. I HIGHLY recommend Alex!!! Thank you for everything :)

eption music as well as Photo Booth and uplighting. We had a last minute ballroom change at our venue and he quickly pivoted his plans with no problems. He was wonderful to work with during the planning process and played all of the music we asked for. Would definitely recommend DJ Alex Brown for weddings or events!

t go for a traditional wedding party. However, Alex took the time to ask us exactly how we wanted our ceremony and announces to go. I want to add that we had a choreographed dance and Alex nailed the timing of the music to the start of the dance. When getting ready for the wedding Alex was very punctual about phone calls and meetings. I am not the most tech savvy and his access to Spotify made my music list easy to translate to him. I think he did an excellent job and we really enjoyed our wedding!

also loved the uplighting he provided!

e assisted us throughout the process, making sure we were comfortable with everything and offered his services with very competitive pricing. Alongside his excellent organization leading up to the wedding, the day itself went great from all angles -- from the audio at our ceremony, to the photo booth at our reception, to the music itself throughout the night. He also took the time to work on correct pronunciations for several of our family members who have more difficult names to pronounce for native English speakers. We would highly recommend Alex as a DJ for any wedding!

edding day, Alex was always professional, quick to reply, and very easy to communicate with. He made sure that every detail was carefully planned out and was always in contact with us leading up to our wedding. Alex took care of the microphones, music, and speakers for our outdoor ceremony, had a perfect cocktail hour playlist, and did an incredible job with the uplighting and music during the reception. All of our guests loved his music choices, he kept everyone entertained and dancing all night long. Alex also provided an amazing photo booth that was a hit with our guests. Everyone receives printed copies of their photos from the photo booth and the bride and groom get a digital album of every photo from their guests as an additional special memory. Thank you so much Alex for making our wedding day amazing!

ng up to the wedding and kept us on track. He goes above and beyond expectations. The uplighting, tower lights, lighted batons, photo booth and markee lights created a great party atmosphere. Our guests were shouting for more at midnight!! Do not look any further!! He's the bomb!!

any difficult choices you may have. He goes above and beyond from music , to up lighting, and the Photo Booth. He found me ice for my dancing on the cloud, which was an amazing touch. He is considerate on pice points, and will never over charge for anything. If you need a DJ for any event, trust me as a very satisfied bride that searched for month. This is the man you want running your show. My husband and I can’t thank him enough for providing us the absolute dream come true wedding.

organizer" is amazing! There were so many things that I didn't think of but he was completely on top of it. I'm so happy with the package we chose, it included so much and the photo booth was a big hit! The ceremony was beautiful and Alex took care of everything from the mics, music, and speakers during cocktail hour as well. At the reception, all of our guests loved the music Alex played and he knew how to keep everyone dancing and entertained the whole night. Thanks Alex for helping make our wedding day so special!!

music selection, lights, etc. He also had experience working with many of the other vendors we hired, and so he worked directly with them to coordinate. Biggest thing though was his flexibility with adding and adjusting the contract in the lead-up, and providing recommendations for music, lighting, and set-up. Alex is truly passionate about his profession, and I'd highly recommend working with him for any occasion where you need an experienced DJ.

e with us right from the start and throughout the entire planning process (even gave us a ton of very helpful tips about wedding planning that had nothing to do with music). There were a number of songs I had chosen that weren't exactly "mainstream" and Alex went out of his way to make sure he could get every single one of them I had asked for. From pre-ceremony to the end of the reception, Alex appropriately set the mood and kept us engaged and dancing the night away! He definitely helped make our wedding day so special and memorable, we can't recommend Alex enough!

wedding songs" to keep our wide range of guests happy. Alex really took the time to make sure he was delivering a service that we would love and it showed! Highly Recomend

and our guests loved it! When dinner was running a little behind Alex kept us updated on what was going on and kept the flow moving. And he definitely nailed the playlist and got our guests on the dance floor immediately with some Backstreet Boys (perfect for our age group haha).

hat, flexible, professional and genuine. He customized a package for us that included ceremony, cocktail hour, reception music as well as up lighting and a super cool spot light with our names on it. He had sent us an easy to fill out wedding day schedule, and then reviewed it on the phone with me about 2 weeks prior to wedding day. He made sure to Pronounce all names correctly. The day of our wedding went super smooth. Everyone loves the shoe game we played and all our friends and family said the music choices were fun and really fit the style and age groups of the wedding. Everyone was dancing! Since my wedding, guests have commented about how great he was at hosting the party but making me and my husband the center of attention! Give him a call! You won’t regret it!

preciated having a stress free vendor experience with Alex!

consistently communicated with us giving us tips throughout the entire wedding planning process. And to top it off, I found him because of his great rates. Alex went above and beyond leading up to the wedding, and knocked it out of the park the day of. We couldn't recommend him enough!!!!

izer, Alex called me up and patiently walked me through each section, making suggestions that helped me make my choices. We played a few fun games that kept my guests entertained not to mention he played everything I requested which kept my guests dancing. The photo booth also was a huge hit with my guests. What a wonderful night. If you’re looking for a DJ for your next celebration look no further, DJ Alex is your man.

We cannot thank you enough Alex for sticking by our side the past 2 years during one of the craziest years ever and we are so glad we finally got to have the wedding! You helped make our day so special and we cannot thank you enough! 1000 stars and highly recommend!

our timeline without us asking. He even confirmed a later cake cutting with the caterer before telling us. The photo booth was also a huge hit. The music went with the vibe and even the lighting! Absolutely perfect. And definitely within our budget!

with me through the planning process. He was there whenever I needed him and provided two amazing services for my wedding. He set up a photo booth as well which was amazing.

eryone at our wedding had an absolute blast and DJAB is to thank for that. Alex is so incredibly easy to work with and made the planning process a breeze. He was always available and quickly responsive to texts, phone calls, and even face-times! He spent so much time going over every little detail of our wedding day to make it perfect - even with some picky requests that I had made! Alex even came to our rehearsal to make sure everything was going to run smoothly the day of. During our reception we fell a little behind on our timing for scheduled events (toasts, first dances, cake cutting, etc.) and Alex calmly informed me of what was going on and the best way to catch up on time. He was so flexible and very knowledgeable on how to make things work! We included his photo booth in our package and it was a total hit! He Everyone loved it and some of our favorite photos from the night took place here. He and his assistant are professionals! I hands down recommend DJAB to anyone for any event, not just weddings. We had the time of our lives and will hire Alex in a heartbeat for any events in our future. Thanks for helping make this night one of the best and most memorable! We love you!
