My husband and I had our wedding reception at The Manor House at the Houstonian in October 2020 and we loved it. Every staff member we worked with was professional, courteous, and...
on top of things. Amber was our primary contact at the Houstonian and she was friendly and responsive. She communicated with us throughout the wedding planning process and was flexible with constant changes due to the pandemic. The food was excellent. Many of our guests remarked about how good the appetizers and main courses were. They were also able to make signature cocktails of our choosing. One of the many things I appreciate about the Houstonian is that because they manage weddings and other events every weekend, they know exactly what they are doing in terms of logistics and customer service. The catering, bar services, tables and chairs, rooms for getting ready, and get-away car (a Houstonian car) were all handled by them, which meant we didn't have to find other vendors for those things. They also coordinated with the cake baker, Susie's Cakes. Amber and the other Houstonian staff members collaborated with our wedding coordinator to make it all feel seamless. The staff checked on us as we were getting ready to see if we needed anything. We felt like we were in excellent hands throughout the entire process and on the day of. Our reception was fun, seamless, and elegant. The Manor House is a top notch venue that I would recommend to anyone.
Over the top service from start to end of the process. The Houstonian Hotel is a class act establishment and hands down best venue in the Houston area. The hotel staff made everyon...

ra, Kim, and Sarah made our wedding a dream come true!! The entire planning process went smooth with zero stress because of Kara and Kim's amazing support and planning skills. Sarah was also a joy to work with when booking our wedding block. I cannot speak more highly of their entire team that made our wedding happen. They made every request big or small happen for us. It truly shows what a top notch experience you receive at The Houstonian. They ensured that our transition from getting ready at the hotel to the ceremony at the Church downtown back to the hotel for the reception was seamless. The Grande Ballroom looked amazing and everything was executed perfectly throughout the entire day. Our guests enjoyed their stay at the hotel and couldn't stop commenting on how beautiful everything was along with the DELICIOUS food. Their food will blow you away! My husband and I are still salivating over it. Our honeymoon suite was better than we could have dreamed. The Houstonian has the best package for all of the services they provide for you on your wedding day. They went above and beyond for us. We cannot wait to come back and spend our anniversary with all of them again. I cannot thank them all enough for everything they did to make our wedding happen. THANK YOU!!
The Houstonian provides first class service, beautiful settings and delicious food. You are guaranteed a beautiful wedding and great time if you use them
Our black-tie wedding turned out to be a fairytale!!! We do not have one regret and know it wouldn’t have been the same elsewhere. Amanda at The Houstonian made sure that everythin...
g was taken care of and that we were the happiest couple in the world!
The Houstonian made for an absolutely luxurious place to celebrate one of the happiest moments of our life, our daughter's recent wedding. The venue is absolutely lovely without b...
eing stuffy. The guest rooms are well appointed and the grounds, pools, spa, and fitness center are spectacular. The Houstonian staff were wonderful to work with and the reception was everything we dreamed it would be - beautiful, delicious and very festive. I'd do another wedding at The Houstonian in a second!
I love The Houstonian!! Alex, Sales Manager, was awesome at helping us set up our wedding room block after our original hotel was impacted by the Houston hurricanes last year. In...
hindsight, I'm glad that we ended up at the Houstonian because it was so beautiful and their amenities were awesome! My kids and family loved that they had full access to the club/gym and awesome swimming pools, which kept them busy all weekend! The service was spectacular and Alex was so sweet.....she had a bottle of champagne and a card in our room for us on our wedding night. The day after our wedding, Jorge, one of the managers, automatically started calling me by my married name, which was so sweet. Thank you Houstonian! You were all great!
Our wedding reception at the Houstonian was more perfect than I could have ever dreamed out. The quality of everything that the Houstonian provides is wonderful. The fantastic serv...
ice we received from the beginning of the planning process to the very end reaffirmed that we made the best decision for our reception venue.
I had my wedding reception at the Houstonian, and everything was amazing from the start of the planning process to the end of the reception. I worked with Amanda, and she is extrem...
ely friendly, organized, and knowledgeable. She made wedding planning stress free and fun. While the prices may seem steep at first, the wedding package includes A LOT. Included in the package is a wedding cake, hotel room for the bride and groom after the reception, bride and groom dressing rooms, and a lot of basic decorations (candles, etc.). There is also a banquet manager onsite for the reception who helps with timing, logistics, and ensuring everything goes smoothly. You truly don't need an additional wedding coordinator because the Houstonian does so much. The facility is absolutely beautiful, and having a hotel onsite is a huge plus for out of town guests. The food is also phenomenal...it was so hard to narrow down our menu choices. I would recommend the Houstonian to any Houston bride!
I had a mixed experience with the spa, but I can say that Tiffany Wilks does the most fantastic makeup! I highly recommend her if you need any professional makeup (wonderfully fun...
and goes above and beyond). The facilities are beautiful, as well.
