I thought that the wedding gods were against me when my very simple off the rack gown got ruined at the tailors. I wanted to avoid wedding dress shopping all together because I gen...
erally can't stand the typical strapless princess gown that everyone else wears. When I found Houghton I realized that the wedding gods were actually smiling on me when I had to find a second dress. Not only did I find the absolute perfect dress (well, lace crop top and long skirt) but there were about six other dresses that I would have happily gotten instead AND the experience with the woman who helped us, Kate, was joyful, fun and not remotely stressful. And I didn't just love it because I wanted to be some casual bride. I saw dresses there that would have absolutely worked if I were having a more formal wedding. All my married friends who came with me to try on dresses were instantly regretful that they hadn't found this place themselves when they were getting married.
I wanted a dress that felt like me and I found it. And it was completely reasonably priced. Every time I look at pictures I say "my dress was the best dress." Couldn't recommend highly enough.
Absolutely loved my wedding dress from Houghton! It was such a stunning different dress and I loved every minute of wearing it. So thankful for the amazing staff who help with alte...
rations to make it the perfect fit. I would recommend Houghton to any bride who wants a one-of-a-kind timeless dress.
Houghton Bride's dress for my daughters's wedding was absolutely exquisite, elegant, refined, with the most beautiful embroidery and wonderful finishings. She loved it and looked s...
tunning in it and had compliments from everybody. The dress was made in NY and with my daughter living in Paris she was only able to try the separate pieces made in toile but it was a perfect fit, down to the tiniest detail! Everyone at Houghton's was very friendly, efficient and very helpful, we were in touch over the phone several times and they even helped me organize the picking up of the dress by a friends flying to Italy the week before the wedding. I would most definitely recommend Houghton Bride!
Houghton is the best place to go if you want a chic, modern, and timeless wedding gown. She uses the most beautiful lace, and has incredible attention to detail. Katharine and her ...
team are very attentive, friendly, and will work hard to find you the perfect dress. They were very accommodating with my schedule and honestly I have nothing but the best things to say about Houghton.
The Houghton gown I wore for my wedding day was absolutely beautiful! I searched for a dress that was unique, contemporary and fit my more edgy yet relaxed style - the Houghton dr...
ess said it all! The designer let me try on some samples they had in the studio and made it so easy to stop in and get a feel for the style of dresses she creates. I have never seen so many beautiful dresses that are unlike anything else. It is not your typical bridal boutique. So if you are looking for something that you can't find in every other store - be sure to check out Houghton NYC!
Houghton NYC is definitely for the bride looking to wear a one of a kind dress that will not be forgotten. I am still getting compliments on it. Best thing about my dress - it wasn't so fitted that I couldn't be myself in it and the embroidery was a work of art. I felt comfortable and sexy - it was perfection.
Houghton NYC makes more fitted gowns as well. The one I choose hung off my shoulders and still showed off my silhouette. It was such a special night and I loved wearing a Houghton NYC dress that went right along with my unique style.
