A Little About Me — I Do Weddings by Jalen! 💍 Hi! I’m Jalen (he/him), and I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to potential couples! Choosing a wedding officiant is personal. After all, you’re inviting someone to share one of the most meaningful moments of your life. I believe you deserve to know who you’re booking! A little about me: I’m a 40-year-old transgender man, a combat veteran who served over six years in the military, and an ordained wedding officiant since 2011. I also have tattoos, some of which are visibly noticeable. I understand everyone has their own preferences regarding their officiant’s appearance, so I believe in being upfront about who I am and how I present myself. Where do I serve? I’m based in Springfield, Missouri, serving couples throughout Southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas. I’m also willing to travel beyond these areas! Travel fees may apply depending on the location. Who do I officiate weddings for? EVERYONE! ❤️ Regardless of your religious beliefs, background, sexual orientation, or gender identity, my services are open to you! I proudly welcome LGBTQ+ couples, traditional and nontraditional weddings, religious and nonreligious ceremonies, and everything in between. I recognize that I may not be everyone’s preferred officiant, whether because of my identity, appearance, or values. And that’s perfectly okay! I want every couple to feel comfortable and confident in their choice. My experience: I’ve had the honor of officiating hundreds of weddings and elopements since becoming ordained in 2011. Every ceremony has been special to me, and witnessing those intimate moments genuinely brings me joy! Your wedding, YOUR way! Your ceremony should reflect YOU! I work closely with couples to create personalized ceremonies that celebrate their love, personalities, beliefs, and traditions. Whether you’re planning a large celebration, an intimate gathering, or a simple elopement, I’m here to help make it meaningful. Availability & affordability: Officiating isn’t my full-time job. I also work as an office manager at a center providing mental health counseling services to combat veterans and their families. While bookings depend on my work schedule, I strive to remain flexible. I’ve even accommodated last-minute elopements! I also aim to keep my services affordable because a meaningful ceremony shouldn’t have to cost a fortune. One last thing… I share these details because transparency matters to me. I want couples to know who they’re inviting into their special day, without surprises or uncomfortable situations later. I’m proud of who I am and what I stand for, and I respect that finding the right officiant is a personal decision. At the end of the day, your wedding isn’t about me. It’s about YOU, your love, and your commitment to one another. And if you choose me, I’ll treat that moment with the care, respect, and joy it deserves.