However, I had quite a bit of trouble with scheduling the proper appointments for my wedding day with the front desk... and even later when I was working directly with the manager. It's very disappointing to have to work so hard to just make the proper appointments... and then when I arrived, things still weren't correct. I'm not sure what has gone on with management in the past 6 months or so, but it's not the Trellis I remember.
My daughter and I had hair/makeup for my wedding here since the wedding was onsite. They did a fabulous job and I felt beautiful! A bit pricey, but it was worth it!
I was so thrilled to host our wedding reception at The Houstonian! Everything was handled with amazing timing and precision and the food and drinks was just so above par! Jim Gray ...
was amazing to work with and was always on hand to answer questions or make slight changes. The Grande Ballroom was spectacular and the staff was incredible! Even getting ready at the hotel prior to our wedding was an easy process - we had two meeting rooms available, and they were locked up at the end of the night since there were still items left there. I highly recommend looking into having your reception here - I definitely would do it all over again.
We held our wedding reception at the Houstonian Hotel, in the Juniper room for about 140 people. It was absolutely beautiful and the staff put on our wedding without a hitch. We we...

perfect for our special day. The food was delicious! All in all we couldn't have been more pleased.
I liked the Houstonian because of its greenery and central location in Houston. I also read great reviews on the food but was not overly impressed. However, their service is great!...
They did mix up a couple of minor things that prevent me from a 5 but the grounds are just beautiful and worth every penny!
First of all, 5 stars does not even measure the level of Quality, Service, and Value. The staff at the Houstonian is more than top notch and the quality of my reception was amazing...
and I didn't have a huge extravagant wedding. I'm still in awe of the treatment we received and how magical the experience was. The Houstonian will forever be a part of our family!
Absolutely wonderful! Working with Evangelia made the wedding process an absolutely stressed free! Our guest went on for weeks about how great the food was and how beautiful the ba...
llroom was. The Houstonian is very professional and took care of the reception without a hitch! Best decision I made.
Sophisticated and classy, this hotel/resort knows how to host elegant receptions. From their hospitable accommodations to their wedding expert on staff, Jim Gray, every employee we...
came in contact with went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. The food is delicious, the ballrooms and lobby are lovely, the hotel rooms are very comfortable, and the fitness center was listed in Fitness magazine's Top 10 list. My sisters and I all had our receptions at The Houstonian and our guests raved about the place. We were very grateful for Jim Gray's and the hotel's contributions to our special day.
Evangelia and the Houstonian made our special day very memorable. They truly took care of everything and accommodated all of our customization requests. She didn’t charge us for tw...
eaking the menu a little bit here or there because she realizes that it doesn’t make a difference in the grand scheme of things (some places use any customization as an excuse to charge you even more). Admittedly, as with any wedding, there were a few glitches, but Evangelia stepped up to the plate, corrected everything and ensured we were kept happy. My wedding was a couple of year ago, but I have been meaning to write a review to show my appreciation and am again reminded of wedding things as I am the maid of honor in an upcoming wedding. I highly recommend the Houstonian for weddings!!!
I can't say enough good things about the Houstonian. Everyone from the wedding coordinator, to the hotel employees, the spa, the valet guys...everyone at the Houstonian made my wed...
ding perfect. They are first class and they treat you that way. I highly recommend having your wedding at the Houstonian!
The Houstonian has it all--it's truly the perfect place for an elegant, upscale wedding reception. Jim Gray has been there for years and is amazing at his job. Every last detail ...
is planned and the results are fantastic. Their food is amazing, the staff and service are great, and the hotel and grounds are just gorgeous. Our guests raved about their meals and the amenities for out of town guests are great. We had our reception in the Grande Ballroom and it truly felt like a fairytale. Highly recommend having a wedding here, but they book up quickly so hurry! :)
We fell in love at The Houstonian 5 years ago and always knew if we were to get married this would be the place. We did look at other venues to be sure, but nothing came close to t...
he quality and service provided by The Houstonian. Jim Gray is the Social Catering Service Manager and also handled our wedding. Ironically he helped plan the party 5 years ago when we fell in love. Jim worked well with our wedding coordinator to produce a top notch wedding day. Food, service, quality and everything you can think of was superb. Every guest attending the wedding and those who stayed at The Houstonian were blown away. My groom and I felt very special on our wedding day, and even the months prior. Jim and his team went above and beyond to make sure our dreams came true!
AMAZING. It just doesn't get classier in Houston and service can't compare anywhere else. Jim Gray made my wedding an unbelieveable event. I'm receiving letters, emails, texts.....
etc. about how wonderful everything was. The Houstonian is a service oriented business and they know how to throw a party! Everything went off so smoothly and they made us feel so incedibly special during our wedding weekend.
a great venue
The venue was beautiful (even after a harsh winter the gardens were still beautiful) the staff was professional, helpful and all around wonderful. The wedding reception went off...
