Alvaro Plaza is an entrepreneur, culinary experience creator, and co-founder of Il Mio Amore Woodfired Pizza Catering, a Houston- and Katy-based company specializing in authentic wood-fired pizza prepared live at weddings, corporate gatherings, school celebrations, private parties, and community events. Originally from Cali, Colombia, Alvaro brings together his Latin American heritage, professional business education, and passion for hospitality. He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering and an MBA from Xavier University. His education and entrepreneurial experience have helped him develop a catering company focused on organization, efficiency, creativity, and exceptional customer service. Before entering the catering industry, Alvaro and his wife, Tatiana Plaza, worked in professional photography. That experience taught them how important details, presentation, timing, and personal connections are when creating memorable celebrations. Those same principles became the foundation of Il Mio Amore: every event should be visually exciting, carefully organized, and filled with moments that guests will remember. Through Il Mio Amore Woodfired Pizza Catering, Alvaro transformed pizza service into an interactive culinary experience.
