tched DJs on me last minute. As a bride, this was already extremely stressful. The new DJ, Delvin, never reached out to me—I had to go through someone else just to get him to contact me. When he finally did (two days before my wedding), there was no apology, just a told that he was busy the day before and was going to be busy the day of. He scheduled a call with me for 8:30 PM and never followed through. Instead, he texted me at 9:30. During our conversation, he barely asked any questions, despite me having already completed a very detailed music list with over 70 songs and clear notes about our preferences. I specifically shared that we had a diverse crowd (Hispanic, Black, and white guests), that both sides of our family love to dance, and that we wanted a mix of country, rap, and 2010s throwbacks like Katy Perry, Rihanna, and Pitbull. Not one Pitbull song was played, not one Katy Perry song was played, and only one Rihanna song made it on. There were only a couple of rap songs total and just one country song for dancing. Instead, he played random remixes—including a remix of “Hotline Bling” (which was not on my playlist at all) right before our grand entrance—which completely threw off the vibe. The biggest issue: he could not read the room. The dance floor was empty most of the night. I had to spend parts of my own wedding going up to the DJ and asking him to change the music, which should NEVER be the bride’s job. Multiple guests also approached him to adjust the vibe. My husband even went up to him later in the night (around 10:30 PM) and asked him to switch to more rap once the older crowd had left. He didn’t follow through. On top of that, he was very monotone and not engaging at all—no energy, no hype, nothing to help get people on the dance floor. After the wedding, I reached out about my experience. I wasn’t even asking for a refund—I just wanted acknowledgment. Instead, no one took accountability or made any effort to make the situation right. It’s incredibly disappointing to spend so much money on such an important part of your wedding and have it fall so short. My venue was absolutely amazing, but this DJ service completely missed the mark. I will not be recommending this company and will be sharing my experience with other brides. I strongly suggest they reevaluate the DJs they are sending to weddings—especially for culturally diverse events where reading the crowd and honoring the playlist is so important.
